Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge #20 - a sketch

well, you know I'm officially addicted to the images by Mo Manning !! and lovin it. Each Thursday is a new challenge. This week it's a sketch from DT member Dawn Burnworth. This is her last challege for February. I have thoroughly enjoyed each one and love visiting her blog...March brings a new challenge hostess...Cathy Edgar! and oh my does she create gorgeous cards!

Here's Dawn's sketch:

and here's my card....

This card is for a friend who has two sons and her oldest is headed to Iraq. Her sons are very close. The younger son is still in high school and wants to follow in his older brother's footsteps. He is really literally mourning his older brother being gone. She asked me if I could do a card that would cheer him up...how perfect was this image!!!!! I brought it up on my computer and she fell in love with it.....I'm hoping she will be pleased when she sees it colored! Those two little guys are so adorable arent they ??? (-:

details: stamp from Mo is called "Isaiah", sentiment from GKD's "Inside andOut" (you can pop over to purchase either of them from my sidebar  - and Gina is giving away a free stamp set for any $35 purchase!! wooo hoooooo!!!)
paper: all from stash box, base is black with brown mat, triangles are SU dp
ink: Mementp Black
Copics: B21, B32, B45, B93, B97, E00, E000, E02, E33, W1, W3, Y11, BG10, BG00

Anyone have any super plans for the weekend??
....I'm hoping to take down my Christmas tree  LOL...unless any of my stamps start callin my name !!!

Hi Linda,
Wow, I love that image. It's so beautiful and has a real feel of "brothers" about it. You have made an excellent job of colouring it. Great papers and colours.
I think you should leave the tree up - start a fashion with an Easter Tree, after all Christmas was just a precursor to Easter.
Hugs,

I love this. So sweet and what a lovely card for a mom of sons. I like how you set the image panel on the diagonal and the soft colors.

I feel sorry for that younger brother.. how sad that his best friend is heading overseas. We have to pray "God Speed"... I'm a military Mom.. so I know first hand it's hard for these families. Maybe you can get him involved in Operation Write Home?? Write me if you want more info.

Your card is darling.. Not sure how you knew Cathy would be heading up this month's challenges, but when you see her first you will absolutely KICK yourself!!!

Thanks for that VERY kind note at our SCS group.. I guess I'm not good at touting or struttin'

And thanks for playing along with us again at Mo's challenge...!!

Sending hugs, Peggy
