Isabella's "Sweetheart Flower" - a fav image!

Hi there,
WHAT a weekend! Went to the most awesome scrapbooking/card making vendor show in Chantilly, VA (it's called the Great American Scrapbook Convention) with two friends - there were over 90 vendors!! but the best part was the few minutes I got to spend  meeting my friend, Randi Barrett! She was with Our Daily Bread Designs doing the make-n-takes! She is exactly as she blogs - we were laughin and talkin so fast, trying to get as much said as possible while my friend and I were "making n taking" a card...LOL there was a line of ladies waiting to do their cards and Randi was busy non-stop all day! I just kept poppin back and we would talk fast ...LOL

ok, to my card - used the Isabella image Sweetheart Flower (colored with Copics Y02, 06, 08, G0000, E35, YG63, 67) cut out and matted onto Basic Grey Origin dp, added airbrushed with Copic Y06 handmade vellum flowers  made with MS punches, bottom section has MS border punch...sentiment unknown matted on nesties!

entering this one into 3 challenges:
Positioning Systems #173
Speedy the Cat Challenge #9
Joan's Gardens Challenge #3

Thanks for poppin in,
hugs

STV's Blast from the Past Challenge - Buttons n Bows with a twist!

hi there,
hope you're enjoying the techniques I've been posting each week from the wonderful tutorials done by Gina. I know I'm havin fun (-:
Mary Anne - next week - soot!
(just kidding)

This week - easy peasy! attach a button to a bow BUT there's a twist! the button has to be "unusual", not the normal two or four hole button. Now "unusual" is whatever that means to you...I came across this button with a flower pattern that just fit my card beautifully...  IMHO (-:

Used the GKD Stamp Set "Friends are Forever", colored my flowers with Copics B45, 93, Y21, YG91,  GKD's stitched chocolate ribbon, my button stash and flat lace, Vivid's Coffee Bean, cardstock is GKD's In the Navy and some Basic Grey and Webster's.

if you havent seen Gina's toot on buttons n bows, check it out here - she has some great tips!

Really looking forward to seeing some of the gorgeous buttons you button collectors have in your collection (-:
and how they look on that bow!!
have a wonderful day,

Isabella's Sketchbook Challenge #13 - Summer Fun!

hi there,
This week the challenge is "Summer Fun!"...whatever makes you think summer!
I did my own ocean and sky with dusk moon, "sandpiper" stamp is unknown but the main image is from Isabella! (of course!!)
also entered this over at

Joans Garden Her challenge was to do a vintage theme card with a nestie. This "lifes a beach" sign worked perfectly!
Sorry this is so short....will come back and edit with more details later

GKD Thank you Hop! for Vicki, Sharri, Tina and Karen

Tonight we are having a special blog hop to thank our recently retired StampTV Challenge Hostess Team members:

These 4 designers have provided StampTV with a challenge each week during the months of March, April, and May, which totals up to 13 challenges!  To view each of their challenges in one area, click on their names and it will direct you to their Idea Center Inspiration Page.

Even better, we have a special StampTV Challenge Magazine Volume 2* located on the Freebie Tab, where all 52 of their challenges are shared in a download PDF that you can save to your computer and print out at your leisure!  *We will be doing a similar magazine for our first Challenge Hostess team as well in the near future, so watch for that soon.
To honor the team a bit more, several GinaK Designers are joining together in a special thank you blog hop and would like to invite you to join us!  After visiting the links below, please check out this discussion on StampTV and share a favorite card you've made in the past or a new one you're inspired to make using one of the challenges from any four of the challenge hostesses.

This card is for Sharri - one of my favorite challenges was her Glitter Color Challenge (stvbpsls06)
glitter is always hard photograph - hope you can see it !
Used Copics V01,04, Basic Grey's Kioshi, Memento's Bamboo, mini pearls colored with Copic V01, cardstock is GKD's Vibrant Violet and Spruce (for mat),stash ribbon and  images are from GKD's "Hope Grows" by Theresa Momber...
and of course, glitter and glitter pen!!

This card is for Tina - one of my favorite challenges she did was to use Ocean Mist and Tan (stvcctg8)

airbrushed the Impressabilities stencil "Sea Scape" using Copic BG02, cardstock is GKD's Ocean Mist, Sand, Black and White, Viv's Aqua, Memento Black, nestie, ribbon from stash. Colored mini pearls with Copic 110 and images are from GKD's Gifts From the Sea by Melanie!

This one is for Karen - fell in love with her acrylic bookmark challenge, have made a ton and given them away - just perfect for little "thinking of you" gifts for co-workers, friends and family ( stvabckk8)
This is one of the easiest items to make! used acrylic cardstock, images from GKD's By Your Side by Aselea Hopkins, colored with Copics V04,15, sponged with SU's Elegant Eggplant, cut sentiment out with design scissors and voila!

This one is for Vicki - loved all her sketches, so randomly picked her sketch stvscvd08
Used this week's STV Inspiration challenge for the colors, Basic Grey's Origins, Memento's Bamboo and Tuscan Tan, cardstock is GKD's Green Grass and Bubblegum Pink, airbrused vellum with Copic RV21 for flowers, adhesive mini pearls, MS punches and the images are from GKD's Hope Grows by Theresa Momber.

Ladies, your challenges were awesome and certainly continued to "raise the bar" challenging us to think "outside the box" which is exactly what is needed to help us grow and fine tune our skills....Your cards went in the mail this morning...enjoy and know that big hugs are included with the cards!

again, many many thanks!

Fire Cracker Designs by Pamela and Paper Temptress Blog Hop!!

The official start time of this Hop is Friday, at 8:00 AM (EST). If you arrived early, please be patient as all the links may not be live yet.

This is a “circular blog hop” where the only beginning is wherever you start!! You will know you are at the end of your blog hop when you’ve come back to the blog you’ve started from! (It’s not a huge circle…so it should be easy to remember where you started.)
The winner will be chosen from a mystery blog hostess that we don’t even know who it will be until the hop is over…so that’s why you’ll want to leave a comment on EVERY blog, so you don’t miss out!

**To find out if you’ve won the BLOG CANDY!! (which is a free stamp set, Pam's choice OR you choose 2 free digis!!) … you will be contacted by Pamela via e-mail (so be sure to leave it with your comment.) and you can also find out on Fire Cracker Designs by Pamela's blog after the blog hop ends on Mon, at 8:00 PM (EST).**

The theme of the hop is.. Open Roads aka  road trips! Road trips are all about the tunes, right? So we were challenged to create something based on tunes we like to hear when we're on the road!

I'm Guest Designing the FCD set "Escape the Daily Grind"....so for my tune, I chose

Java Jive by the Manhattan Transfer grab your cup and kick back and enjoy this little "java" video  LOL!

fun tune! and trust me....on the road requires COFFEE!

Here's my "his n her's"...on the road....mugs! my DH loves the mountains so that's where we would be headed!

Being on the DT this month, allowed me to participate in FCDesigns joining with Paper Temptress. The cardstock used on this card is all from Paper Temptress except the very light blueT! I'm especially lovin the gold - cant really tell in the pic - but it is really sparkly! Their cardstock used here is:   Gold Sparkle, Corrugated Chocolate, Blue Basis and Canyon Brown Skinny Columns.
The road scene I created is colored with Copics: YG 91, 93,99 and E33, Y29, and C5,7. The sky is done with Memento's Summer Sky. Paper pieced the mugs from scraps of Webster's and Basic Grey!

There you go!  what's your fav "road trip" tune!!! actually, I really love all the oldies (for me that's the 60-80's)  back then you could understand the words!! LOL

Now, to continue the circle, you will need to hop on over to CAT's BLOG

and keep going until you’ve come back to where you’ve started! Thanks so much for playing along with us and we hope you have a great time!

Stamp TV's "Blast from the Past" Challenge - Pattern Embossing

Hi there,
Thanks to everyone who entered last weeks "coloring with OMS"...truly loved seeing the different approaches to coloring. There was so much new inspiration - cant wait to try some of them (-:

I'm enjoying these technique challenges because they give me a chance to try new things! Sometimes I can get in a "mojo rut" and my cards will start looking very similar...but using the different techs can change that (if I remember them KWIM!)

This week's challenge  is Patterned Embossing . It's easy and gives a different look to cards. You can watch Gina's tutorial from HERE!

For my card, I used GKD's Showtime Stamp set "Eclectic Summer" and "Vintage Borders' by Nina Brackett.
Love using the oval nesties, inks are Memento's -Paris Dusk and Tuxedo Black along with Vivid's-Aqua, cardstock is GKD's -In the Navy and White, GKD ribbon and stash flowers. Background dp is from Basic Grey's-Euphoria.

You do not need to use Gina K Designs stamps to participate, although we'd love it if you did! In fact, if you use Gina K Stamps in your entry, then your name will be added to the prize drawing TWICE! Please be sure to create a new project for the challenge versus linking up something you've created before.
You have until next Wednesday, June 22nd, at 8pm CST, to upload your sample. One winner will be drawn at random to win a Gina K stamp set valued at $24.95 or less!

hope you get a chance to play!
have a blessed day,

Isabella's Sketchbook Challenge # 12 - Honoring Fathers

Welcome Wednesday!
This week's challenge at
Isabella's Sketchbook is to create a project honoring Fathers! I used Isabella's image DAD

sometimes making a card and having it look simple...is actually really its own challenge (-:
I wanted this card's image to have some depth to it, like your peeking in at them fishing

Copics were used on this one. Used a reverse mask so would stay inside lines to create the land and water for the fishermen - colored with YG 63,67, B24,29 and Memento's Summer Sky. Masked the center image and airbrushed the light beige with E33. The D's were colored with E17, 37. The twine ribbon  (from GKD) was cut down to 1/4"., brads from stash. Matted onto GKD's Green Apple onto SU's Caramel that had been texturized with CB folder onto black cardbase.

Simple, right!!! actually, it really was - dont know why I'm whining  - wait til you what the members of the Design Team created over at Isabella's - they nail these challenges every week!
so are you ready to join in the challenge? Pop over to Isabella's and grab the beautiful new badge for your sidebar and while there - pop over to her Digital Boutique and grab the freebie while it lasts! This will also be entered in the challenges over at:

have a blessed day,

Hi there, using Tuesday again to showcase the stamp set "Escape the Daily Grind"
which you can find  HERE
and to see all of Pamela's stamps, digi's, accessories, tutorials, etc...visit
Fire Cracker Designs by Pamela

My card this week!

I was actually able to use scraps of cardstock from out of my HUGE scrap box!
The mug is paper pieced from scraps of Basic Grey's - Porcelain, matted onto scraps from SU's -Rasberry and unknown scrap from Basic Grey, onto SU's Creamy Caramel base. I printed the definition of coffee and aged it by sponging with SU's Caramel.
Colored the mug with E49, 33 and 02. Used Vivid's - Coffee Bean to stamp the image, sentiment and the teeny tiny coffee beans that I ran along the side.
Used the larger coffee beans on the inside. This card used 4 of the images in this set!

Have a blessed day!

Stamp TV "Blast from the Past" Thursday Challenge

Hi there,
Thursday's mean I get to be the Blast from the Past Challenge Hostess for Stamp TV. I was so nervous last week since it was my first challenge... but the entries last week (used the shaving cream technique) were so gorgeous! of course, that IS a fav tech of mine so you know I was lovin all the beautiful swirls and color combos. I did have a lot of sweet email asking me to pick something less messy this week (I could relate - that tech is a "tad" messy LOL) soooooooooooooo...this week the challenge is to use colored pencils and OMS!
I didnt link the video from Gina because her tutorial is in 2 parts. So for anyone not familar with STV and Gina's toots...just pop over there from my sidebar, go to the menu on the right hand side and scroll down to find her toot "colored pencils with OMS" - you will find Gina's toots (love sayin that !!) cant be beat!

kept card simple - so focus is on coloring.
colored with prismacolor pencils and OMS (pop over to challenge to see details)
and check out the video if you've never done this technique...

this image is from GKD's set "Hang in There" by Theresa Momber
hope to see your entry over there!!
have a blessed day,
