Isabella's FIRST Challenge - Wednesday!!!

morning again,
Was so glad to see so many of you joining Isabella's PCP Group. Just knew so many of you would love her images AND want to be at the beginning of a new venture for such a talented artist.
Isabella is having her FIRST challenge tomorrow!!!
Have no idea what it will be....but know I would love to win her images!!
(ps, if you haven't popped over to the PCP Group - come on over! Isabella will be giving away another freebie when we hit 100 members!!)
Loved seeing so many familar faces (-:
Off to work - have a wonderful day,

my last Sweet n Sassy Tuesday - with images I mean (smile)

Well, this is my final post as Guest Designer for Sweet n Sassy Stamps. Now that went by fast...true what they say...the older you get the faster time passes (well that's a bummer thought to start the day!!)
Kept it simple...

Combined two of their images. The daffodil is from their March Daffodil set and the sentiment is from their set Praying for You.

Colored and cut out the daffodil and attached to the back of the nestie mat with the sentiment. Using the glaze pen, I glazed the flowers (and used the glitter pen on them - but we all know how well glitter shows....NOT!!) and glazed the sentiment. Enlarged this sentiment to use these nesties and grab the attention of the reader.

Thank you so much Sweet n Sassy for letting me work with your wonderful designs! and thank you so much to your Design Team for being so supportive and encouraging... I am truly now
"hooked on digi's"....LOL

have a blessed day!

FAITH "puts a song in your heart"

Check out my sidebar! see that beautiful new badge that says Isabella's Sketchbook...click it here or from sidebar...and enter  into a wonderful world of digi's......Ohhhhhh my! Fell in love with this talented illustrator's images!

This image was the first of Isabella's that I chose to work with....(more are coming!!!). It's called Faith

With Easter right around the corner, I colored this one for a friend who moved away from Virginia. The move isn't all she hoped it would be and she misses her "bird" friends. She had bird houses everywhere!!!

Remembering one of the larger terra cotta bird houses she owned...I did this one for her....six of the birds are pieced !!!  My Easter sentiment is on the inside - wrote my note to her before realizing I didnt take a picture of the inside....I merged the birds all together and stretched them across the bottom of the inside. It turned out so "pur-dee".....sorry...

Colored with Copics, paper is from Basic Grey on black cardstock - ribbon, buttons and flowers from stash and MS leaf punch!

Now, if you enjoy working with digi's...please look and see if you think you would enjoy working with them on a weekly basis...WHY? because Isabella is accepting applications for her very first Design Team!. (pick me, pick me !!) and how wonderful would that be to start with her from the beginning - helping and watching to see her grow and knowing you are a part of it... I know so many of you do awesome creations with digi's...would love to see what you do with Isabella's !!! ....so best of luck to everyone!!!

Have a blessed day,

"Em" for Mo's Dream Team Challenge

quick post this evening with a Mo Manning image that is so precious!
She's called "Em". Using her for this month's sketch challenge at Mo's Dream Team.  It ends midnight tomorrow night, but I have another post for tomorrow that I can't wait to show you!!!

pink n brown is a fav combo for me (well, brown and anything really!)
what doesnt show on this card (and I took so many pictures) is the liquid glitter on her headband, sleeve ruffles and the bunny! It really makes this card pop IRL...

ANYONE HAVE any tips on getting glitter or sparkle to show well in pictures!

gotta scoot! home early enough to make it to church tonight - love Wednesday prayer service !!

have a blessed day!

Glitterbees Challenge! open to everyone!!!

Woooo hooooo! made the Glitterbee challenge on time this month! This challenge is to use the colors "peach, orange and teal"....btw, I know there are a ton of challenges out there - but in case you're looking for a new one - this challenge is open to all stampers! it's just for fun...and sharing (-:

Since I wasn't sure what color "peach" is....was it the inside of the peach or the outside! LOL....so I just went with the outside - assuming it's a very ripe peach !!! that's the background mat - used Basic Grey's Indian Summer.

This is also for Vicki's sketch challenge  over on Stamp TV - another challenge open to all stampers but WITH a prize...chance to win a free Gina K Designs stamp set !!! oh yeah baby!!!
that's what I'm talkin about LOL

This card was made with Gina's  Picture It stamp set.

Have a blessed day!

Tuesdays are Sweet n Sassy!

hope you're enjoying  these cards from Sweet n Sassy Stamps!. I am enjoying them so much!

Had several emails that basically said you didnt try digi's because they seemed complicated. So thought I would do one this week that required no resizing, flipping, merging, combining images, etc etc etc...all those terms that have you intimidated by digi images.  I know what you mean....I used to feel the exact same way!

This image was copied into a Word document with the sentiment copied right below the image - that was it! I saved it in Word so I can use it again and again...love this adorable image.

Image is called One of a Kind . I colored it with Copics and added clear glaze to the middle red bird! (his little tuff of hair is also red, but with it glazed - it doesn't show in pic)...made my flowers using scrap cardstock from the card (did the background mat for image using the pink/green colors also).

This is a great "go to" image for a simple, quick n easy card!

If you need help in copying your image into Word - please let me know...will be glad to help you!
Have a wonderful day!

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #3

Tracy's our hostess this week at Sassy Cheryl's and she's put together another fantastic challenge.. it's a color combo and you get to use orange, green, black and glitter... !!
I chose Sassy Cheryl's  Duck Dance Stamp!

angled the pic hoping the black and green glitter would show better...added the sentiment from computer. I usually would think of this color combo at Halloween..but see what I know LOL ...
it works great with these dancin ducks!

can't resist - hope your day is just ducky! LOL

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge #23

This week over on Mo's Digital Pencil - Cathy's challenge is to "use 3 punches"....now how easy is that! also this week, Mo has another adorable "freebie" over on her PCP blog.  Loved it and couldn't wait to use it.....
here you go ..."the white rabbit"...."I'm late, I'm late... for a very important date !!"...how perfect for my belated  birthday card !!!

I used 7 punches (incl nesties)....kinda like finding Waldo! used the Shaving Cream technique for background paper, Copics and SU watercolor crayons....and the white Smoochie stuff for accent!

gotta go! I'm so tickled that my 3 yr old grandaughter is spending the night with us...hope I can keep up!
have a wonderful weekend!

my very phirst Phindy!!!

heeeheeee heee! Have been waiting to type that!!!...well, I'm always "a day late and a dollar short!"....just found a new illustrator in digi's (I mean new to me) ...Philomena O'Neill and her blog is "Phindy's Place"...her images are wonderful! If you have a minute, pop over and look at her beautiful images... on her sidebar she  has a pic of some of her books.
So why didn't I know about her sooner ???....oh well, I know her NOW and already have some cards "under construction"...but this is my first one!

This is for a challenge over at Phindy's Place on PCP. It's to combine two images - I used the image "Easter Bonnet" and "I've got you covered".  The sentiment I added - it wasn't part of the image. Paper pieced the little one with the Easter Bonnet (isnt she adorable!)...and glazed the wings

This reminds me of being a Grandma and trying to take care of all my grankids - no matter what!

well, need to get this ole body in bed (yep, Patti - I go and go and then burn and crash LOL)
have to leave very early and it's going to be a looonnggg day...but hoping for some computer time during lunch so I can pop around and visit

have a blessed day!

Tuesdays are Sweet n Sassy!!

I love this image from Sweet n Sassy Stamps!. It's called Christ Arose . Just such a wonderful image and a real pleasure to color. I didn't want to add a lot of embellishments to this one, it's beauty really stands alone.

The flower at the side of the card, is one of the sentiments with this set. I have two more images printed and working on coloring them to send to family. This flower is going on one of them. There is clear glitter on some of the flowers, but as usual with glitter - doesn't show very well!

I hope you like it - if you get a chance...pop over to Sweet n Sassy and check them out!

Still need to work on Easter cards to send...time is fast rolling by! Can't believe it's been a month since all the snow....now we're in the "flood" season....those couple of beautiful days were just teasers!!!

have a blessed day,

Just a Note

This week Vicki took it easy on us and gave us this basic sketch

(remember - you dont need to use Gina K stamps to enter!! but that's what you will win - a free stamp set!)

so with the basic sketch - I took it easy and made a basic card!

let the dp do the work on this one!! love the mini envelope punch...and added some punch flowers! Sentiment is from Gina K's "Tropical Windows".

now - I want to give a big shout out to my fellow Glitterbee, Loretta Rodger! She had challenged the Glitterbees to update their blogs (no problem for me since I post every day - may skip a Sunday) within a time frame she gave....and I believe everyone that could... did meet her challenge...THIS is what I received from her..this adorable post it note holder with the little calendar...

isn't this adorable!!! going to keep mine in my car...Loretta, thanks so much! Just love it...

Have a blessed day,

What's in your closet?

This is Gina's challenge this week...go through your closet - see what treasure you find! Well, I did that...not really thinking I was going to find anything that I didnt know was in there.   WRONG! I moved a small box of old inks (note to self: throw away) and there was my "recipe album" FULL of Cuttlebug cutting dies!!! I am embarrased to say I havent even given them a second thought - until I spied this album. The butterfly on my card was done with one of the cutting dies.
Now it really is official - I have too much "stuff"...pretty bad when you don't even remember owning them until you find them!!!

I used the "shaving cream" technique for the background. Really love it IRL so kept this card very simple.

here's a picture of the album...see what I mean - I'm not talking about 1 or 2...how could I forget all of these?
thinkin I will just chalk it up to old age...sounds better than "greedy"  LOL

have a wonderful Sunday,

Home Tweet Home!

Hi there,
Hope you have a great weekend planned (Patti, "enjoy" your painting LOL)...today I am meeting several friends at church to make Easter cards for our missionaries - really looking forward to just stamping and having fun!...usually I am working alone with DH "living at Mayberry" (heeee heeee - he's addicted to Andy Griffith) ..which is fine - but nice to get to play with friends (:

This one is for Mo's challenge to do anything but a square or rectangle! I had big ideas but it's Friday night and been a looonnggg week..so doing a circle

This was a free image Mo had given away to all the members of her group over on PCP.  I paper pieced the bodies of the birds and the little sign. The flower was two different punchs run through CB folder...the inside has the same light blue circle...and I intend to put "can't wait til you're home" on the inside....

Well going to go pack up what I need to take with me today!
Enjoy the weekend and have a wonderfully blessed day,
Hugs

Hey! Wanna Hang Out

Time for Sassy Cheryl's 2nd challenge - this time it's a sketch.

I used this cutie image that Cheryl gave to members of the PCP group when the membership hit 200..it's still free if you want to pop over and join!  I think it's just adorable!  added my own sentiment and flipped around the background panels in the sketch aaannndddd changed their dimensions...(-:

while posting this, listening to the rain - it's a great sounding rain - not a storm - just rain....bring on the Spring showers!!! no complaints here...

Have a blessed day!

"Wish Shoe Well" Shoe for Glitterbee's Challenge

I am soooooo behind on my entry for my blogging group "the Glitterbee's". Our wonderful member
Vicki gave us the challenge for February (told ya I was behind) to make anything but a normal shaped card....I had this in mind all month but had trouble drawing out the shoe template. I saw a card made like this several years ago at a Stampin Up Regional Convention in Virginia Beach (along with Jennie Harper, that was so much fun!!!) and had a photo of it but can't find it...so just went with the "memory"...LOL

the inside says "Celebrate in Style"....

definitely NOT a normal shaped card!

have a wonderful blessed day!

PS thank you everyone for the Sunshine Award - will be posted here tomorrow ...love ya!

Daffodils....finally Spring?

love daffodils!!! one of my fav's....you know it's Spring when they pop their lovely heads up through even the snow!! we have some at work and ...yes!!! they are coming up....hope they make it!

I'm lovin this card....
you can't tell well in the pic, but some of the daffodils are embossed and some are paper pieced.

This was done using two images from Sweet n Sassy Stamps! The sentiment is from their set "Praying for You" and the daffodils are done with their image "March Daffodil". I am really enjoying working with their images !I especially appreciate the scripture, sentiments, and images that glorify the Lord...I like to have a "stash" of encouragement cards on hand to send to some of the incarcerated women in my Bible study on Monday nights and these images provide quick n easy cards!

have a blessed day!

Paper: GKD's Lemon Drop and Asparagus
Ink: SU's Barely Banana, Mellow Moss, Old Olive

B is for Blessing

Recently a friend posted a card over on STV using a background stamp from Stampin Up....it was so pretty! then I felt almost guilty... I must have at least 20+ background stamps and never use them anymore....and these are just the ones I'm counting from Stampin Up! Why did we stop using them???....I'm guessing it's all the beautiful designer paper available now...Back then, we used our backgrounds stamps to make our backgrounds...what a cool idea (snark snark!!)..... so here is my stamped background....

This card is done for a friend who wanted a lavendar card using the sketch from Vicki over on STV, kept it monochromatic and very simple, quick and easy.

Well, I have to say I miss the dp! but then again, could have stamped something on the blank side of the card (why do large blank spaces drive me nuts??)....will have to dig out some of those stamps and start using them....maybe.....
anybody want to join me in the "rivival of the background stamp"  LOL

So, how many background stamps ( the big ones) do you have stored away?
heeeeheeeeheee don't be shy, I told (-: so please don't let me be all alone ...(hey, and then there are all those roller stamps that I just had to have......need to pull them out too!)

Have a blessed day,

Paper: GKD's Vibrant Violet, Lovely Lavendar, White
Ink:  Vivid's Violet Mist and Purple

Thanks so Much

Made this for a sweet friend at church...we've been so busy we JUST exchanged Christmas presents! she also loves to stamp but with major changes in their home life (daughter coming home with two babies) she just has lost her "mojo"...hoping this  (and the goodies I gave her) will get her to take some time for herself  !

entering this in the color challenge at STV - to use pink n white.  I used the  Wings of Hope digital paper at Gina K Designs.  Darkened it some for this card.

Sweet, easy, quick!

Busy day today! off to church and then some time with Grankids !!

Have a blessed day,
