2more "wild at heart" cards

hi there,

my daugher and SIL's flight from Belize had to be cancelled yesterday due to the Tropical Storm that hit down there - they were able to get a flight home tonight but wont arrive here in Goldsboro until about 1am.  Good thing I was already off tomorrow (-:

this first card is for my grandaughter with her fav colors and some sparkle!!
this is a faux matted nestie  LOL  I actually masked the stamp with the cutout nestie and sponged purple all around it, stamped, then stamped sentiment onto card and thickly outlined to look like a mat! of course, glitter had to be added (-:

this one is more of the vintage look that I'm practicing - I need to invest in more "stuff" to put on these cards...I love the vintage cards but it's really a talent knowing what to embellish them with...(tried to CASE Dru and Linda C but WOW! they are like vintage Queens!!!)
wooo hoooo while posting this my daughter called and I leave here in an hour to go get them!

can't wait to hear about their mission trip, so far we know that there were many decisions for Christ!
I will be driving home tomorrow night and then to work on Tuesday.

These past 9 days have been wonderful - but really miss my husband - time to go home (-:

Wild at Heart - continuing the quest to make 10 cards with this set

hi there,
well some of you may remember my personal challenge to use the big background stamp in GKD's "Wild at Heart" set by Melanie on 10 cards - not an easy task when I've not worked with a big background stamp for sooo long....anyway, my goal this week while I'm away was to work with stamps that have just been collecting dust AND to continue this challenge. So have been working with this set today and enjoying these colors from the STV Color challenge (red, brown, green, ivory) using all the gorgeous Fall colors.

On the first card, airbrushed my pumpkin dp with E04 to make the pumpkin more brown instead of orange, stamped tree/fence in memento black and colored with Copics - used one half of a previously stamped WAH image (torn in half and used on both cards) and added faux stiching...and the vintage ticket...and ran the tiny ribbon through the lace...if you enlarge it - it doesnt look like there's a piece of vellum over it LOL

This second card looks like the dp on the bottom is black/grey but its SU's Olive dp (long ago retired), added pearls to the flowers and a piece of vintage scrap...sponged the sentiment, added the lace - done!

have two more to finish using blues (-:

I'm short two cards in reaching my goal, so dont be surprised if I CASE some of the beauties created by Melanie and her super talented Guest Designer, Mary Anne- check them out for some real eye candy with this set!!!

have a wonderful weekend!
My daughter and SIL are due to fly home tonight if the weather allows it - there is a tropical storm headed to Belize that we are praying doesnt affect their flight schedule...

Card Holder tutorial by Vicki

hi and welcome,
today I've posted an adorable card holder using an easy peasy tutorial done by super super talented ...     Vicki Dutcher.

(dont laugh at my flower - didnt bring any punches on this trip, so improvised - used a quarter and made a circle, then "eyeballed" my 6 blossoms and made flower as usual....not too shabby! but would prefer a punch!! Using the flower and the sentiment to hold my top flap (didnt bring any velcro or magnets!!)

This is my first one, so looking forward to getting bolder on future makes!

Sentiment is from  GKD's "Farm Life" by Theresa and papers are Webster's vellum and green construction paper that my Grankids had....now pop on over to Vicki's Blog for the details - I'm tellin ya, very easy!

have a blessed day!
I am so lovin taking care of my grankids - tremendous blessing and I'm smilin alllllll day!!!

MFP' s Challenge - Birthday Card for OWH

hi there,
quick post! one thing about being here with the Grankids is that I cant stay up at night and stamp - too tired..at home, getting up and getting ready for work is no problem...dont know why it's so different here with kids LOL  maybe it's fixing breakfast, packing lunches (cant do it the night before) bookbags ready, gym bags ready...hear the shower running but are they actually IN the shower!!
everybody actually has their homework IN their bookbags , etc etc etc  All before 7am. ...Those of you with school kids are smilin I'm sure...me too!!! lovin every minute ...and actually they do most of that stuff - so what's different??

this card is for the MFP Challlenge which is another OWH card specifically for a birthday. I have a whole bunch of cards to send to the Charlotte NC address.

I brought with me this week stamps that I've purchased and yet to use. This one is from the Artistic Outpost and sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps. Love this pig and hoping some "good ole country" guy or gal serving in our armed forces will get this to send back home to someone special...

have a wonderful day

Wild at Heart

hello - hope your weekend is going well (-:

I havent worked with a "background" stamp for so long. I have *cough * cough...let's just say "many"...especially since I was a Stampin Up Demo...but with the coming of all the gorgeous designer papers - using my BG stamps has fallen away to practically nothing...
soooooo
along comes GKD's new set Wild at Heart by Melanie!

and now my brain is scrambling....surely I havent forgotten how to use them! So I have a personal challenge to create 10 different cards with this set. I've previously posted one .. so today have added two more - both of these are for challenges over at STV.

this is for the Color Challenge from our new hostess Janice!

stamped this three times - once using red ink stamped onto GKD's Kraft cs, then again using red ink stamped onto GKD's Lemon Drop cs and last used Vivid's Straw stamped onto white cs. Cut and pasted my pieces onto the stamped Inspiration Mosaic (also by Melanie). Sentiments stamped with Vivid's Coffee and are matted with the cardstock base GKD's Chocolate. Also used GKD's Red Rocket for a layer. Added some glitter with pen and gingham ribbon (oh and a little shadowing with Copic E31)

and this is for the Sketch Challenge from Vicki!
Background is embossed and you can see how I did the rest - used GKD's Rocket Red and black cs and I think the dp is from SU....

For more inspiration with this set, pop over to
Melanie's blog at    http://melaniemuenchinger.blogspot.com/ . She has so many tips...
and be sure to visit her Guest Designer, Mary Anne at http://lakesidestamping.blogspot.com/  knock out cards with this set
and check out the gallery at STV showing more gorgeous creations achieved with this set...
http://stamptv.ning.com/photo/photo/listTagged?tag=wildatheart

sorry I dont have these linked but blogger is giving me a fit and its the weekend so I'm moving on...LOL
now I'm back to stampin BIG GRIN HERE - no housework today, I can stand the mess !!
hmmmm, can I come up with 7 more different cards...not sure....

Philippians 2:14 "do ALL things without murmuring and disputing"...I think this is one of the toughest verses to conquer - seems like I complain way tooooo much over the dumbest things and I really realize this even more when I see friends with real problems who never complain and keep looking to the Lord.

one that didnt quite work

hi there - this is one of those times it just doesnt work for me BUT it's after midnight and want to get this entered in a couple challenges and need to get to bed - back to work tomorrow and played all weekend - loved it!

I stamped the new background stamp from GKD's Wild at Heart by Melanie in SU's Pretty in Pink, then airbrushed Copics RV02, R37 and YR09 in different areas. Matted onto SU's cranberry, matted on SU's Wasabi and base cardstock is also SU's pink. These were the colors I have that matched the closest to the color challenge #46 over at Stacey's Stamping Stage - wild wasabi, pink pirouette, peach parfait, poppy parade, whisper white.

Then over at Marks' Finest Paper, the challenge from Geri  is to do "5 of something"..so I have 5 flowers - 3 are stamped and 2 are pierced.

THEN, I was capping the R37, dropped it and PLOP! right on my card...soooooooo...I had to turn the tag...oh well, only you and I will know....whoever receives it won't (-: Tag is from GKD's Fancy Tag set by Nina.

Can't be upset - weekend was just tooooo wonderful - now back to work week . Thankful for my job.
I was so glad to also get around to do some blog visiting with so many of you that I've missed (-:

have a blessed day,
Spending time with friends this weekend and hearing their health problems - DH and I are thanking the Lord for our good health. Tremendous blessing that we take for granted. Need to work on that.....

Joan's Garden Challenge

Hi there,
Hope you are enjoying your weekend (and that it extends through Monday!)
This card was done for Joan's Garden's Challenge  to use:
deep rich purple
embellish with a Spellbinders pendant die
cut out flower to be hand colored
punched border
whew!
LOL

really really enjoyed this challenge - but realized I am out of deep purple cardstock (how did that happen?)

Big flower is done with Heartfelt Creation's "Innoscents Flowers" Stamp set -I curled back petals and added flower soft to center - colored with Copics BV00, 01, 08 and V17.
The "leaves" were done with a Spellbinders corner die from their Pendant Fleur De Lis set. Punched border and small flowers were done with scrap dp - colored the mini pearls with Copic BV08.
Sentiment is from SU and stamped on scrap of Webster's and striped dp is from stash.
Ribbon is from stash.

my pic really doesnt do this one justice....
the stamp is a fav since it's the verse I go to for everything - I cannot imagine life without knowing and trusting that the Lord has it all in control (the good and the bad)
