Inspiration mosaic stamp set

Hello there,
Well as you can see, I haven't blogged in quite sometime...family health issues took over.

However, I just found out that Melanie mentioned me in her newest video about her stamp set Inspiration Mosaic! Truly truly one of my most favorite stamp sets EVER!
If you scroll down my sidebar you will see GKD-Melanie. From there you will see my cards created with only Melanie's sets.....keep scrolling and you will see a lot of cards I made with the Inspiration set....I can't believe the dates these posts were done! Time has flown by .....looking at them myself has me wanting to create more (-:

I've totally forgotten how to link, add pictures, do the HTML text thingy....but I'll figure it out!

A Getting to Know You Blog Hop


WOW, I've been gone a few months and forgot all the "little" details in blogging ...like the codes and how to post using auto publish...which I totally messed up! This was supposed to have gone live at 8 am today and here I am checking my blog at 10pm only to see nothing posted...so trying this again...

A few weeks a dear friend of mine emailed to ask if I would like to participate in this hop...well it was perfect timing since I was trying to get it together to get back into blogging again. So many thanks to my dear friend Olga Jewell and I hope you get the chance to pop over and visit her awesome blog. She is super uber talented and is THE master with Heartfelt Creations!

Now the questions for the hop:

What am I working on?

I do work fulltime with a very long commute so crafting is done in brief spurts. I used to craft way into the night but guess I'm getting too old for that...as I just dont want to get out of the bed if I pull an all-nighter of crafting. Currently I'm working on a mixed media canvas that is giving me a fit! Wish I had more talent in painting!!!

How does my work differ from others of its genre?

OK. I had to look up "genre" LOL...i don't do a lot of embellishments usually so I think everyone else's cards are amazing..and I dont do CAS very well....I love to color! that's my thing!

Why do I create what I do?

Well, it used to be I created whatever the theme or requirements were for the Design Teams that I was blessed to have been a member. Now I create things that I hope will be a blessing, encouragement or just bring a smile to someone....

How does my creative process work?

hmmmm, so many things can set me off wanting to dabble in them...unfortunately this also kicks in my obsessive-compulsive nature to have everything that particular craft requires...ex: try a Pan Pastel - loved them so must have them all ! love Copics...took me 2 years but I now have them ALL (and most with a refill)... so in recent years I've tried (failed) to reel it in some...right now its colors and flowers - in mixed media. Love it plus I'm using up some of the mountain of scraps that bury me in my craft room!

Do I have a favorite tool that I cant live without?

Absolutely! ALL of them! for real - depends on the mood LOL am I into punches that day or layering or ribbon or fancy background... so pull out the 50+ spellbinders (told ya OCPersonality) or watercoloring or stamping or or or....you get the idea! Must have it all or nothing!

So I hope I havent scared you off!!

Working on a Comeback (-:

Hi there anyone out there who still knows me (-:
Been gone for so long...

God has answered so many prayers in our family...
Our youngest grandaughter has been told her cancer is in remission !
My motherinlaw passed away fairly suddenly at 93 and we were blessed to have just spent a week with her only two weeks earlier...
I had surgery which went extremely well and I'm back to work

Looks like life is returning to normal....thank you Lord (-:
and I've been getting in some crafting
Funny how I feel like a beginner but it's coming back

Need prayer


Hello everyone,
I'm sorry I haven't posted here...have been trying to post updates on Facebook and not even thinking about my  blog....but need prayer.

My youngest grandaughter, Lauryn Hope Newsome, was diagnosed with Leukemia this past Thursday. It was caught very quickly. She was admitted straight to Children's Hospital in DC the same day the leukemia was discovered. She is 2 years old.

There is a Facebook page setup called Fight On Little Lauryn that has all the details. She began her chemo treatment yesterday and is doing as well as she can considering what chemo does to her little body....please lift her up in prayer....

I love Saturated Canary! this image called Princess Honor is perfect for a card I needed to create for one of my nieces....she creates awesome stuff with the Loop thats so popular. She recently sent me some strawberries she made and I wanted to send her a special card. She and her sister are "experts" in everything to do with the Hunger Games...so I printed off the words to a song in one of them...and created this card for her...so hope she likes it - made the hair blonde to match her's...

snow ! Snow! Snow!

Well, it's looking like it's finally our turn for a big snow!
Hoping our power stays on ...our propane was filled sometime today so at least we'll have the fireplaces...if our power goes out then we lose our landline which means no internet, bummer!

Sure hope it misses us...my little Prius doesn't do well in snow )-:
Stay safe n warm....if anyone around us loses power (which means we did too)....just c'mon over! At least we have heat...and finally a generator enough to use stove and make a pot of soup!! And coffee!!

The base cardstock is from Paper Temptress and I love it - has its own sparkle - its called Blumarino.
The background was created on white cardstock using mixed-media technique with Dylusion sprays, stencils and bleach. Colored with Copics V00, 06, 09...BV01 and of course...stickles!

TTCRD "Anything Goes" Challenge Jan 21-27th

for my card I used one of my FAV images from Phindy's Place called Birdie ...


kept my card vintage...using black cardstock and scrap pieces from Graphics 45, lightly sponged edges of image with Ranger's Distress Burlap, colored image with Copics E00, 11, 13, 21, 93, 95 and pop of B21 on bird...stash ribbon, tickets, brads, piece of cut cs from spellbinder die...fun to just grab stuff out of the stash boxes!

so for my card I tried my hand at creating a "suede" texture on this image from Magnolia...her hat, boots and skirt...with additional texture on the embossed background...

Heartfelt Creations Alumni December Hop

Using Heartfelt's Christmas Card Collection paper pack, I made a winter Birthday card...
Love love love the Viva Decor's 3D Stamp paint (thanks Olga!) seems like I added it
 to almost every card I made for Christmas this year.....
and speaking of that...I SOOOOOOO ran out of time this year, even starting in September.
So, I am keeping a box of Christmas embellishments out and going to continue to work on Christmas cards the rest of January...I didnt send all the cards I usually do this past year and that's NOT going to happen to me again in 2014....I hope (-:

STV's Center Stage Spotlight Group Hop - Inspiration Challenge
