Bleach card

Selma's "Blast from the Past" challenge over at STV this week is to use "a bleach pad" instead of an ink pad!
Now if you've never stamped or colored with bleach, pop over to STV and watch Gina's video....then give it a try! it won't hurt your stamps....now I didnt have any bleach here, so I tried something different. I have a bleach pen that I squeezed onto paper towels to make my bleach pad. Used the leaf stamp from the GKD's "Eclectic" stamp set.....

and WOW! look how WHITE it turned out....the bleach from the pen is really thick so it didnt give the detail as well as regular bleach would have...but it's a technique I think I will try again. Since the bleach was so thick, need to figure out if there is a way to blot it ...used heat gun to help it to dry and scorched it some...BUT since this card is also for Vicki's Weekly Color Challenge (get there from sidebar) which is Purple, Black and Kraft (but on my card its SU's caramel) ...the scorching helped  LOL...used glitter pen to outline each nestie but it doesnt show very well in pic and stamped over one corner of the bleached stamp to see how it looked....liked it so left it! wish I had thought to run the purple mat through the cuttlebug! oh well, next time!

Hope your day is great!

Detail:
Stamp: GKD's "Picture it" and "Eclectic"
Paper:  GKD's violet, black and SU's caramel
Ink: Memento Black, Vivid Purple
Embellishment: faux gems, ribbon from ACM
Technique: bleaching, matting, nestie

Purple is my favourite colour, so I just love this card and the details on it!

Hi Linda,
You are a case. Every time I think I am getting the hang of this crafting you come up with yet another technique I haven't heard of. Must give this a try.
Your card is lovely and the colours are gorgeous.
Take care,

I too have used the bleach pen...convenient to use. Fun part of bleaching is the surprise element...never know how it will come out. Love the way your card looks. Great colors.

Never mind the technique..which is a great technique I haven't tried...look at the composition of this card and how it leads your eye to the center....Very well done...Linda.

This turned out great! I tried using bleach once and all I got was a soaked mess. Maybe for me the gel would be better?

In-ter-esting! I like it, the thick bleach makes it looked heat embossed almost.
The scorching is perfect, love it when mistakes work to our advantage. LOL ;-]

Love the purple and white. I have never used bleach, I always wondered about damage to my stamps. I may have to give it a try.
