CSS GKD Treasure Chest Blog Hop - Animal Theme

hi there,
Bringing you the Center Stage Spotlight's Treasure Chest Blog Hop - using an Animal Theme.
GKD has so many adorable animal sets that it was really hard to chose.
The theme for the Treasure Chest hops will change every time and this time around it's the Animal Kingdom. We are paying tribute to the animal kingdom by creating cards and projects of animals from GKD.  Hope you'll be able to play along.
To make sure you are on the Blog Hop right track - you should have come from the jaw dropping blog of Karen Knegten and if you want to start at the beginning - head over to STV and start from there.

I chose sets by Theresa Momber.  I love all of her designs!
Used this week's GKD - Sketch Challenge layout for this first one
Did some dry embossing using THoltz's Dot Matrix folder, cut out the trees (made the reverse tree using reverse blank stamp), nestie Fancy Tag...colored with Copics C1, C3...E31, 35...R39...Y06...YR09...G00, 07, 28...BG13, 18...
Base cardstock is GKD's All Spruced Up - the rest is stash designer paper...
the sky and grass are done with chalk
After I cut out Dino - added Glossy Accents and popped him up on dots!

and I even did the inside !

Inks used were SU's Not Quite Navy, Creamy Caramel and Summer Sun, Memento's Black and Rich Cocoa. Flamingo colored with Prismacolor markers PM8,53,61,208

If you would like either of these sets, here are links for Dino-Mite and Aloha.

Make sure to leave a comment as you hop along because on Tuesday morning (March 1st), we will randomly choose one of the comments from all the blogs who will get a stamp set of their choice valued up to $24.95!
Now the next stop is over to the wonderfully talented Lori McAree
Hope your enjoying the hop,
hugs

a new "Wee Babie" from Phindy

a new adorable collection called "Wee Babies" by Phindy is being released. I have the honor of debuting this adorable little guy... Hunter!
You can see the new Wee Babies over at Phindy's Blog with a card designed by a fellow team member, new babies are revealed every several days.
These really are so precious. They are not "fussy" images, very easy to color and work with...Enjoy!
sorry, but my little piece of paper that I stick in my cards with the design instructions and supplies is gone...guess I lost it before I went away and was cleaning and rearranging my craft room...

I'm home and can't find anything LOL - love my nice clean craft room but it's all in boxes stashed all over the house that I have to go through now ... Can I just stay in here and ignore the rest of the mess!!!

Wednesdays are Heartfelt Creations

hello,
Set this post last week...I'm still on vacation...

Here are my contributions to the team - only did two ...was trying to get things done at work, home, pack, etc to get away

Both images are from the Heartfelt Creations set HCPC 3369 Outside My Window PreCut Set
(the sentiment is from the set HCPC 33363 Inspire Me PreCut Set).
Coloring is done with pencils and OMS (odorless mineral spirits), tree path is with prismacolor markers and got to use flower soft on the bottom card!
glossy accents on both

tried to get the glitter to show in picture that's in the trees - didnt work very well...specific details are over on the Heartfelt Creations Blog.

hope you like - next stop is over to Heartfelt Creations Blog.
have a blessed day

Phri-days are Phindys!

hello hello hello !!!       this week's challenge - Monochromatic
hmmmm,,,,so I pulled out all the B Copics I have from B00-18 and went to coloring (-:

had a really hard time getting this picture - the flower is actually the same color as the baby's outfit and the background is all white with only a very light shading - they are both colored with different Copic combos but you can hardly tell....bummer!! The colors are deeper - oh well, I have a new desk light and I think its throwing off the color...double bummer!

Hope you get a chance to pop over to Phindy's Place Friday Challenge Blog and check out the rest of the Team! They have taken monochromatic to a whole new level - they are sooooo talented!!

Well, as you read this I am headed to North Carolina for a visit with my oldest daughter and her family for the long weekend - so glad to be getting away...
actually she and I are taking an overnight road trip for part of the weekend to the Outer Banks to hunt out a beach cottage we can afford for a week sometime this summer - thought we should go see whats there rather than trust realtor pictures.  We love the beach and havent been there in years and years - so hope we find something!!
Not taking the laptop or any stampin stuff and DEFINITELY leaving work behind...

so see you next week - have a wonderful weekend

Designing Divas OBG Blog Hop

double post today - it's the third Wednesday of the month so it's time for the Designing Diva's
Oldies but Goodies Blog Hop - we just use something at least 6 months old!!

this stamp is old but the really old items on this card are the items used to make it. The designer papers - the green is from Stampin Up years ago...i do mean years LOL and the scraps are from Basic Grey- plus the chalks used were the ones I purchased from SU when I first started over 10 yrs ago!! they last forever...along with the SU water color crayons on the mice - now they REALLY last forever!!!

paper pieced their scarves and the cupcake holder

now you should have come from my wonderful blogging buddy
Brenda Turner
- wasnt her blog awesome, she is so talented....now I'm so thrilled that the next stop is over to the super talented blog of Peggy Marsh who can color the most adorable images!!!

Enjoy the hop and hope you feel inspired - it's all for fun!

Wednesdays are Heartfelt Creations

hi there, ok...today I'm not going to say what I say every Wednesday - that you should treat yourself to the gorgeous creations over at the Heartfelt Creations Blog. i'm really not going to say it...really (:
so ....my first card is done using the:
HCPC 2262 Grandiflora Rose 2 PreCut Set
Nestabilities Blossom
HCPC 3317 Open Petals PreCut Set
HCD 704 Perfect Petals DieCuts

Layered each piece and trimmed some petals as desired. Curled some petals by just wrapping around a pencil. Using dimensional dots adhered to card.
Stamped two sizes of petals onto scrap Basic Grey green and cut with matching die.
Adhered to card under rose.
Added mini pearls colored with R37 and the final touch was applying Glossy Accents to the rose and petals.

next one is done with the beautiful stained glass background which I gold embossed and chalked the colors and then mounted the cross over the oval window die

and my last is my quick n easy card! i used the pocket stamp because i like the way it framed the cross

the details are over on the Heartfelt Creations Blog... but
HEY! I'm not repeating myself and saying pop over and check out eye candy (-:
LOL
hugs,
have a beautiful blessed day - This is the day that the Lord hath made ...!

Joan's Garden Challenge

hi there,
beautiful weekend here - and so enjoyed it

this week combined two favorite challenges Joans Garden challenge to:
• Use designer paper for your background
• Use no other stamping except for a sentiment and frame (such as a JustRite Stamp)
• Use all the embellishments you would like to use
• Use some kind of dimension on the card (such as a flower

and this week's color challenge at STV:

I think they were tough (-:

Had some dp from Tim Holtz that I thought worked...
used GKD's "Lovely Labels" by Nina Brackett and the sentiment from "Aloha" by Theresa Momber

hmmmm, I've been doing so much coloring for the Heartfelt Creations blog that to make a card where i've only stamped..feels strange (-:   but nice to have a card done in under a half hour rather than the 4 hours it sometimes takes me...

have a blessed day - I'm out of here really early in the morning
hugs,

GKD CSS Alumni Blog hop

hi there,
hope you're enjoying our inspiration blog hop. If you get side tracked you can always start from STV.
you should have arrived here from JOY's Fabulous Blog

you've seen our inspiration photo , but just in case....here is what we are designing from...

I immediately saw a very clean card...and using Nina's "Lovely Shelf" combined with Theresa's "Hope Grows"...created this card
this is done with GKD cs Bubble Gum pink, and Chocolate, sponged edges with Memento Angel Pink and Cocoa...used gold glitter pen on leaves...

then continued to think about the inspiration photo and came up with this next card....went with this week's STV Sketch Challenge and a little geometric lamp from scraps

this one is done with Basic Grey "Infuse" designer paper, matted onto GKD Chocolate and white base.
Sentiment is from GKD's "Winter Foliage" combined again with Theresa's "Hope Grows".

You can purchase these sets and cardstock and inks from Gina K Designs Online Store.

well that's it for me - hope you are inspired !! now the next stop is over to Lori's Incredible Blog
Enjoy the hop and looking forward to seeing your creations from the inspiration photo over in the STV Gallery...
have a wonderful weekend  and thanks so much for stopping by!!

Phri-days are Phindy's!!

and I love it!!

Hi there, Phindy's images are just tooooo dag-gone cute!! She has a whole new collection called "Wee Babies" that she is slowly unveiling - sooooo pop over and see the first one with an adorable card by Dorcas...
This week the Phindy challenge is " Spring is on the way"....wooo hooooo!!!
now my card this week was inspired by several blogging buddies. We were discussing how often we are using our embellishments - sometimes they are becoming the card KWIM and the image is just "in there" somewhere LOL...
so this week - NO embellishments...can you believe it !!! well, I did use a nestie fancy tag...and a MS border punch....and THEN no embellishments - that's almost as hard as doing a CAS card!!
AND while I was trying some stuff on the computer - I used Digi paper for the background from MS Word and also paper pieced her hat and dress with digi papers...learning something new for this ole dog (-:
this sweet image is Phindy's Sleepy Bug
Hope you get a chance to pop over to Phindy's Place Friday Challenge Blog and check out the rest of this awesome team's projects
have a beautiful day - and enjoy your weekend
