Sugar Creek Hollow Challenge

Welcome to another Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow
This week we want you to make a vintage or shabby chic project ...with the theme...
only use Fabric, no ribbon or lace
huh yep...that's what I said....whaaaatt!!!
but, isn't that why we like challenges..or it is just the prize?  hmmmmmm LOL

well I love a challenge so this one got me thinking...at first I was like.."well, I cant do this, no fabric!"  I have fabric from my sewing days but its all out in the shed (buried) and that was too much work to try and get to it....but when I was searching for a lost stamp, came across my little plastic box of fabric stash from when I made stuffed "country" kittens...
bingo! now I have fabric (-:

even pulled out the sewing machine for this one
stamped the pig onto muslin (sorry about the shadow dots, don't see them on my card) and colored pig with Copics RV23, R11. The background is glued to white card stock so the fabric glue wouldn't warp my card. Then adhered to red card
Stamped a pennant image onto the green checkered fabric, cut out and adhered to card.
Using stash strip of same fabric I sewed it onto card using the finger pushing "bunch-up" method (LOL, I'm sure that's a name for it somewhere!)

Ok, now your turn...what can you do with fabric?

Crafters of Faith March challenge

Hi there,
I am sorry to my fellow sistahs of the Crafters of Faith group for posting so late - worked late last night and back out early this am - just now getting to computer - knew I should have auto posted KWIM!

Anyhoooooo, each month one of our sistahs challenges us to create something and for March our challenge is from Carolina. Her requirements:
use a lighthouse or some kind of light
at least 2 designer papers
and bling!!!

I used the retired stamp set from Stampin Up called "A Light Unto My Path"  combined with Artistic Outposts "Beyond the Sea"
my "bling" is a brad that I snipped the prongs off of...all designer paper from scrap box, black frame cut with Cricut-mini, cardstock is SU's Not Quite Navy and the light cardbase was stash...it's kind of a mustard color.

This talented group is listed in my sidebar if you would like to see their take on this challenge...
also entered in the new vintage challenge blog Frilly and Funkie ...it's their first challenge and perfect timing for me to be able to join in...

have a beautiful weekend
hugs

Sugar Creek Hollow Challenge

Welcome to another Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow. We want you to make vintage, shabby chic or primitive cards featuring something that depicts a " beach vacation".
One random winner will receive a digi of our choice and a winner's badge to display. In addition, the Design Team will choose one project as Card of the Week and the creator will receive a badge and will be in the running for a Guest Designer spot. Our Design Team has created wonderful cards with this color scheme to inspire you. If you want the details on their cards, just click on their name and you will be taken directly to their blog.

for my project I chose the wonderful stamp set "Beyond the Sea" from Artistic Outpost...
base cardstock is SU's Not Quite Navy. The designer papers, cranberry cardstock and scraps of NQN ...
all are from my stash paper bin...
MS border and anchor punchs, SU's photo corner punch, knotted twine, Memento Black and Rich Cocoa, Ranger's Distress Stormy Sky. The image has just a touch of color using Copics C01, and E00.

hope this has given you some mojo to create your own beach vacation project...
hugs ,

MFP' s Challenge - Birthday Card for OWH

hi there,
quick post! one thing about being here with the Grankids is that I cant stay up at night and stamp - too tired..at home, getting up and getting ready for work is no problem...dont know why it's so different here with kids LOL  maybe it's fixing breakfast, packing lunches (cant do it the night before) bookbags ready, gym bags ready...hear the shower running but are they actually IN the shower!!
everybody actually has their homework IN their bookbags , etc etc etc  All before 7am. ...Those of you with school kids are smilin I'm sure...me too!!! lovin every minute ...and actually they do most of that stuff - so what's different??

this card is for the MFP Challlenge which is another OWH card specifically for a birthday. I have a whole bunch of cards to send to the Charlotte NC address.

I brought with me this week stamps that I've purchased and yet to use. This one is from the Artistic Outpost and sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps. Love this pig and hoping some "good ole country" guy or gal serving in our armed forces will get this to send back home to someone special...

have a wonderful day
