This blog will be done a little differently and I love this.... Thanks to our wonderful Blog Coordinator, Jennie Harper, we are going to sit back and take our time with this one.  Tomorrow morning when you awake, get your coffee and come on back - the Blog Hop will be up and ready for your viewing pleasure!!!.... for those of you who can't pop in during morning hours - come on over when you get home and are ready to just kick back and look at some beautiful cards!!

Here is a "tease" of one of my cards:

This set is called "LET IT SNOW"...I LOVE IT!!!So come on back tomorrow, I'm going to go post my cards and setup my part of the Hop!!! Will give you the "skinny" on Creative Vision....for those of you under 70 you probably never heard that before.....LOL

Gina K's Blog Hop Preview of two new stamp sets!!

Welcome, tonight is the first preview of some of the new releases from Gina K!!! I am thrilled to be part of this as one of the Center Stage Spotlight Designers for September. Tonight I have two cards for you from the new set by Theresa Momber - A Very Merry Christmas....wait until you see the rest of the stamps in this set!.....start saving your dollars - this is a must have set!
This first card is done showing how easy it is... with just one of the sentiments, Theresa's matching paper and a piece of the new ribbon... to make a beautiful card!  Don't you love letting the nesties do the work! This card is matted with Gina's Rocket Red and All Spruced Up (a deep dark luscious inviting ...oh wait that's my favorite chocolate - whew! where was I?).....nope, in this case its the new, wonderful, dark green cardstock!  Love it !!! on this card, you can see I outlined the embossed scallop edge with gold glitter pen to make it pop!

How do you like it??

Now, the second card below used the stamp of the bells and the separate holly stamp. Masked both onto the new Good as Gold paper (it is the best gold paper I've used) to make my background and then masked them again on the white for the focal image. Colored with Copics and clear embossed the bells! Again used Gina's Rocket Red and All Spruced Up (won't try to describe it again...already needing my chocolate fix LOL) for the matting.

here is a closer look. The embossing still doesn't show too well ...but i can hear those bells jingling!!!

What do you think? is this a "must have set" or what!!!!

NOW! if you haven't already....

wheelbarrow of leaves

Enjoyed doing this card....paper pieced the wheelbarrow and filled it full of leaves!  liked my clouds,,,,even kinda liked using the Top Note die with the nestie...all is going well, right?
all done, walk my new little card out to show DH....whose only response is (with that look that I've done something really stupid)

"Why are you giving them a wheelbarrow full of leaves?"

and he's right!   why! why! why! did I use that sentiment...now I look at it and bust out laughin'...guess I'll save it for the neighbor who doesn't rake his leaves..or maybe the one that gets every leaf!! oh well, it is what it is!   LOL

Stamps:  Gina K's Autumn Beauty by Theresa Momber
Paper:  BM's Rhythm, Gina's freebie, SU caramel, white and bordering blue
Ink:  Memento Black, Vivid Coffee Bean
Colored with Copics
Embellishment: leaf button fr button stash, SU Top Note, Nestie
Technique:  paper piecing, Cuttlebug, matting

it is actually 3am!  guess who will not be awake tomorrow...so while I'm sleeping
you have a blessed day, lol

ps ... I know (light bulb moment) - I will stamp "Happy fall y'all" on a nestie, and cover it up!!!
now to crash  :))

SUPER SUPER SUPER ANNOUNCEMENT for me

what is the old saying "feast or famine"...well, obviously I will take "feast" everytime and that's just what is happening!
I have been blessed with ANOTHER designer spot!  This is for one month for Gina K's Stamp TV.
We just got to see the stamps that each team member will be working with....can't tell you anymore except that I love them all....and that ..... I AM CRAZY FOR THE ONE I GET TO DO!!!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

stay tuned for a  more tidbits as it gets closer to the Big Reveal!!!   this calls for a little dancin!

I just pray I don't get a "creative block"....really want to do my best for GinaK and Creative Clear Stamps!
can't believe it.....pinch me somebody !!!!

from Pretty Woman

This card is for the challenge over at Cinema Saturday .  It was to do a card reflecting something memorable from the movie Pretty Woman.  There were a lot of great scenes...started to do her singing (awful !!) in the bathtub! but then I thought of all the gorgeous dresses she wore....couldnt decide between the white one with the black hat or that gor-geous red number where he presented that gor-geous necklace!  so went with both....thankfully the set from SU provided the stamps! perfect match for this challenge...

I pieced the red dress and used red puffy embossing power to try and give it that velvet look. You can't tell in the pic, but one corner of the bottom of the dress is raised to give it more of a swirl.

You see my attempt to add Julia's gorgeous hair under her hat!

and I loved these three lines!  I can be so frustrated with DH and yet, if he says something romantic - all forgiven.................................hmmmmm.....................well, usually!  LOL

Stamps:  SU's Haute Couture
Paper: SU's white and black, Gina K's Rocket Red
Ink:  SU's black and red
Coloring : Copics
Embellishments: red puffy embossing powder, CB folder, mini red pearls
Technique: embossing, piecing, matting

Who else is a Pretty Woman fan?

sorry, just received email - the two statements in black are said by Julia Roberts
the red "you're stunning" was said to her by Richard Gere
hope that helped understand my card  :))

Autumn Leaves

Loved doing this card! The nesties did the work for the sentiment....it was the leaves and the little caterpillar that I worked on.  Did the leaves on plain xerox paper, not cardstock, and used SU markers! I wanted the leaves to be very thin, so when I clear embossed them they would naturally curve...like real leaves!

The little caterpillar was stamped with Saffron and then I just kept going over it with the SU Saffron marker! It finally soaked the paper (I was afraid it was going to tear because I had it so wet!) so I could get it darker shades. Clear embossed him also, used Copic E31 to give me a little more "oomph" to his little body and then cut him out by snipping around him so he would look furry...like a caterpillar!

This card was done for this week's color challenge at STV - to use pumpkin, green apple, and saffron . This smaller picture shows the leaves a little better.
Stamps:  Gina K's - A Year of Leaves by Melanie
Paper: Gina K's Pumpkin, Green Apple and SU's saffron, two pumpkin plaids are from stash
Ink:  Adirondack's Lettuce
Coloring: SU markers - pumpkin, old olive (to match the green apple) and saffron
Embellishments: pumpkin adhesive brads, ribbon from stash
Technique: cuttlebug, coloring, embossing, cutting, matting

I really am pleased with the leaves!
Have a blessed day,

AND.....there is some blog candy also ....that ends on 9-21.  Click on the Candy Bowl on my sidebar and jump in!

More info to follow...can't wait to see what stamps I will be working with... woooo hoooo!!!
BIG Smile here !!!,

Please drop down to my card post and let me know what you think - love everyone's comments - they are always such a blessing of encouragement!  Isn't it wonderful the friendships we've made and yet ...will most likely never meet one another. There are so many of you that I think about and pray for as I read your journaling...as well as laugh, laugh, laugh!!!  This is a great experience  LOL  lol  (to be on the safe side -it's Laughin out Loud with Lots of Love !!)

Have a blessed day,

spotlight sunflowers

Well I messed this one up!
It was supposed to be turned standing up...and all was going well...spotlighted my sunflowers so the top one would be off-center, had my leaves all going up...now for the finishing touches!   and then it happened...DH came in to talk about his day, my day, and our nice quiet weekend (hopefully). When I went happily back to stampin, without even thinking, I turned the card and decided it needed "something", so I added my little bees....and thought..this doesn't look right...and then it hit me!  I had stamped those little bees with my card turned sideways....grrrrrrrr....oh well!   what's the sayin "too bad - soo sad"...so it is what it is...sigh.....card done.

This is for this week's sketch challenge at Stamp TV .

Stamps: GinaK's A Year of Flowers by Melanie, mini bee and leaf by Rubber Stamp Tapestry
Ink: Memento Black, Vivid Coffee Bean
Paper: SU's Hunter Green & saffron, plaid from stash
Embellishments: mini adhesive heads from GinaK, clear Copic glitter pen
Technique: masking, colored with Copics

Hope everyone has a quiet (or not ... if you are up for it) and safe weekend,
I'm hoping for a "stampin mania" Saturday, big smile here!!!

Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge #4

I am still pondering on the verse from this challenge Jeremiah 29:11.  I made a card for the challenge in the previous post, but just kept thinking that I had missed an opportunity to glorify the Lord's most precious plan for us!!  His Son -Jesus!
So here is my card - this one I'm much happier with ...!!

Stamp: SU's Heavenly Peace
Paper: Basic Grey stash, Gina K's Chocolate, SU's saffron and white
Ink: Memento Black, SU's Night of Navy and saffron
Embellishments: ribbon and twine from stash, gold mini heads from Gina K
Colored with Copics
Technique: Nesties, matting, coloring

sentiment is my own - used the computer :)
Have a blessed day,

Pansies

Card is for Challenge #4 at Stampin Sisters for Christ!
The scripture for this week was chosen by Lisa Hjulberg, Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future"...wonderful verse to begin your day and always be reminded He has a plan for each one of us!!
Challenge #4 was to use the sketch they provided as a "foundation"..... plans!...with the thought that " The Lord lays the foundation and we have options about how to build on that foundation"...

Stamps:  GinaK - A Year of Flowers by Melanie, sentiment unknown
Paper:  SU's Razzleberry, dp Razzleberry Lemonade, white and GinaK's Pumpkin
Ink: Memento Black, Razzleberry
Embellishments: colored with SU's watercolor pencils, black Zing ep, orange adhesive pearls ($1 store), ribbon from Michael's
Technique: matting, watercoloring, embossing

Crazy crazy busy week! Much to tell but that will happen in future post when it's not 1 am!!
Have a blessed day....

Bling Weaving!

Calling this one "Bling Weaving" because of the sparkle-ly ribbon.  Hard to get "sparkle"  to show well in a picture, but the ribbon is brown with blue lines and copper with blue lines - woven together! The picture is so dark - I can't seem to take a good photograph of a card with sparkle :(This week's Pot Luck Challenge at Stamp TV was to weave!! haven't done that in a loooooong time! but it was fun :) I switched the direction of the colors in the center of the card and added mini-mini adhesive pearls that are copper colored.

Using the Inspiration Mosaic Stamp, I embossed it with Copper, then stamped in copper the dotted lines from the same stamp set.  Thought it was neat how the dotted lines matched the dotted lines in the ribbon.
The sentiment and top insert are raised on dimension dots

Stamps:  GinaK's - Inspiration Mosaic by Melanie, Thanks a Million and Autumn Stamp Set
Paper: Gina K's Chocolate Kiss, SU's Ballet Blue, Copper and white
Ink: Memento Black, Brilliance Copper, SU's Ballet Blue
Embellishments: mini-mini pearls, stash ribbon (I think from Michael's)
Technique: embossing, matting, weaving

If I get some time for my blog tomorrow, will try to get a better picture!
Thanks for stopping by,

PS just realized that if you pop over to Stamp TV - the picture there is much much better!!! (I'm at work - gotta go !!)

Sketch Challenge 68 for A Spoonful of Sugar

Really love the Magnolia's!  Finally had a chance to make a card with one...this is for Challenge 68 at A Spoonful of Sugar.  She is a larger image so I couldn't fit the leaves across the bottom in the same manner of the sketch - but there are 3 embellishments at the bottom with the leaves.  Paper pieced her dress from stash paper...like the look of that technique.

Stamps: Gina K's - Eclectic Summer, Magnolia,
Paper: Gina K's - Green Apple and Chocolate, SU's Durango and white, dp stash
Ink:  Memento Black, Durango
Colored with Copics
Embellishments:  adhesive brad head from Gina K, EK's flourish punch, mini leaf punch unknown
Technique: coloring, paper piecing, matting

Next post will hopefully be Tuesday night...have Bible study at the jail tomorrow night. Please pray for these women - some are truly seeking to change their lives. Prayer is powerful!!

Have a blessed day,

Quick Pumpkin

So glad to use this CB folder - bought it last year on sale after Season had passed. Needed a quick card - inside just says Happy Birthday...going to a 13 year old young man who loves pumpkin pie...don't have a "pie" stamp...so this will have to do !!

I think it works as a CAS card!

Stamps:  Sentiment from Wordsworth
Paper:  SU's Dusty Durango, Razzleberry, white and GinaK's Green Apple
Ink:  Durango, Artichoke
Embellishment: Ribbon from those little packs at Target's $1 bin
Technique: Cuttlebug, sponging, matting

Short on talking tonight....family here but excused myself to get this one posted real quick for Sunday!
Have a blessed day!

STVSC29 and Designing DIVAS Challenge

This card is for this week's sketch challenge at Stamp TV.  I didnt have the nestie in the sketch - so improvised! It also is for the Designing DIVAS Challenge - to make the sentiment the focal point of the card!
Have been wanting to use my Razzleberry cardstock and the Razzleberry Lemonade DP from Stampin Up.
Combined it with Dusty Durango!  have to admit....like the color combo!

This is quick post because I spent the evening over on the blog hop at Stamp TV for one of the Design Team's New Stamp sets - Autumn Beauty by Theresa Momber - gorgeous set!....my credit card is dieting otherwise that baby would be sitting on my craft table callin my name  (big smile)
Stamps:  Gina K's Thanks a Million, little flower from a SU set that I've kept out for so long that I don't know what set it goes to.....anyone recognize it?
Paper:  Razzleberry, Durango, Razzleberry Lemonade dp, Saffron
Ink: Razzleberry, Durango, Memento Black, Saffron
Embellishments:  flourish punch,  white flower inked with Razzleberry, gold adhesive brad heads
Techniques:  matting, sponging
Exhausted!  two back-to-back long days and need to be up and out of here by 7:30 in the morning!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Bowl of Apples

Apple Time!  we love it...before one of our daughters and her family moved to North Carolina - my husband always took our grankids (Maggie and Thomas) to the apple orchard in Charlottesville for major apple picking! We've also gone to the Apple Harvest Festival at Graves Mountain and just had a wonderful time.  Something for everyone! Well, once they moved it wasn't a tradition we could keep...so now when I visit them in September I carry them fresh picked apples.  We all have our favorites...for me - I love a good Golden Delicious or Gala!
...sometimes with peanut butter and sometimes (if its a tart apple) with a really good slice of sharp cheese.

Hey Patti - that's an "Ohhhhhh Mama!"  big grin here !

Stamps:  Gina K's Thanks a Million (sentiment) and KT Designs (image)
Paper: SU's Rose Red, Hunter Green, Black, white
Ink:  Memento Black, Hunter Green, Saffron
Colored with Copics E31, E33, E00, R29, R35, R37, Y04, Y11, G24, YG06 and SU watercrayons (night of navy and caramel)
only Red Apples are clear embossed
Embellishments: ribbon scrap stash and mini gold studs
Technique: clear embossing, sponging, matting

What's your favorite apple - any special way to eat it? I'll try it ....love apples!
Hope everyone has a wonderful day,:)

Big Apology

Good morning,
Sorry no post for today. I was with my daughter last night and helping her get setup on her computer. While doing this, I was showing her my blog and different things she could also do. She asked me why I used LOL so much? I replied that... I thought it was nice to let people know I cared about them, especially for those new friends that I've met and prayed about or for... She replied - how do they know that when you are telling them to "laugh out loud"...I replied - what! no, I'm telling them "lots of love"...nope, she said - it means "laugh out loud"...nope - "lots of love"...laugh out loud...lots of love....etc etc etc....sooooooooo, when I came home I went to Gina's forum and looked up LOL....bummer...it does mean "laugh out loud".....:(

I'm thoroughly embarassed and feel so bad - especially to everyone that I left prayer comments, condolesences, etc that ended with LOL! I am so sorry.

So, from now on ...no more abbreviations for me (unless I have the "meaning" list taped to my computer...or forehead!!!)

so have a blessed day,
lots of love!

Black Eyed Susans

This afternoon when I was driving home, I suddenly noticed that the roadsides and fields are covered in Black-Eyed Susans...seems like they are always there (here in Virginia) and I just take them for granted...so made this card with them in mind. Colors work perfectly for this week's color challenge at STV to use brown, ivory, yellow. (Several of the BE Susans are raised on pop-dots...don't think you can tell in the pic)

Have a blessed day,

special request from Rose!

This card was made at the request of a favorite Ebay customer (Hi Rose!) and loyal supporter.  She was so sweet! She wanted me to make "an easy" card but wanted it to "look hard"...for a co-worker so "no mushiness"...  So I made two - one for her and one to post on Ebay!
Rose, my dear, trust me!  I didnt spend a lot of time on this card so do not worry about that!...anyone looking will confirm that for you  LOL....but it does "look hard" for someone who doesn't make cards!
A special "thank you" Rose for always worrying about how much time I spend on a card! You make it so worth it with your sweet thank-you's...I sincerely appreciate your patronage and most of all - your friendship!

Stamps: Gina K's Tropical Flowers and Tropical Windows
Paper: stash from Basic Grey, Creamy Caramel, Bordering Blue and Buckaroo Blue (yep, still have some!)
Ink: Memento Black, Caramel, Buckaroo Blue
Embellishment: SU ribbon, CB label

Spending today with family....hope everyone who has a 3 day weekend is doing something they enjoy!

Inspirational Blog

I was truly honored and surprised to be featured on the "Inspirational" blog! Just click on the badge on my sidebar and look at all this blog offers to cardmakers and scrapbook enthusiasts! My thanks to Bonnie, who found my blog doing a little "surfing" (hmmm, do I hear theme music from Hawaii Five-O...only a few will remember LOL) and now a new friendship for us both in this cyber world! thanks again, Bonnie....hope your followers aren't disappointed!

Good friends n Good coffee

Don't look too closely - this card is for the STVTC29 challenge which required "sewing" on your card. This isn't something that I have much practice on....but I did it because Gina is giving away the mini-Janome sewing machine to whoever is randomly picked to win this challenge!!! yep, you read right! and if you use a Gina K stamp, your name gets entered twice.

So start sewing!!!

Wouldn't that be awesome to win! I have my old, huge, heavy sewing machine and am grateful for it! but wouldn't one of those mini's be great!

The coffee cup is colored with copics. Matted on creamy caramel and brown and sewed across the bottom. The background paper is from my stash and sewn onto mat. Scalloped just one side for a border. Had some caramel colored ribbon and thought it looked nice...then matted again onto brown.

All in all - I like it....sewing is straight this time LOL

Stamps: Gina K's - Sign of Autumn, Thanks a Million
Paper: SU's brown, caramel, white and dp from stash
Ink: Vivid's Coffee Bean
Embellishments: ribbon on either side
Technique: sewing, matting

Hoping to have a visit from my daughter and her family today after church - love playing with my 2-1/2 yr old grandaughter "Lily" and 7 mo old grandson "Logan" ....

I really should try scrapbooking them..........maybe one of these days!
Have a blessed day,
