Phri-days are Phindy's Challenge - #3

Hi Everyone,
Friday's kick-off our new challenge at Phindy's Place Challenge Blog!. This week's challenge was to use our "favorite Phindy"...well that was tough because I dont have a fav!  BUT there is an image that is absolutely perfect for my youngest daughter. Her one year old (my baby boy, Logan) has just started walking...and he IS all over the place. He was a little hesitant and would walk as long as she was holding his hands....so this image just tugs at my heart!

I'm going to give it to her...from Logan...for Mother's Day.

Colored with Copics and used Cosmo paper and Cosmo ribbon (tied with scrap piece ribbon...always love using that stuff...since I'm buried in it..who isn't, right ?!

Hope you have a fav Phindy and can join in this week's challenge!

have a blessed day,

Isabella's Sketchbook's First Design Team

Well, the long awaited Design Team is here! and take a gander at that top left badge....yep, that would be me!  I was so hoping Isabella would chose me - never expected to be asked to be the DT Leader....very very honored.
And wait til you pop over to Isabella's Sketchbook Challenge  and see all the incredible talent - they are just amazing! We each submitted a project we had done for Isabella and are using that for today's post. I know some of you have seen mine...but with just forming the team literally on Monday - we decided this would be a good way to introduce ourselves (although some of those crafty ladies did manage to find the time to produce brand new cards for today!)

In honor of this being the first Design Team for Isabella's Sketch Challenge, everyone is invited to participate in this week's challenge with ANY Isabella image of their choice AND the winner will receive:

SIX FREE IMAGES of their choice
AND
the gorgeous new "I Won" Badge.
You may submit more than one project as long as the main image is a different Isabella image.

You don't have any Isabella's, then pop over to my sidebar and grab that gorgeous freebie !! now you can play (:

We have so many plans for this Challenge Blog - there will be all types of challenges, Blog Hops, fun, prizes, candy...every week something different! Starting out, we will continue to use the random selector as the winner. BUT as we grow...we will have additional winners chosen by the Design Team.

So come on and join us - who can resist the chance for SIX FREE IMAGES!!! and starting from the very beginning with a new challenge blog!

hugs to everyone,
have a blessed day!

Didnt get to work on a single card....
Still want to get the Design Team Members listed on the left - but am at work - "trying" to work LOL

new image for Mother's Day from Phindy

it's so retro and I love it....I remember hanging out all our clothes - when I was a kid with my mother and then when I was first married. Still love the smell of clothes dried outside - but GIVE ME MY DRYER!

thought about coloring the clothes on the line..but remembering when my kids were babies - I was constantly washing and hanging out diapers!!!

found this poem a long time ago online...I am so sorry that I didnt keep the source - have used this poem often in cards made for customers and friends for Mother's Day - but this image is great for a birthday, new baby, memories, just to do a retro card....possibilities go on and on......so won't keep typing (:

Colored the image with Copics, sponged the sky with Memento Sky Blue, made the yo-yo with ribbon and added the little baby embellishments from table confetti for a baby shower that I helped to decorate.
Hope you enjoyed this - if you would like to have this image by Phindy, click here - it's called Spring Breeze !

Have a blessed day,

hi there everyone,

Friday is our reveal on Phindy's Place Challenge Blog! for the challenge winner from last week's challenge AND the top three blinkie awards!!

We also kickoff the new challenge!   This week our challenge is "Ribbons"....(remember to use only a Phindy image).
If you don't have any Phindy's yet, pop over to Phindy's Papercraft Planet group, there are some lovely freebies over there.

This week the challenge winner, picked by Random.org, will get a $8 Gift Certificate to use in Phindy's store. The second and third prize winners will receive 5% off vouchers to use in the store. And there's more! Each week a Top Three will be picked from the entries and they will be able to display a winner's banner on their blog. So with six prizes in all you stand a great chance of winning!

This is done with the Phindy image Contentment
The sentiment is a rubber stamp from Inkadinkado (I believe purchased from Michael's, but dont quote me on it)... liked using two different ribbons and making the yo-yo out of ribbon then putting the button in the center!  what do you think about using the two different nesties together?

hope you can join us in our second challenge! would love to visit your blog and see your creation!

i made this card with THREE other challenges in mind but lost my list! dont have a clue what they were....I wrote them down thinking I didnt need to remember - they were written down! went to get the piece of paper that should have been  exactly where I am SURE I put it.....nope - gone....the question really is....where did I put it, right?
I know one was another ribbon challenge, one a baby and and and....(sigh - doesnt make any difference now!)   OH well, THIS is the challenge that counts, RIGHT!!!  LOL

Linda

Super simple an adorable

Hello,
Had fun this evening making something soooooooo simple and yet PERFECT for that little something to stick in a card your sending.....one of those "why didnt I think of that" things...can mail it also since it's sooooo light weight (if you don't add a ton of stuff heheeeehhheee)....what is it?

It's from Karen, hostess for STV's Anything But a Card Challenge , to "Create an acrylic bookmark, then decorate with stamped images".

Got to use some of that acrylic cardstock that has been sitting in my paper drawer for over a year AND some colored images that just havent worked with anything yet....woooo hooooo! and now I have 5 adorable acrylic bookmarks, ready to give to co-workers, friends, family - just because!  This is the one I'm keeping to use in my pocket New Testament that I keep in the car.

like most of us, I have made a ton of bookmarks but I really like using the acrylic!
this is made with GKD's "By Your Side" by Asela...

Karen has some beautiful ones on the the challenge link above - I want to CAS the one she did with the seashells (we can finally purchase that set tonight at 10pm after the release party at STV)

These were fun!
TIP: I used adhesive for vellum so it wouldnt show since you apply the adhesive to the colored side of your image...on a couple of the others I made ..did use regular adhesive, just in small pieces over the darker colored areas...worked fine!

Have a blessed day,

Timeless Treasure locket

hi there,
was browsing through my Gina K stamps (and that's a LOT of browsing)....looking for a stamp that would work for a vintage card - just in that kinda mood, ya know.  Anyway, decided on the set "Timeless Treasures" by Theresa Momber.  Had my locket cameo done, stamped the sentiment I wanted to use - and now was stuck on my background...doing this card completely backwards from starting with a layout or even a color selection....just kinda of "goin with the flow"....just in that kinda mood, ya know (:

so somewhere in my "grazing" through huge box of stash paper - there it was.....an already mounted piece of embossed foil on blue cardstock (i left out I had stamped and matted my sentiment in purple)....oh well, restamped the sentiment - went with black for matting and base....here it is....so what happened to the vintage I was going for??? I dont know...but was tickled because this now works for Sharri's Blast from the Past Challenge over on STV: to  use embossed foil.....just amazing sometimes how it all comes together!

this was actually a really quick card - if I dont count my "browsing time"  (smile!)

have a beautiful blessed day,

Cards for two challenges at STV

Good morning - having to post these quick - they are already over on STV...

the first is for Tina's color challenge to use royal blue, yellow and red!!!  wow - had to think on this one. These bright colors are a little out of the ordinary for me....used Gina K's "Retro Boutique" by Asela...and paper pieced the dress. Used Cosmo Cricket's Garden Variety dp and the Peony and Fancy tags nesties...flowers and brads from stash!

this second card is for Gina's two-fold challenge to:
First, make a card that would make someone smile, lift their spirits or will let them know you were thinking about them or could use a little pick-me-up and then mail it to them.

used images from Gina's "Spring Mix" set.... cardstock from GKD, colored with copics, ribbon from stash, and background stamp is from Michaels.

well, tonight after work is my Bible study with the women in jail - would really appreciate your prayers....also, would you please pray for my dear sister-in-Christ, Fiona - she is having some serious physical problems and currently in the hospital - if you would like to send her some encouragement, you can pop onto her blog from here.  I know she would appreciate it....thanks so much

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge #27

Good morning, was glad I got a chance to color up an image for Mo's Challenge. Peggy continues as our hostess and she's put together a fun sketch for us to follow. You can flip it, rotate it... whatever!! Just as long as the main elements obviously are similar to this sketch.
I've been wanting to color this little prairie girl for so long! She didnt quite fit into my largest circle nestie, so I cut her out then matted her...."creative license" LOL.....

colored her with Copics, matted her onto SU Elegant Eggplant, designer paper is from Basic Grey, and cardstock is SU Almost Ameythst. Ribbon and embellishment from stash....
didnt finish the inside...still havent decided how I want to use it.

hope you like her! you can enlarge picture if you want to see detail....

have a blessed day,

love "Koi" - what???

they're beautiful "goldfish" type fish.....not a fish person but I believe that's the "type" of fish they are....they are beautiful!!  had a friend years ago who had a HUGE specially built fish pond thingy that had these fish in it....they were beautiful, varied in colors and actually pretty big. There were gorgeous water lilies growing across it and everyone always enjoyed sitting on the edge and watching them....but Friends moved....sold their home...new owner trashed the pond!  no fairy tale fishy story LOL

Have been wanting to use this set since I got it last month...finally got it inky for Vicki's sketch challenge over on STV...will also go to the JUGS color challenge this week!

let's see....the background is the Shaving Cream Technique (with pale plum, sage, pretty in pink) and colored with Copics. The cs is from SU (pale plum, sage, white), CB folder, nesties and stash ribbon!
You can see this whole set here from Gina K by Asela called "By Your Side"!

Concentrated on the sketch so much that I forgot JUGS had a twist on their color challenge to make the card a Birthday Card to celebrate Lisa's B-Day...so did the inside!
Happy Birthday Lisa!

now have to stop - go get some groceries (much needed!), get back here and get dinner going so I can get back to some stamping!!!!

have a beautiful weekend!

GKD Illustrator Challenge for April's Guest Designer

Challenge: Choose favorite children's book and make a project inspired by the book. Include photo of book along with why you chose it and how it inspired your project. Your card must be created with one of the new March release sets and your inspiration is your favorite children's book!

That was an easy choice...Both of my girls (now soon to be 32 and 30) and my grankids loved....

this pic is from the internet - both of my daughters  have this book now for their kids....always fun to read and the younger ones STILL always love it - can read to our 3yr old Lily over and over....that little bird's travels in trying to find his mother never got boring to them. Always had fun changing voices with each "answer" the little bird got...
Did any of you read this one to your kids?

so for my card, this sweet image from Gina K's "Spring has Sprung" by Rupa just fit perfectly.....don't have a skinny legged bird image...but an adorable duck asking the same question is so cute!!!

wish I had had an ole hound dog stamp or image to use also...oh well! ..it is what it is....right?

kept the card simple -  the image is too cute to be covered in too much "stuff". It's colored with Copics and designer paper is from Basic Grey...flower from stash.

I had grand ideas of entering several cards this month, but just coming back from vacation so time is short! btw, thank you for the book suggestions...will be going to Barnes & Noble later in the week! really am going to start taking time to read instead of always making cards.....OMG! did I really type that !!!!!  thud....me hitting floor in shock (:

see ya tomorrow!

Isabella's 2nd Challenge and a FREEBIE !!

Came home from week in West Virginia Friday evening - had a really nice time with MIL and friends DH grew up with...and our oldest daughter and her family...(grankids Maggie and Thomas - they were a blast!)...fried chicken for 20 on Thursday!!! so unhealthy but soooooo good!!!! Didnt do ANY crafting (thankful that my auto-posts worked) so as soon as we got home....DH went straight to his office and I went straight to my craft room!!! we were both glad to be home....emerged about two hours later and had dinner together...then back to our "spaces"....gotta love it!!!  now....
Using Isabella's image Petunias for Isabella's 2nd Challenge :

1. Must use a digi stamp from Isabella's Sketchbook
2. Must be a floral/garden theme
3. There must be a round element somewhere on the card

and combined it with the sketch from MoJo Monday's. Unusual to combine two sketches but these went together perfectly. I love petunias....especially the purple ones.

colored with Copics, used Basic Grey stash dp, mini pearls and nestie! The winner of Isabella's challenge will be chosen at random and will receive a $6.00 gift certificate to Isabella's Sketchbook.

NOW....I'm really excited to share that over at Isabella's at PCP, she reached her first 100 followers!!! AND has given a Freebie to all members of her group over at PCP (pop over and join us...you'll see some familar faces!!)....freebie is adorable and I just had to make a card with it....

quick and simple (there is glitter but you know how that goes in a pic)...going to make several with this sentiment - can add anything I want to... as I need it.... on the inside!
such an adorable digi - and did I say "it's free!!!"   LOL

well, back to coloring....will sleep sometime tomorrow !! and when I awake...promise to stop by and visit and leave some "luv" everywhere.....so glad to be home!

have a blessed day,

Sketch Girls sketch challenge - sponsor is PHINDY'S PLACE!

This week over at Sketch Girls the sponsor is Phindy's Place!.

Here's what Sketch Girls is letting us know about Phindy's Place:

Phindy's Place digital stamps is a new venture for children's book illustrator Philomena O'Neill (aka Phindy). For someone who has always drawn a lot of young children and animals, drawing digi stamps has felt like a natural fit for her. As a professional illustrator, Phindy draws her stamps as detailed and fully realized images. She sees her digital images as a collaboration between two artists - her own imaginative line work art and the crafter's talent and vision in coloring and embellishing that art to create a finished card!

Check out the links above....you have until April 14th at 9pm EST to enter  - the winner is chosen at random and will receive a $10 gift certificate to Phindy's!!

My card is done with Phindy's Counting Sheep image.
colored with Copics and using stash dp and ribbons

now which one is "my sweet lamb"? this is so adorable....also will be entering it in the challenge over at Phindy's Group on PCP......AND dont forget ......
April 12th - Phindy's first challenge + Design Team Announcement = prizes, fun, and inspiration galore!!

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge #25 - Pastels

This week over at Mo's Weekly Challenge , our challenge hostess for April, Peggy Marsh, challenged us to do a card in "pastels"..
This image of Mo's appealed to me because what I wouldn't give to have some time "off the roller coaster" and instead... just kicking back and spending a couple days at my own leisure.....big sigh.....don't usually feel that way - but last couple of months at work have really worn me out- pity party time !! LOL

ok, enough whining....here's my card....colored with copics...SU dp
another big sigh....she looks so comfy  (-:
ok, I'm going to read a book....i really do love to read...

need some suggestions - love mystery and romance!!

have a blessed day,

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #5 - Distressing

This week's challenge over at Sassy Cheryl's is  DISTRESSING....can sponge, tear, layer, etc

I have been wanting to color this cute rabbit...I think of him as the "juggler hare"...don't know why !!!

pardon the exremely poor attempt at French...the only thing I know is "soup du jour"!
you can see my choice of distressing:  tearing and sponging...colored him with Copics, dp is from SU.

if you're reading this, then my auto post worked! I'm actually away and worry if this will work or not...and on time!!! the next couple of days are cards made this past weekend and auto-posted. Have gone to hills of West Virginia with DH to visit my MIL... along with our oldest daughter and her family - but home there is too small to craft ... glad to be spending time with them!

hope you have a great day,

PS I just realized I never posted this over on the challenge!!!! just goes to show I was doing tooooo many things at once....what a goober!
