Stamp TV's September CSS Alumni Blog Hop

Hi there
Welcome to a Color Combination challenge blog hop hosted by members of the Gina K.' CSS Alumni team. Today we are featuring hand drawn sets designed by Melanie Muenchinger and Theresa Momber .
As you hop along make sure to leave a comment because on Tuesday morning (September 25),
we will randomly choose two comments from all the blogs and two lucky individuals
will receive a Gina K. Designs Stamp set each
(the winners will receive either a set designed by Melanie Muenchinger or Theresa Momber).

For this month's Hop, our awesome team mate Sharri Seffens has given us this color combination:
Pumpkin Spice, Fresh Asparagus and Sweet Corn plus
neutral colors (white, ivory, black, and brown)
 are also fine to incorporate.

To be sure you are on track, you should be coming from blog of the  beautiful talent of Kay Simmons.

First up for me, is Theresa Momber's set "Under the Sea".
This month I decided to use some favorite techniques that I don't use often...and one is this first card - reverse masking! Using Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Squares I cut out the square and then set it over the card to sponge and stamp. Had stamped and masked my turtle...fun easy CAS card!

this is another simple card - paper pieced the fish  (i do paper piece a lot!)
aren't these fish wonderful!

next is my card using Melanie's Stately Flowers 4 (did you see her new release this month!...it's a must have!)and sentiment from Melanie's Holiday Basket. For this card I blocked and masked! almost forgot how to block and had to "think" LOL
colored with waterbrush and Memento's Potter Clay ink and finally caved in and had to use some Copics (Y08, YR31, YR02, RV42, E37, G99 - strange selection but I like it ok)
Now I was nervous stamping my sentiment directly in middle
and don't you just know I got it crooked!

Remember to leave a comment because on Tuesday morning (September 25),
we will randomly choose two comments from all the blogs and two lucky individuals
will receive a Gina K. Designs Stamp set each
(the winners will receive either a set designed by Melanie Muenchinger or Theresa Momber).
Next, you are off to awesome blog of Melissa Cash ..

Enjoy and hope you were inspired
hugs

These are amazing, Linda, i love how you chose scalloped die for the reverse masking and these repeated hibiscus with the sentiment in the middle just blows me away! (Shh you don't have to point out a crooked sentiment if no one notices!)

Love all the shading you did on each card and no, your sentiment is not crooked. If it is, then I must be crooked because it looked straight to me.

Hi Linda,
I LOVE your card designs, but I must say the hibiscus card has caught my eye and I would love to know how to create this effect. I also saw when I went on your blog page the link to the song "because He lives I can face tomorrow" and now I have been singing this over and over again. What a great start to my day! Thank you for sharing and the great reminder of that song!

Simply beautiful cards! I love them all, but the favorite is the Hibiscus flowers for me! And the sentiment does not look crooked to me, but I do have an eye problem so struggle with getting things on straight! As someone pointed out, the cards are handmade so may not be perfect! They are still wonderful! Corrine Ann

Beautiful cards. Love the Under the Sea cards and the added clear crystal accents for bubbles. Simple and creative hibiscus card. Excellent coloring technique.

Each of these cards is beautiful. The fish that are paper pieced sure look handpainted - great job selecting that paper! The reverse mask card is lovely - I must say it doesn't LOOK easy! The last card of the flowers is just gorgeous - and the sentiment doesn't look crooked to me. "Blocking" is very effective - I'll have to do some research on that. TFS

Betty Neville said...

All are so beautiful, Linda! Especially love your fish - you've really made them come to life! Have never tried blocking and masking - will have to google that!
