Crafters of Faith Blog Group

Hi there.   (scroll down to enter Heartfelt Creations hop)

Today I have posted a card based on the challenge to our Faith Based Blogging Group by Jackie. Her challenge:
We all know that February is the month of LOVE so my challenge is for you to create something with LOVE in mind.....with a bit of a twist
Usually, the cards made during this month are all red, pink & white but I want you all thinking outside the box:
I want you to use NON TRADITIONAL colors to create your project
Your creation must be made with NATURE as the main theme....flowers, trees, mountains, water---you get the idea
Finally, I want to see at least 1 circle shape on your creation".....

whew!  i had a month to think on this and here's what I came up with...
The Couple image is from Stampin Up but I have given away this set and don't remember its name and I don't remember which mountain stamp I used (sorry) i had stamped and masked this image a long time ago...colored with Prisma pencils...my "circle" is the pearls.
Had our beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in mind (they are called Blue because of their beautiful blue color from a distance...they aren't really blue LOL) Used a CB folder and the recessed frame image technique with Spellbinders Deckled Rectangles Large and small standard rectangles.

Hope you get time to visit the rest of our group and see what they came up with (-:

hugs and blessings,

STV's Mix It Up Monday Challenge

hi there,
This week at STV Regina Hardy is the Mix It Up Monday challenge hostess . She has challenged us to create using a distress technique.

"This week's challenge is to Distress a card and include some form of a Tag.  Momento inks work well in addition to Tim Holtz inks.  You may also use sandpaper, etc., as long as there is some form of distressing on the card."

I decided to go back a couple years and pulled out one of GKD's stamp sets by Nina Brackett -
 Lord of the Season

The sides of the image are distressed with Ranger's Faded Jeans, then used scissors along the edges and  sponged again - the bottom piece is white cardstock with torn edges sponged with Ranger's Antique Linen.

Matted onto SU's-Not QuiteNavy and GKD's - Green Grass cardstock - designer paper is retired from SU and ribbon is from GKD.  Colored image with various pencils .... but used Copic 31 at the base.

(I have made a REAL dent in my stash designer paper..... that's in the box under my desk LOL...only have about 4 more boxes to go)

Hope all are doing well,

Speedy the Fox Challenge #95

This week over at the Speedy the Fox Challenge Blog , Pat has challenged us to create "a Joy Fold Card"..... didn't have a clue what that was but turns out its a fabulous tutorial over on SCS - here is the link.

Using the newly released MFP set " Blessings"...here is my take on the Joy Fold card

the video on the tutorial made this so easy - I changed mine up a little...this was really a neat way to use  scraps for that smaller card that's attached to the center. Used that little flower to keep the card closed.

hope you get a chance to try it out! looking forward to visiting your entry in the challenge (-:

Designing DIVA's Oldie but Goodie Blog Hop

Hi there,
Once a month the blogging group Designing DIVA's...gets together to do an "oldie but goodie hop"...this just means that something we use has to be at least six months old.

If you're following the order of the hop, you should have come from the precious blog of Designing DIVA Vicki Patranc

For me - my 6 month old stash used is my stamp from Emerson and the retired designer paper from Stampin Up!

kept it very simple because its going to a friend over seas who needs the encouragement and doesn't go for all the embellishments anyway (-:

now your next stop is off to the fabulous Designing DIVA Maria Matter .
hope we inspire you to pull out something "old"

have fun hopping (-:
