Have a blessed day,

new GKD set "Pressed Flowers" from Melanie Muenchinger

This is another card for Gina's challenge...now this was hard only because I love this set!!! Pressed Flowers was designed by Melanie and goes with her A Year of Flowers set. My head was spinning with ideas...but can only submit one card..so stayed with just stampin this rose from the set!!! (you know I wanted to break out the watercolors or Copics or pencils and  just "go to town"!!! but thought I would just STAMP for a change LOL)

the two new colors on this card are Ocean Mist and Creme de Menthe

also used Basic Grey's Euphoria papers and stamped rose onto one of its pink sheets with Pomegranate and then embossed. Cut it out and raised it on card - love how this turned out....used the MS lace punch and nestie tag, mini mini adhesive pearls and REALLY SEWED!
yep, I pulled out the 500 ton monster from the bottom of my overfilled closet (left quite a mess for myself digging it out)...of course my DH is standing there watching me on hands n knees digging this thing out...and had to ask  "what are you doin" ? "going to sew on my card" I replied...dont know why he found that so funny! but bless his heart he busted out laughin..glad I made his afternoon KWIM! so now I 've got to put the monster away....hmmmmm, another day!
gotta get busy on my next card for the challenge!!!

may be back again tonight after church!!! wooooo hoooo!!!

oops, almost forget to tell ya'.....I am a Guest Designer for Sweet n Sassy Stamps in March - working on my first post which will be here on Tuesday!!!

new GKD set "Spring Florals"

I made this card for the new challenge Gina has posted over at STV in search of a new Center Stage Design Team Member for March (who will receive ALL the new March releases!). The requirement is to make a card using one of the new releases in February and with two colors also from the February release.
I love this card IRL, but it doesn't photograph well at all....we have until Wednesday to submit our cards, so may not submit this one. Will do another card with this set and then decide!!
The two new colors from GinaK used here are :
Creme de Menthe
Lemon Drop

The card base is  GKD's "All Spruced Up", first mat is Creme de Menthe, second mat is a light off-brown cardstock from Michaels that was run through CB folder. Image is stamped with Vivid Coffee Bean and colored with Copics, matted onto All Spruced, matted onto Lemon Drop and matted again onto Creme de Menthe. This is raised on dimensionals. The mats were distressed with the sponging technique and distress tonic tool. Added stash ribbon that matched the Creme perfectly and tied bow with GKD's new ribbon matching the Lemon Drop....and gotta love those nesties!

Copics: Y02, Y06, RV20, G21

Have a blessed day!

PS   Best wishes to everyone who enters!!! have no idea how Gina will chose...there are already the most gorgeous cards entered!!! it's for sure that someone is going to be doing the happy dance!!!

I brought it up on my computer and she fell in love with it.....I'm hoping she will be pleased when she sees it colored! Those two little guys are so adorable arent they ??? (-:

Gina K Designs Illustrator's Blog Hop

Tonight there is a twist on the hops for the new releases at Stamp TV - they are ALL being done tonight by the illustrators and the Senior Design Team!  Woooo hoooo! we get to see them all at once tonight!

For all the details on this exciting blog hop event, please check out GinaK's blog! We'd love to have you join in the hop by adding your project's direct link to Gina's blog in the Mister Linkey box.
Here are all the designers joining in the hop tonight featuring February's new stamp sets:

and Guest Designer Brenda Turner

As another Guest Designer for Theresa's "Hang in There"..
I have three cards for you...you've already seen so many...but this set is sooo cute that in this case "more" is good! right?

This one has already been posted on STV because I made it for Selma's Blast from the Past Challenge which was "paper piecing"...I stamped three frogs and pieced them together...main cardstock is GinaK's new Creme de Menthe, then SU dp is matted onto GinaK's new Lemon Drop. Frogs are colored with Copics but my list that had what I used is lost somewhere in my crafting mess!!

this one is for those of you who want to make quicker cards! used nesties, dp and ribbon! the frog is very lightly colored with watercolor pencils (plain old ones from Staples) and used OMS...had intended to just adhere this frog to the center of the card and that was it!...but just couldnt do it ...so moved the frog over and added the ribbon! Had intended to stop there BUT cannot leave open spaces LOL...so added the little butterfly - almost put a sentiment there instead...but really wanted to just do an "all occasion" easy card.....I just can't stop "adding"...hopefully you can see that if I HAD just have centered the frog...it would have been fine! CAS are tough!

another card where I let the nesties do the work..did copic the raccoon with E35, E59! flowers were done with punches using scrap cardstock...dp is from Michaels on sale this week matted on black...Base cardstock is GinaK's Creme de menthe (really love it!)
This card used:
GKD stamps: Hang in There by Theresa, Lovely Labels by Nina, and sentiment from The Journey by Asela
Ink: SU's Hunter Green, Sage Shadow

Hope you enjoyed my cards! now let's go hop!!
Hugs to everyone,

my entry for Mo's Dream Team Guest Spot challenge

Each month, Mo's Dream Team has a challenge for a Guest Designer Spot that following month.
Their Challenge for March 2010 Guest Spot is a Sketch Challenge! Can  flip or rotate the sketch, but the main elements must remain the same and can add any embellies!

Well, I'm taking the plunge - there are a lot of talented ladies that also love Mo's images and have entered....but "a turtle never gets anywhere unless he sticks his neck out!!"...so here goes!!!

Here is the sketch:

and here's my card....

well, all I can do now is just keep my fingers crossed !!

I colored him with Copics shown below...darkened his forearms and hands a little because he should be dirty (lol), made one eye bigger than the other to give him a different look and added that little bling for the train's light....and the sentiment I wrote with my computer and raised it on card! oh and I ran the ribbon under the image instead of over the panel as shown in the sketch...

Paper: SU's Taken with Teal, Celery, Burgundy and retired dp
Embellishments: stash ribbon and buttons with jute

Have blessed day!

Hope is Faith

I still have this set out from working on cards for last week's blog hop - and just wanted to do another card with it...love the sentiment and the butterfly in this set.

Used Jennie Harper's sketch over on Stamp TV (btw, this is her (oops! edit - she has 1 more) last sketch as hostess for these challenges. I'm going to miss her sketches! Almost always just stayed to her sketch because they just let a card come together practically on its own!! gonna miss her...but with all the talent over on STV - looking forward to their next Sketch Challenge Hostess...Thanks a lot Jennie! you were awesome!!)  OK, back to the card  LOL...and used Vicki's Color Challenge over on SNR (can pop over there from my sidebar) which was to "use bold colors"!

Waaaa-laaah .... my card! used Stampin Up's cardstock: Taken with Teal, Certainly Celery and dp to match. Embossed butterfly onto SU dp and paper pieced to sentiment. Stamps are GKD's "Hope is Faith" set  by Gina and "Hang in There" by Theresa. MS border punch, SU little flower punch and flat button fr stash!
love all the layers!    stampin that B-fly onto dp really pops doesnt it ?? and no coloring on this one....(sponged a little celery in its center)

Have a blessed day,

Paper Cupcakes Monday Challenge

This week Design Team Member Nilla Berglie has given us the challenge to ..."use any technique for distressing, roughing up your paper with your scissors, distressing with inks, sanding, scraping, pounding (hehe - do this method if your are mad at someone with your meat tenderizer ;o) ~ any technique you would consider a method to distress "
So I combined several different types of distressing using this week's image "Lucky Bear"...

This first one uses two techniques for distressing: sponging and scraping the edges of the paper. I used my small cutting scissors to scrape the edge (can't find the little circle distress tool that I have here ...somewhere!)

and this one below, I dont know what the one distress technique is called (have a total memory block) so I'm calling it "Vintage scrunching"  and tearing LOL.... "Vintage scrunching"  is balled up background paper, really tight, and then opened and smoothed it out...tore side of  mat, added scrunched flowers (dag-gone it..what is this technique called?)
colored both bears with Copics..but not blending colors as much to keep a "rougher older" distressed look...
(dag-gone what are those flowers.. made like this.. called???)

Well this is my last post as Guest Designer for Paper Cupcakes. I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Most of you know I recently started working with digi's and these were my first images! I want to send a special thank you to Nina for being so patient with me. I was so terribly late on getting several posts to her (one word - SNOW) and she was just so sweet! and a special thank you to all of the Design Team for their support and encouraging comments! They are a super talented group of ladies!! So while I'm no longer part of the "team", I will be back to join in the Paper Cupcake challenges and I wish Nina incredible success with her line of images!!
Have a wonderful day and blessed week!

PS I entered these in the challenge over at Paper Sundae to do distressed cards!

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge #19 - to do a CAS.....oh no!!!

Oh no! oh no! oh no!
CAS are tough ...at least to me! I always want to put on more....so many of you just whip them out beautifully...not for me. This week the Challenge from DT Member, Dawn Burnworth, is to do a CAS card: no layers and only one ribbon!!!
panic....think...think..think..then - light bulb moment!!! what was I worried about ???
Mo's images are so beautifully detailed. They make the card all by themselves! just color (-:

I'm learning to work with the digi's more and more each week - so for this card I printed the image to take up most of the front of the card. Had to off-center it slightly because wanted to give it some dimension by using a punch... wanted to thread the ribbon through the punch but also wanted to add it to her darling dress....hmmmm, since the challenge said only one ribbon - I opted to just add it to her dress. The glitter on her dress barely shows in the picture :(

Here you go:
I love this image! My inspiration is my grandaughters...the 9 yr old (Maggie) is taking dance and her first recital last year had her in a costume with this full skirt and my 3yr old (Lily) had a pink, full, long dress for Easter last year! Their GranPa would love to dance with them....he adores those two girls!

Hope you enjoyed this....I loved doing it!

Have a blessed day,

"Feelings of Hope" Blog Hop from the CSSDT at Stamp TV

Feelings of Hope
Gina challenged the CenterStage Spotlight team to make a card with the new Hope is Faith stamp set using  the photo above for inspiration.  Check out Gina's blog for all the details on this special stamp set.

Here is my card based on the photo:
and here are my eye candy cards:

that "blob" in the sentiment is the little caterpillar from Melanie's "a year of leaves", didnt have time to redo - one of those "last minute touches"...sometimes I just dont know when to stop  LOL!

hope you saw something you liked!!

Now, please enjoy these designer's participating in the hop tonight:

Remember, Gina is donating $2.00 from every set purchased to assist the Haiti relief effort through the Red Cross. I am so glad to be a small part of an effort to help them...thank you Gina!!
Blessings to you my friends,

all these stamps..but only one duck!

Selma and Geri entered the challenge over at Clearly Delightful and for participating received the most adorable little duck digi. The requirement was to make anything with a duck!! now I have chicks, chickens, roosters, frogs, bees, giraffe, gorilla, penquin, lions, dogs, cats, bunnies, birds (and thanks to Theresa) deer, raccoon, possum, frog and koala...but only ONE duck! Just recently purchased it from Whimsy Stamps so am also using it for their challenge this week...

so there you go!!! proves you can never have enough stamps!!!!

quick post - still have to get ready for tonight's STV's blog hop (see post below for details!)

Are you talking to me?

I'm just plain lovin coloring these images from GKD's "Hang in There" by Theresa Momber.
put these two together because I wanted to use this sentiment from one of Theresa's other sets....
because of DH!
Earlier spent..ohhhhhh about 15-20 minutes telling him all about a friend of ours problem today while I'm fixing our dinner....he is giving the occasional "grunt" but then was quiet....My response is "helllll-llloooo....did you hear me?   what does he say...."Are you talkin to me?"...aaaarrrrrrggggghhhhh!!!
I wanted to yell "NO, I'm talkin to all the OTHER people you see in this room!!"..but I didnt, sigh....just quietly finished dinner, ate, cleaned up and left him happily watching Mayberry for the 1,780,978,000 time!
and now venting in this post (big smile).....life is good!
now my card....

isn't it great how this little frog blends in with his surroundings! love it!
wanted to keep with the colors in the background dp.
and
Tonight at 11pm EST the Center Stage Spotlight Design Team for Gina K is hosting a hop showcasing the new "Hope is Faith" set. During the month of February, Gina K is donating $2.00 from every sale of this stamp set to the Red Cross to help them to help the people in Haiti. Making your own Woodgrain Background

I think most of you know about the absolutely best tutorials done by GinaK over on StampTV. If not, treat yourself to watching one - you will want to view them all. She is a perfect "hands on" guide through almost every technique out there.
Selma Stevenson's "Blast from the Past" challenge over on STV incorporates these tutorials. I love this because there are so many techniques I may have done only once...or still havent tried them! This week's challenge was to make your own "wood grain" background...don't know why I havent practiced this ....can always use wood backgrounds - especially on those "man" cards. This is a technique I'm going to keep working on - I did mine below going step-by-step according to Gina's toot! except I did smaller scores - wish I had listened and done same measurements she provided....

you can see I had trouble with the horizontal scores! I colored the basket to try and match the wood panel.
The flowers were colored and then Flower Soft was added. Image is raised on card.
If you go over to this challenge on STV - you will see Selma's and Geri's cards, both have done perfect wood panels!  I'm going to keep working and nail this technique!

Thanks for stoppin by,
Have a wonderful blessed day!

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge #18

This week, Design Team Member Dawn Burnworth's challenge is to use red, pink and white....and include a heart!

another cutie image!  Meet Sophie .
I didnt put anything on the inside of this card...not sure if it will be a birthday or thinking of you card! I cut her out leaving a white border to even out the white on the card. She is raised with strips cut from "carry-out container" that have adhesive applied to both side. The background heart has rick-rack trim all around it. All dp is from stash....(knocking the stash out, down to one big box!!)

Love Mo's images...they are my absolute favorite of children and so many others she has done....

Second post for today!!! trying to get back on "stampin schedule" ..

Lace and Circle

Hello, beginning of another week (let's hope with no snow !) and for this week's challenge over on Paper Cupcakes, Design Team member Selma has challenged us to  "Pick any Image" from Paper Cupcakes and to use lace (either paper punched or real) and a circle (the main image and/or greeting stamped in a circle).

I sewed my lace on...should have used red thread - not only would that have added to the card... but it would have shown in the picture!
Used SU's Real Red plus scrap stash dp and GKD's asparagus.
Colored with Copics E00, E02, E11, E35, E74, YG67 and prisma watercolor "crimson red" with OMS.

Home today for President's Holiday, woooo hooooo!!!!
maybe I'll put my Christmas tree away (good thing it's fake!) or maybe not....still feelin stampin starved from last week....(and hey! it's only a small tree) LOL....

I am behind again on visiting everyone - will see you this morning along with my coffee!
