Joan's Garden Challenge #4

hi there,
just finished a quick card for Joan's Garden Challenge #4 . Really enjoy Joan's challenges - she makes you think...here is the recipe for this week's challenge:
use yellow n green, trim, frame your focal point and embossing

I used Heartfelt Creations images (further details will be on our Wednesday blog), Webster's trim, Graphic 45 dp (doesnt look green/yellow in pic but it really is), THoltz embossing folder, and rectangle nesties to make my frame!!

Dee, hope your getting the sun and its doing some serious damage to those snow hills that have you buried!!
need to stop crafting and go do some laundy...sigh....I think a need a "wife" LOL...of course a better one than my DH has (grin)

it's a very basic sketch and I loved working with it....using the GKD Stamp Set Spring Mix , here's my card

I did the inside of this one because I have a special friend this is going to....
Used GKD's cardstock Creme de Menthe and stash dp, Memento Grape ink, nesties, cb folder, MS butterfly punch and stash ribbon.

Phri-days are what ??? Phindy's !!!

hi there, you know I'm doin a happy dance - weekend is almost here!!
Wednesday night was tough - you probably heard on the news the incredibly awful traffic gridlock due to ice in the Washington DC area...we live south and woke up to this Thursday morning...I couldnt get out due to the ice and our road wasnt plowed until almost 1pm...power went off for awhile but it came back on...
Here is our backyard - it is pretty when you dont have to get out in it...

so now on to the Phindy Challenge this week - this time its a wonderful sketch from our own DT member, Anne Marije....remember you can use any image to participate but you are entered twice when you use a Phindy...

 

 now after showing you what our weather is like - you can see why I chose this image for the challenge LOL

of course, I wouldnt want the sunburn this guy is getting...well maybe a little (-:

Design DIVAS Oldie but Goodie" hop

this is sooooo fun. I am one of the members of the SplitCoast blogging group known as the Design Diva's...well our leader, Sue Morris, opened it up on Facebook and we now have over 70 members!! that was quick and Sue has had to close the group.

Our first event is this "Oldie but Goodie" blog hop.... if you lose track of where you are...start at Sue's blog . From my blog here... pop over to Julie's blog! and you should have come from Ching's blog ...now that was easy peasy LOL

ok, here is my oldie!! This is one of my first stamps. It is from PSX dated 1992!!! yikes, that's old....but it's a goodie. When I was rummaging around my stamps and found this ...I thought...why oh why do I keep buying sunflower stamps - this one is a gem!! of course, back then all I did was ink and stamp and called it a card LOL

STV Center Stage Spotlight's Team Blog Hop!!

is having their first BLOG HOP for 2011. It's a color challenge - we have two color combos to chose from (or do both LOL)

I so enjoyed participating in this hop - have been having computer problems (as most of you know) and havent been participating in many challenges this past holiday season - feels good to be "getting back in the saddle again" LOL

this was done with the GKD Botanicals set and Hope is Faith set...I dont know what I was thinking and used Asparagus on this one too!

This was done with the GKD's Spring Florals set and You Are Not Alone set ...most of the time you cant glitter to show and now this one shows but not very well

Phri-days are Phindy's - this week challenge "Valentine"

have you heard the news? Phindy's Challenge Blog is now open to allllll images - of course you enter twice when you use a Phindy image - this week the challenge is to create a Valentine!
I immediately thought of this little image of Phindy's called Twick or Tweet but I'm thinking perfect valentine! - its going to my youngest grandaughter. She so loves her older cousin who takes ballet and she dresses up in her pink tutu and of course her red sparkly Dorothy shoes (-:

using up scraps! found the little candy valentines at the $$ store and bought several boxes so she doesnt try and eat whats glued to the card (-:
looking forward to 3 day weekend and being able to work on cards!

HAPPY DAY!!!

I'm still at work and cant wait to go home BUT I have the Bible study at the jail tonight so then when I get home.....
I GET TO PLAY WITH NEW LAPTOP!!!! i'm practically giddy...LOL
can't wait to pop around and finally leave everyone some "luv"....have been watching all the cards hitting your blogs but not able to post...

I started back in again for my term last week and there almost all new women attending - so many so young...breaks my heart....they all need Christ!
