Sugar Creek Hollow Challenge

Hi there - glad its Saturday! what a week..phew!

 This week at Sugar Creek Hollow our challenge is ....

 vintage Christmas!

remember we are a vintage, primitive or shabby chic challenge blog...so your project must be done in one of these styles....no others accepted!

 We have the wonderful talented Sassy Cheryl Digi's for our sponsor this week.
This week's chosen winner by the Design Team will receive a $5 gift certificate to shop at Sassy Cheryl's

Each of us in the Design Team received an image for this challenge and I received Sassy Cheryl's image called Twiggy the Snowman and created in the "primitive" style

used Mark's Finest Paper cardstock - Masonary Red, which is on the brownish end of the red spectrum

colored with Copics ...added my own trees in the background, stamped snowflakes in light blue (they dont show well) and added Liquid Applique for falling snow

side trim is a sparkly white with like a "fur" lined edge and sparkly organdy ribbon

trying to create Christmas in 100 degree weather - now that's a challenge LOL

The Outlawz Friday Copics/Pro Markers challenge

hey hey hey!

This week, the the Friday's Copic/Promarker Design Team at the Outlawz challenges you to create ...something inspired by nature....

now I did have a beautiful card with wonderful red and pink roses all ready for this challenge - took me 3 evenings to finish it ! it was going to my MIL for Easter...  but then...my sweet DH decided to pay me a visit in my craft room WHY OH WHY OH WHY!!!.....yep! disaster....as he so nicely admired the card for his Mom and was inching his way out of my room (tons of stuff on the floor and he's a big guy trying to get out of my mess...as I'm literally holding my breath) he backed into the door to my room - hitting his elbow really hard  - causing him to DROP his glass of tea...which landed where ???? yep, hit the corner of my desk and the rest....as we say...is...   hiss-store-ree!!  yep, lost that card and TWO others.....he was so upset - i was so trying not to be furious - after all he was trying to be encouraging.....oh well, it's over and moving on.....thanks for letting me vent  KWIM....I am thinking he wont venture in here again for a LOOONNG time (-:

so now back to the business of blogging....for this week's card - I chose this cutie pie from Sassy Cheryl's

called Dig in Nature - and unfortunately I believe it is now retired. Went to link it up for you but its no longer available....sorry bout that!

Sassy Cheryl's Tuesday Challenge

Hello everyone,  wooo hoooo its Saturday! and for me - this Saturday means some stampin time!!! havent had much of that lately so really looking forward to it....you know how we get when we cant craft...wonder if its safe to call it  MMS "Mean Mama" syndrome....my PMS days are long gone (thankfully)...but the absence of crafting time can produce an almost mirror image!

Judy is the hostess again over at Sassy Cheryl's , and she has put together a fun challenge.. just use your Sassy Cheryl image as the main part of your card, color any image any colors you wish, use any sketch layout you'd like, but leave all of the rest white.. So it's a "white-on-white" theme and that means you can't use colored designer papers, ribbons, embellishments, etc. Only white this time!

This sweet little praying bear is called Simple Prayer.

This was fun! Have never done a challenge quite like this one before.

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #5 - Distressing

This week's challenge over at Sassy Cheryl's is  DISTRESSING....can sponge, tear, layer, etc

I have been wanting to color this cute rabbit...I think of him as the "juggler hare"...don't know why !!!

pardon the exremely poor attempt at French...the only thing I know is "soup du jour"!

you can see my choice of distressing:  tearing and sponging...colored him with Copics, dp is from SU.

if you're reading this, then my auto post worked! I'm actually away and worry if this will work or not...and on time!!! the next couple of days are cards made this past weekend and auto-posted. Have gone to hills of West Virginia with DH to visit my MIL... along with our oldest daughter and her family - but home there is too small to craft ... glad to be spending time with them!

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #3

Tracy's our hostess this week at Sassy Cheryl's and she's put together another fantastic challenge.. it's a color combo and you get to use orange, green, black and glitter... !!
I chose Sassy Cheryl's  Duck Dance Stamp!

angled the pic hoping the black and green glitter would show better...added the sentiment from computer. I usually would think of this color combo at Halloween..but see what I know LOL ...

it works great with these dancin ducks!

can't resist - hope your day is just ducky! LOL

Hey! Wanna Hang Out

Time for Sassy Cheryl's 2nd challenge - this time it's a sketch.

 I used this cutie image that Cheryl gave to members of the PCP group when the membership hit 200..it's still free if you want to pop over and join!  I think it's just adorable!  added my own sentiment and flipped around the background panels in the sketch aaannndddd changed their dimensions...(-:

while posting this, listening to the rain - it's a great sounding rain - not a storm - just rain....bring on the Spring showers!!! no complaints here...

Sassy Cheryl's very first challenge

I'm so excited to be entering the very first challenge at Sassy Cheryl's. Here is their first challenge:

"When you think of March are you reminded of the color green, shamrocks, bagpipes, leprechans and St. Patrick's Day? We are! So to celebrate March, join us in our challenge creating a card (or 3-D project) using any digital image from Sassy Cheryl's ... just keep the main theme 'Green'."

now that's easy AND they are having a 20% off sale. I just purchased 5 images for pocket change AND the minute my PayPal went through...and it says redirecting you back...there were the images!!! now that is the fastest ever!!!

I'm excited to be in their first challenge ...will enjoy watching this grow. Her Design Team is awesome! some of the same names you will recognize from Mo Manning's Design Team.
