shadow box card with Festive Frame

Well, this is my last card as Guest Designer for Melanie showcasing her set "Festive Frame"...I was honored to have been asked to Guest Design this set....hope you were inspired by something you saw here using this gorgeous set! It will fit into anytime of the year...combine it with her "A Year of Flowers" and you are set!!!

This was really a tough one to get a good picture of the shadow box - probably becaused I used the black!

the candle is raised on dimensionals on the inside for even more depth!

Details -
cut 2 - 4.25 x 5.50 pieces of cardstock (this is actually the size of an A2 card and slides into envelope!)
score both pieces 1/2" and 1" from either side...
on the top piece - cut your desired opening and lay this piece on top of the other piece so you can see where you will be stamping onto the second piece (if you are using a dark color like I did - then cut a 3 x 5.50 piece of card stock to fit into the center of the bottom piece)...
stamp your image onto the bottom piece...(or stamp onto another piece of cs, cutout and piece)
stamp your top piece how you want and add embellishments...
when ready to put your "shadow card" together, use double stick tape and apply to the bottom piece with the side facing up on the 1/2" flap. Carefully line up one side and adhere and then the other side.
There you have it!

On my card:
colored the inside white cardstock with SU Saffron on the borders and Summer Sun in the center...
colored the candle with Copics and paper pieced using dimensionals, liquid applique on top of candle...
colored the top piece with the Festive Frame set with Y28 on the oval border, Copic reds for poinsettias and ribbon, greens for holly, purple on berries and browns for pinecones...
bottom poinsettia added gold glimmer mist and mini gold pearls (bottom poinsettia is from A Year of Flowers)...
sentiment also from Festive Frame using Marvy scallop punch...
and gold stickles!
paper was GKD's white and black
ink was Memento Black, SU Real Red

well, getting ready to do some serious cooking for Thursday!!
have a blessed day,

PS  Thanks again, Melanie :)

and just in case you aren't here from her blog - here is the card posted on Melanie's blog..
