Sugar Creek Hollow Challenge

Hi there!
Welcome to another Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow
This week we want you to make vintage, shabby chic or primitive projects with the theme...
 Vintage Children!

We have a wonderful sponsor this week...
  TLC CREATIONS
They will be giving the winner a $10 gift certificate to their store!

TLC generously provided our team each with an image for today - mine is called "Vintage Leap Frog"
Love it - do kids even play that any more ...kinda hard to leap frog with
cellphone, computer or ipods     KWIM LOL

I envisioned this happening while in recess at school - kept them all in uniforms since that is what so many schools required back in the vintage days (no I wouldn't know!)...love the pups getting all excited too!

colored with Copics: E00,7, 9, 11, 31,33, 29, 74...W1, 4, 7, sponged edges with Ranger's Distress Rusty Hinge, image is matted on a bright blue but kept it very narrow, designer paper from THoltz with scraps from Graphics 45, white embossed my letters (letters I've had for years, they are mini peg stamps that were purchased from Michael's, lost paper with name a long time ago) onto black card stock and punched with Stampin Up punch - adhered with pop dots.

You know I tend to keep embellishments simple unless a challenge requires I load it up (-:
We're going to top 100 degrees today ....nothing for my stampin buddy Vicki  wavin to ya ! they deal with that in Arizona all the time...so i wont be going there anytime soon LOL
but for this ole gal - staying near my wonderful AC!

Praying for everyone dealing with the horrible fires and all the Florida flooding....the heat seems so minor.....

hugs

Fantastic Give Away from S.O.S.

Hi everyone, just saw where the Lily Pad is closing...
Deborah has turned this into a positive and decided to share her return to being able to participate in the blogging and challenges by offering up an awesome candy package.

Here is excerpt from her blog Society of Stampaholics ...

"They say every cloud has a silver lining, so I look at the end of the Lily Pad as an opportunity to get reaquainted with my cardmaking community on a more personal level again and a chance to play more with my stamps and make some videos. (I had just gotten my snazzy little HD video camera two months before we launched LPC and it's been gathering dust ever since.) I also see this silver lining as extending to y'all. To celebrate the resurrection of my blog, I'm offering a rather nice little parcel of stamping swag! The prize package. Stamps and other crafty items with a retail value of over $200."

  SOS-Blinkie-0612
Let's welcome Deborah back to participating with us (will be fun seeing what stamps she has that she hasn't played with yet !)
Deborah, thanks for offering us the chance to win this awesome package. Love your embracing a new direction with such a positive attitude - wonderful testimony to us all!
 hugs

Heartfelt Creations Alumni Blog Hop

hi there,
well its the last Tuesday of the month, so that means the Heartfelt Creations Alumni Designers are having their monthly hop.
This month the designers participating are:

and i give you my card...not the greatest photo due to all the BLING!

Using HCPC 3322 Daisy Patch Background and the HCPC 3318 Daisy Patch Flowers with matching diecut, I created this majorly BLING card for a sweetie pie friend...who already has it and I'm tickled to say she loved the bling! ( Which is the Gala Glitz Purple and Blue that can also be purchased from Heartfelt Creations!)
Stamped my flowers on vellum with Memento Black, adhered to stamped background using Memento Black onto dark blue cardstock that was matted onto light blue cardstock.  Stash ribbon and sentiment is from the HCPC 3354 Classic Message Set (a fav that I go to so often!)
Last touch is the fun part .... adding the bling! - adhered my vellum flowers using Art Glitter Clear Adhesive (also available from Heartfelt Creations) and then dobbed my glue where I wanted the Gala Glitz to stick!!!
Poured the Glitz all over my card ...waited a few minutes and then held card on its side and let all the loose glitz fall away into tray and then back into their jars.... the glue is perfect for this! all that bling is definitely stuck to the card!

Well, I'm the end of the hop...so remember....

One of our blogs will be randomly chosen and from all those that commented on that blog, the winner will be ... again, randomly chosen.
Blog Hop will remain open for comments on everyone's blog through midnight Friday night June 29th. The winner will be posted here (and on the member's blogs who are able to post) by noon on Sat, June 30th
The winner will receive a $25.00 gift certificate to shop at Heartfelt Creations!

hope you enjoy our small hop
hugs,

Sugar Creek Hollow Challenge

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY for Saturday!!!

Welcome to another Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow
This week we want you to make vintage, shabby chic or primitive projects using...
lots of embellishments - the more the better!

hmmmm, I do embellishments but lean " more to less" ...not more more more!!! LOL
so using an image from the Graphics Fairy...here is my "more more more" card (-:
hope you like it!
embellishments: stash lace, designer paper, ruffled ribbon, scrunched seam binding, gold/white mesh, pearl brad, eyelets and added accents with gold pen....added my fav little sentiment  "for you" which is from a 2007 SU set (but I don't know which one), although I keep that little stamp out and you see me use it often
that way I can use the inside for whatever occasion I need...

I was so rushed this past week with work that i didn't have any crafting time  :-(
soooooo drank tons of coffee last night and I am auto posting this at 4am to post at 8am because I've been up all night trying to get ahead on Design Team cards....
so as you read this on Saturday, I am asleep LOL .... hope to sleep until noon!
what are the odds of that happening ....but I can hope !

have a beautiful weekend and looking forward to seeing YOUR embellishments in the challenge - I really need the inspiration..

Hugs,

PS would appreciate prayers for Monday night Bible Study at the jail, have some really tough situations and they so desperately need the Lord !

Sugar Creek Hollow Challenge

Welcome to another Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow This week we want you to make vintage, shabby chic or primitive projects using ...your designer paper created by YOU!

now how fun! and I loved it! used my Distress Inks AND Markers (did i tell ya that I WON THE ENTIRE SET of markers at the Outlawz Baltimore Retreat!....wooo hoooo...happy dance!) My background mat was done by swiping the pads directly onto the watercolor paper and then waterbrushing to blend...then using mini diamond stamp from Hampton Art I stamped down the side.
Then on my watercolor paper for the main image, I stamped the sentiment in clear versamark and clear embossed. Then sponged over the sentiment and stamped the same mini diamond stamp over the sentiment area using the distress ink pad - wiped away ink and then the clear embossed image comes through.
On the flower (stamp from Rubber Stampede - Cherry Blossom), colored with the markers directly onto the stamp, lightly misted the stamp and then stamped onto the paper. That gives a wonderful watercolor effect and then lightly used markers to highlight. Sponged around the edges with more of the Distress pads.
THEN had fun adding the embellishments.... didn't list my colors because not thinking I put them away before I realized I hadn't written them down...pretty sure it was Ranger's Stormy Sky, Tumbled Glass, Pine Needles and Walnut (or Burlap?) but really its up to you use whatever color palette you want to use (-:

i love my designer paper ( its an addiction!!!) but it is really fun to create your own background too!

Now looking forward to seeing what you create! love the ideas we get from all the entries (-:
now off to babysit the grand kids (BIG SMILE HERE)
hugs

TGIF! Two posts this morning... I'm combining today because I used Phindy images for both challenges (-:

FIRST - This week at Phindy's Place Friday Challenge Blog the challenge is to create...for Father's Day

This "Dad" kicked back is going to one of my SIL's ....he has taken on the task of mowing OUR yard as well as his own ...and with all the rain we've been getting - this is using up his Saturday's (but we SOOOO appreciate it !)
Image is called Dad's Day
Sponged the sky with Memento Summer Sky and colored with Prisma Pencils! trying to use some of the layering techniques we learned at the Outlawz Baltimore Retreat...

SECOND - This week, the the Friday's Copic/Promarker Design Team at the Outlawz challenges you to create ....Congratulations!

My 5 yr old granddaughter graduates from K-5 next week, so this is for her! I have to finish the inside and that's where my Congratulations sentiment will go...She colors with me and loves this image because of the flowers on the dress (plus she thinks it's her LOL)...

Image is called Flower Frock
Used MME - Lost & Found dp, Sentiment from Hero Arts, colored with Copics!

Hope to see you over at these challenges (-:

It's Friday and I am SOOOOO glad - yesterday took me 4 hours to GET to Rockville, MD and then 4.5 hrs to get HOME!  ughhhhhhhh supposed to go back up there today but thankfully its not mandatory - if traffic is that bad again, I will pass LOL
