Our challenge was to create using a Fall theme and it must be a Shaker....so I used GKD's Showtime Stamp sets "signs of autumn" and "thanks a million".
You should have come from Miesje's Blog Weren't her shakers amazing!! and You can always start the hop right from STV...
This first card is the one I had done last week for this hop prior to my new grandaughter being born..had intended to embellish it more but kinda like it with sentiment being the focal. Cardstock is GKD's Green Grass and dp is Basic Grey's "Pyrus"
i know - i did a green pumpkin..but i wanted to use that gorgeous orange mesh stuff and thought it was too much orange if I framed my shaker using orange also...
TIP: dont use popcorn for a shaker - i had to triple stack my pop dots!!! grooooaaannnnn....
so after being gone a few days, when I came home the other night my craft desk still had everything out from making the above card...so I made another one before putting everything away...here you go!
the cardstock is GKD's Sand
used the red, yellow and gold Gelato's (love working with those, thanks Jennie!)
shaker is filled with Gala Glitz gold...pic doesnt show the leafs in the shaker stamped lighter
TIP: if you dont have those pop dots sitting tight next to each other, the tiny beads in the glitz come rolling out...what a mess!!!
so I am DONE doing Shaker Cards for awhile.... now that you have a couple tips on what NOT to use LOL...head over to STV and enjoy Gina's Tutorial on Creating a Shaker Card they really are easy
I made it difficult on myself (-:
now your next stop is over to Karen's wonderful blog She has no problem creating shakers ...
thanks so much for joining in our hop...hope you are getting some inspiration and looking forward to seeing your shaker card over on STV!
hugs

Linda, your cards are great. I love the green pumpkin and I got your hint about the popcorn...LOVE that Gala Glitz though.
HA! Love the corn kernels for shakin with the roster - perfect! :)
Fun and ca-ute, followed by glitzy and gorgeous! Love them both!
First Congradulations on being a Grandma this week :)!!!
Now initially I thought that the popcorn was a great idea - until I read furthor :), and I do understand about the small beads - mine kept trying to exscape too :) Great cards though!!! I like that orange mesh too!!
Darling cards. Tfs!
Thanks for the tip on not using popcorn. I think your cards are great.
Fantastic cards! Love how the shaker element adds so much to a card. The pop corn is ingenious even if you say not to use it.
Blessings Bernie
wow - amazing cards. Love the pumpkin one and you're right, and orange one would have distracted from the lovely mesh.
Both cards are adorable and even though you had to triple stack your pop dots using popcorn is a cute idea!
Linda, what great cards. I too have stacked pop dots to put 'larger' items like beads in. They are so much fun:)
Great cards! Thanks for the tip about the pop corn. I love the card with the glitz.
Beautiful cards! Love the fact that you used kernels on the first with the rooster and think it was so worth the extra stacking. Your card is so elegant and using gold beads and such inside your shaker on the second card (sorry about all the mess - yikes!)
Both are lovely made autumn cards. ^_^
LOL We can always use tips on what not to do so that is much appreciated! Great cards! TFS!

Putting me in a Fall mood! Love your use of colour and the fun ideas - thanks!
I love the cards, Grandma! So innovative. I love the texture of the pumpkin card, and the gold flakes in the other card looks like you stuck the "mother lode"!

could not leave a comment using my Google account - said I was not authorized. Hmmmmm
Funny! I would be the one that didn't get the dots close enough! LOL Love the one with the pop corn in it.
I love the colours you used in this card. Love the pumpkin shape.
Linda, your cards turned out beautifully, despite some hiccup trying to keep the shaker fill in. Loved them!! Hope you're having a wonderful day!! {{hugs}}
So pretty. Can't wait to try this.
Your rooster card turned out great and the thanks a million just glows. Beautiful work!!!
Great cards, gotta love that popcorn
Linda, I love your green pumpkin. I have never made one of these, so thanks for the tips of what NOT to do! Your second card is so pretty with the glitsy shaker.
Both of these are lovely Linda..
Fun to see the ideas of shaking other things from outside the craft room! Got me thinking......
tfs two great shaker cards (& tips).
GREAT cards Linda! Love all of your helpful tips, as I am heading into the craft room later today.....lots of pop dots within reach! :) TFS!!
Love the cards! Great job!
Thanks so much for all the tips. They are greatly appreciated!
They're both gorgeous, Linda! The second is so rich and luxurious!
Both of your shakers are fantastic despite the "issues" you had with the shaker contents! The green pumpkin is really fun and your second card is so elegant with the gold glitz in it. Nicely done, and thanks for the tips on what not to do with shakers!
Great cards. Love the chicken one. Thanks
Both cards are just beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing...:-)
Through your frustration you have created some great cards. I liked the green pumpkin. Thanks for the tips. Sorry that you had to experience first hand what not to do. Now you can make use of your own tips and continue to make pretty shaker cards.

Another adorable filler idea! I just love both your cards!
Hello!
I love shaker cards and your's are great! Very creative fillers!
Wishing you a good weekend!
Hugs,

Loved the 2nd card. Have lots of little beads in my stash from my needlecrafts days and this is a great way to use them.
Cards are great. Sounds like you were challenged on both:-) but the results were worth it...right?
This really is a gorgeous card. I love the card!! Thank you for sharing. Jodi
I have had some of your same problems with shaker boxes. Watching Gena's video will help with future attemps.
Congratulations on your new granddaughter.

Gorgeous cards Linda! Love the corn filler.
Oh my your cards are awesome! Love what you used for the shaker part in both cards TFS
Beautiful
Thanks for the tips..Not too thick..NOT too thin...oh boy...this will be a challenge!!! :-)) BUT you did a great job...and I LIKE the looks you came up with!!! Gorgeous work!!!
Love both of your cards. Thanks for the tips also. I have used popcorn before & a tip you might use is that I put the corn in a plastic bag & crushed it with a hammer. It makes like a corn mash.
Great cards! WOWZERS, love the fall leaves with "sand" & charms, gorgeous!
Both cards are great - love the elements you used on these
I like both of your cards, but especially the "gold"!
Both cards are great. Thanks for the tip on what not to do! LOL!
Great cards!
Oooohh! Both cards are super cute - love your ideas! Thanks for sharing!
Love your shaker cards! The popcorn is such a fun idea!
Congrats on the grandma news! Such a blessing! I love your cards, really loved your tips. Really loved the second card with the gold, the chicken and corn is just too fun! We thought a lot alike this time around.
I love these Fall window cards! So cool. Nice card!
Love both of your cards, but I really like the corn! That would be fun to shake!
Love you cards, such talent. Thanks for the tips.
Sandy
I love both of your cards! Even though it took extra pop dots- the popcorn looks great! I love how you put together the elements in the 2nd card too.
awesome cards, love the idea of popcorn...makes it look so real
I'm sorry you had problems with your shaker cards, but thanks for the tips you gained! Both of the cards are wonderful.
Linda- You know if you didn't tell us, we would have never guessed that you had issues-hahaha.. Both cards turned out beautifully!
Super great cards. Just love them! I really need to make a shaker card!
Gorgeous cards, Linda! Love them despite the little oopsies you experienced! You did an awesome job!
Thanks for the helpful hints! Really like both cards
Oh my gosh Linda - these are really gorgeous! I am so impressed by the beautiful and creative materials everyone is using inside of their shaker cards!
Great cards.
Both your cards are great and I love your artistic licence on the green pumkin ...totally agree you HAD to use that orange mesh. Thanks for the "what not to do's" gold sparklies everywhere...that would be me!
So much fun! Beautiful cards with the GK stamps. Microwave your corn before using it to kill any bug eggs, all grain comes with things that hatch when you least expect it. Freezing slows it down, but doesn't stop it.
The corn is oh too cute...great fun, thanks for sharing.
Great card, so pretty and creative!! I can't wait to give this a go, sitting here thinking on ideas, wonder if someone already used one along the way before I get done this hop, thought about your corn Idea as my husband uses corn to feed the dear with our grandson at a local park, so won't try that one as you have conquered that, want to try and think of an original one!!
Great job.
THanks
Donna
I sure am liking all the different things that are being put into the shaker cards, such creative ideas.
Wow, thanks for the advice. Your cards are gorgeous!!
gorgeous cards

Great cards! Thanx for telling us what not to do when making shaker cards.
Linda, great shaker cards. Thanks for the tip on what not to use for shakers. Fab colors.
Great cards..Thought the popcorn was so cute but thanks for the heads up on what not to do.
I'll have to post as Anonymous since Google isn't working for me on this site. I wanted to say that perseverance conquers all and mistakes are the result of learning. Then you shared those experiences with us and we don't have to go through the same thing. Thank you! venicepat@hotmail.com
Susan said: I think your cards are wonderful. Thanks for the tips on what not to do -- very useful for those of us who have never made a shaker card before!
