Crafters of Faith 1st Group challenge

hi there,
This card was a real joy to create. Our blogging group, Crafters of Faith, was challenged by our Leader- Kelly, to create a card or scrapbook page that should include an image of something that best depicts your thoughts and heart-feelings of what Genesis and the creation means to you and at least one of these colors of the creation: Yellow, Blue, Green and/or Brown!

have the yellow, blue, a little green but also added purple (for royalty)

Changed my mind so many times in making this card. Decided finally on creating a night and day background with the butterfly representing our change when we "put off the old man" and "put on the new" when we accept his wonderful gift of salvation! When our Lord created this world for us, he knew we would need a Saviour...so John 3:16 naturally comes to mind....

Can't wait to pop around to the rest of the group's blogs and see what they created!

have a blessed day,
supplies:
cardstock: GKD's Wild Lilac, In the Navy, White

Our "Crafters of Faith Group" mini color challenge

Hi there,
Our leader, Kelly  challenged us to  to create using the color combos given to each of us by another blog member. Kelly gave me the combo ...
 PinkBurgundy (Cobbler, etc!), and Black!

well alrighty then - how fun to create just to create. I am on quest to use only scraps and/or designer paper that I have had for ages...this piece from Graphic 45 has been sitting in my designer paper bin for quite a long time! and I've had this flower in my stash also for quite some time....hence, my card was born LOL

now the bad part is I don't know the name of this particular paper from Graphics and I don't remember what punch I used to make the flower....sorry!

I sponged the dp with Memento Rose Bud, and I do know the cardbase is Cranberry Tart from GKD, also used Spellbinders "Twisted Metal Tags and Accents" for tag and embellishment behind flower, pearls, scrunched burgundy seam binding (love that stuff) and colored lightly with Copic RV21...

went for the vintage look - hope you like!

hugs and blessings,

Sugar Creek Hollow Challenge

Welcome to another Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow and a new challenge.
This week we want you to GO GIRLY and make very feminine vintage, shabby chic or primitive cards.

not sure what the inside sentiment will be...I like having option to decide later!
hope you get to join us - I really love visiting everyone and seeing how you do vintage (-:
remember....
One random winner will receive a digi of our choice and a winner's badge to display.
In addition, the Design Team will choose one project as Card of the Week and the creator will receive a badge and will be in the running for a Guest Designer spot.
Check out the girly vintage cards created by our incredible Design Team . We are joined this week by a wonderfully creative Guest Designer, Claire Chapman.

This week over at the Speedy the Fox Challenge Blog , we were challenged to create
" a birthday card"
Now that's easy - hope to see EVERYONE in this challenge! Hope you pop over and check out the rest of the Speedy the Fox Design Team's birthday cards (-:

kept my card simple with the focus on the gorgeous rose from the new MFP set "Love Remains"....and the sentiment is from the MFP set "Buffalo Spring" ...

continuing to use stash dp and cardstock - this one has SU's Not Quite Navy base with scraps of green cardstock (but I dont know whose) for matting...i'm pretty sure the dp is retired Stampin Up also...
had a piece of scrunched seam binding that I just laid across panel before adhering my rose...

used a different combo of Copics on this rose : R08, 89, 81...BV23...G24, 28

Sugar Creek Hollow Challenge

Hi again, I have been anxious for this challenge - love love love coloring this one (-:

Welcome to another Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow. This week we have a great challenge - EMBOSSING. You can create your vintage, shabby chic or primitive card with dry or heat embossing.

Join us in saying hello to Digi Doodle Shop, a lovely new sponsor who will be providing one random winner with a $10 gift certificate to their store.
The random winner will also receive a winner's badge from Sugar Creek Hollow to display on her blog. In addition the Design Team will select one project as Card of the Week and the creator of that card will receive a badge to display and will be in the running for a Guest Designer spot.
The Design Team has used a number of the fabulous images from Digi Doodle Shop and have created some wonderful inspiration for you.

I dry embossed but it doesnt show well ..used my Score Buddy and scored the lines in the designer paper (my wallpaper) ...

This image was a real joy for me but for a personal reason - My Grandmother aka MawMaw, had a hutch (or "stand" as she called it) so similar to this one....along with the lamp, perfume bottles, pitcher, hat, books (she was a school teacher) and vase of flowers. In that little pink pot - she kept her Bobby pins!! who remembers spinning and curling our hair with them LOL....In her picture frame was a pic of her mother - very stern looking lady in a black and white picture. This stand sat over by her bed....its been almost 30 years since she passed but it feels like yesterday in so many ways...
the only thing she didnt regularly have on her hutch was the teddy bear (that was upstairs in the very old crib she hung onto ..and I wish I had kept ...big sigh)..Anyway, coloring this image was a welcome open door to my childhood and treasured memories.

hope this has in some way inspired you....and you get time to enter our challenge this week.
hugs,

Sugar Creek Hollow Challenge

Happy New Year and welcome to our first challenge of 2012 at Sugar Creek Hollow. This week we want you to save some trees and RE-PURPOSE PAPER TOWELS, TOILET PAPER OR COFFEE FILTERS. Instead of buying some designer paper for your project, go to your kitchen or bathroom and grab one of the above items and let's see how you can transform it and incorporate it into your vintage, shabby chic or primitive card or other paper-crafted project

This week one random winner will receive a digi of our choice and a winner's badge to display. In addition, the Design Team will choose one project as Card of the Week and the creator will receive a badge and will be in the running for a Guest Designer spot. Our new Design Team is in place and everyone has worked hard to create some inspiration for you. If you want details on how they re-purposed the various items, head over to the Sugar Creek Hollow Blog. and click on their names to go directly to their blogs.

I used some round coffee filters and took some pics of a few of my steps.  Details and supplies used at bottom of post

Using Layers of Color set "Dotted Peonies" by Nina Brackett...

Details:
sponged the leaves and flower images with Ranger's Distress Inks - Aged Mahogany, Mustard Seed, and Worn Lipstick. Took a 4 x 5.25 piece of cranberry cardstock and added stick glue all over it, then laid down the sponged filter and folded the edges over the cardstock. Ran it through the Cuttlbug using the Victoria folder....really enjoying this technique!
cut out the flower and layered it three times and added pearl brad.  Matted it onto scrap light green cardstock.
The base card is cranberry, sponged with white pigment around edges..then stamped with a "crackle" stamp using gold pigment ink.  Ribbons are from stash...

There you go! I like working with these filters MUCH more than with tissue paper!

so my first post as a member of this fabulous Design Team is now done....now I can breath (-:
