Another Tilda stamp from the Magonolia Collection. I don't remember where I got the sentiment stamp (most likely Ebay or AC Moore). I love her blowing little stars and making a wish! I made the inside to match the cover.

She is sooo cute! I added "raindrops" and a small puddle of water, that are hard to see. You can see that my cards with "Tilda" are not as embellished as many of the card blogs using the same stamp. Partly because my cards are the standard A2 (5.5 x 4.25) while others prefer the larger 5x5 card, so there is just so much room!
This card will be posted for sale in my Ebay store. Thanks for looking :)

Well, I've changed the layout and purpose of this blog. Originally I only intended this blog to be a way to answer those who email with questions (from my Ebay store 2paynehollercrafts) on how a specific card was made. However, I have recently fallen "in love" for a particular line of stamps (you will see most of my cards made with them very soon) and would like to pursue possibly designing for them. With that as my goal, I have changed my blog, added a visitor counter, and will be adding other details in the future! They are just adorable stamps. I don't do all the embellishments that most of the other designers use on their cards with these stamps, but the owner liked my "cleaner and simpler" approach. I am going to give this a try over the next year and see what happens. There are so many wonderful blogs that I just don't have the time to even begin to try and compete with them - will just post my little creations and see what happens.
what's the saying ..."a turtle never gets anywhere unless he sticks his neck out"...well, I'm a baby turtle in this "blog world" lol
Have a blessed day,

Linda

Bird with attitude

Love this stamp - this bird's expression is great! Did this very quickly and can see I didnt mat straight onto card. Bummer! Image is watercolored with SU's water color crayons. I stamped the inside "What's Up" matches that expression, don't you think? Well, it's Memorial Day so I'm going to spend the day with my husband. Something we rarely get to do with just us!

Tilda

Eve, sorry I didn't see your other question. You asked if I would be doing more of this little girl and the answer is a definite YES! She is from the Magnolia stamp collection and her name is "Tilda". She takes some time so it will be a few weeks before more cards are done and posted. I like using the cut-out method (aka paper piecing) and enjoy watercoloring her. You asked for more embellishments but quite frankly, that's not my style. There are so many beautiful cards available with sewing, buttons, ribbon, etc but honestly - I prefer the emphasis to be on the stamp and the sentiment ...I use embellishments to try to make the card interesting and eye-catching but not overwhelming. Of course, "over whelming" is up to the individual. Thank you for your interest, sincerely appreciate it. Your input is always welcome !!

Flower Soft

Eve, this card is done with watercoloring and the addition of a product called Flower Soft over the flowers. Very simple, you can do it. Only need a white glue and the Flower Soft to sprinkle over the areas where you want to have "flowers". I purchased mine online through a store called 7 Kids College Fund. On these cards I have added some glitter just to give the flowers a little "pizz-zazz"! I'm just starting to use this product and my head is swirling with ideas ....stay tuned :)

Paper Piecing

Thank you Sara for your email. These two cards are done using the "paper piecing" technique. Just a fancy name for cutting out a particular area of the stamped image and placing it over the original stamp. I add glue dots (or any other dimensional dots, adhesives, etc) when I want to raise the cutout piece to give it a dimensional effect. You are so right, for some reason that coffee cup really stands out! This is a simple technique although it can be very time consuming if you are piecing an intricate part of your stamp. Have fun with it! Send me some pictures of what you ended up doing.

Cards done with "piecing" technique

both of these cards have been done using the "huffing" technique described below. thank you for your email - glad you like them and yes! I will be posting more for sale.

Huffing

glad you liked this card - it's very simple. Just use waterbased markers (I used Stampin Up markers) and the colors of your choice. Color with your marker directly on the stamp - use your light colors first. Then apply the darker colors where you want them. Before you stamp the image, you must "huff" on the stamp before you stamp it onto paper. "Huffing" is your breath on the stamp, almost actually saying "huff". This is needed to re-wet the ink because markers can dry when you are coloring the different areas on the stamp. STAMP :) You can immediately stamp a second time for a lighter stamp in the background. Enjoy! don't hesitate to email me if you have any questions. Really gives a beautiful watercolor effect.

White Tiger - emboss/watercolor

This one is a favorite for many! Image is stamped with black pigment ink then clear embossed. Using Stampin Up watercolors and their blender pen - I watercolor. Markers and watercolor are both used for water, greenery, shading on tiger and sky. The tiger is then clear glazed to give it dimension. That step doesn't show well in the picture. The inside of this card says "Missing you something fierce"...maybe its the verse and not the tiger so many like :)

Pigment Powder/Versamark

This one is so beautiful in your hand! Using a large background stamp (I don't know the name of the one used here - bought it used from Ebay), cover with Versamark and stamp onto dark paper. Using any light colored pigment powder, cover with stamped image with powder using small brush. There will be excess that can be blown or brushed off. The butterfly was made using the Cuttlebug Butterfly embossing and cutting set. I used the same procedure only heat set the pigment powder on the butterfly. Set the butterfly on a dimensional..and you're done!

Faux stone

Lighthouse
Posted by Picasa
This card is made with Stampin Up's Lighthouse set - using scrap pieces of paper that have been sponged on the edges with silver pigment and then covered with Diamond Glaze. This will take several hours to dry - but I like the "faux" stone look...
Well, finally decided to try blogging - not sure if I'll be able to keep it up (work fulltime and sell cards on Ebay) but will try. Recently I have had enough requests to do a blog and let my customers know how some of the cards were done....so here goes :) be patient with me. This will definitely be a blog that will need "fine tuning" regularly. Enjoy and please send me tips on how to better use this format.
