Paper Cupcakes Monday Challenge

This week Design Team Member Nilla Berglie has given us the challenge to ..."use any technique for distressing, roughing up your paper with your scissors, distressing with inks, sanding, scraping, pounding (hehe - do this method if your are mad at someone with your meat tenderizer ;o) ~ any technique you would consider a method to distress "
So I combined several different types of distressing using this week's image "Lucky Bear"...

This first one uses two techniques for distressing: sponging and scraping the edges of the paper. I used my small cutting scissors to scrape the edge (can't find the little circle distress tool that I have here ...somewhere!)

and this one below, I dont know what the one distress technique is called (have a total memory block) so I'm calling it "Vintage scrunching"  and tearing LOL.... "Vintage scrunching"  is balled up background paper, really tight, and then opened and smoothed it out...tore side of  mat, added scrunched flowers (dag-gone it..what is this technique called?)
colored both bears with Copics..but not blending colors as much to keep a "rougher older" distressed look...
(dag-gone what are those flowers.. made like this.. called???)

Well this is my last post as Guest Designer for Paper Cupcakes. I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Most of you know I recently started working with digi's and these were my first images! I want to send a special thank you to Nina for being so patient with me. I was so terribly late on getting several posts to her (one word - SNOW) and she was just so sweet! and a special thank you to all of the Design Team for their support and encouraging comments! They are a super talented group of ladies!! So while I'm no longer part of the "team", I will be back to join in the Paper Cupcake challenges and I wish Nina incredible success with her line of images!!
Have a wonderful day and blessed week!

PS I entered these in the challenge over at Paper Sundae to do distressed cards!

Hi Linda,
These are gorgeous cards. I love the distressed look and you have used so many techniques (whatever they may be called) and they all hang together so well. I love the bear.
Will be thinking of you as you visit tonight.
