Hi there,
This is the beginning of a new challenge over at the Digi Doodle Shop Challenge Blog and the challenge this week is ...anything WORK RELATED !
One of the things I love about the Digi Doodle Shop images is their ability to "take me back in time"...this image called Canned Peaches is just one of those images.
Oh my...havent canned peaches in years and years...and as a kid - used to love picking peaches from my Pa-Paw's peach trees and then "trying" to help my Ma-Maw....who would usually offer up a nice sweet peach to get us out of the kitchen. It was such a teeny tiny kitchen and you can imagine how much we were probably in the way. Her kitchen counter wasnt any wider than about 2 feet. She would use it which was next to the small stove and then also the side of the sink that hung on the wall and the tiny kitchen table (which I still have and keep in my laundry room. It has the porcelain enamel table top) to skin and pit and can her peaches... but didn't we love it when fresh peach cobbler or peach pie was served...oh what sweet memories!
can peaches sure don't beat Canned Peaches !!!
Colored with Pencils and OMG (odorless mineral spirits)
sentiment is from Studio K ($1 stamp from Michaels)
Cardstock is SU's Not Quite Navy and retired SU designer paper and stash gingham ribbon
distressed with Ranger's Burlap ink
Hope you get to join us....
remember the random big winner will receive the winner's badge and a $10 gift certificate to shop at the Digi Doodle Shop AND there are also 2 runners up who will get a badge to wear on their blogs. You don't have to use a Digi Doodle Shop image, but are entered twice if you do!
Oh I want a beautiful fresh, ripe peach now some kinda bad....
hugs,

I can almost feel the fabric on those kitchen curtains, and feel the fuzz on the peaches! A very nostalgic card indeed!
