STV's Center Stage Spotlight Group Hop -Inspiration Challenge

Hello, here I am with STV's Alumni CSS Inspiration Challenge for September - it's gorgeous and provided by our wonderful team mate Joy Hadden!
Can you believe Autumn is here...love it! love the cooler weather and the beautiful colors. I colored this one using pencils with a touch of Smooch - Snickerdoodle.
I used Melanie Muenchinger's set from GKD - "Stately Flowers 7" and the little acorn used to create the background is from Melanie's set "A Year of Leaves".

Now you should have come from the wonderful blog of Kay Simmons but if not and you want to start from the beginning, go to STV's forum . Your next stop is over to the hugely talented blog of Miesje Flach!.

My cardstocks, ribbon, ink (Memento-Rich Cocoa, Peanut Brittle) can all be found at GKD (I think the ribbon is from a retired STV kit) and then of course I have to add my pearls using Viva Decor Pearl Pen - black...distressed the edges, spellbinder's deckle edge classic ovals LG... and done!

Hope you were inspired and we see you in the challenge!
hugs,

STV's Center Stage Spotlight Group Hop - Color Challenge

Hi there - so glad you popped in ....
The STV Center Stage Spotlight Team hop for the month of May is a Color Challenge Blog Hop and the
color challenge is brought to us by Miesje
thank you Miesje!

We were to create a card or project with the following color combination:
a non-Christmas red and green card with a neutral color Black, White or Tan.

If you are hopping ..you should have come from the wonderfully talented blog of Lori McAree

I chose to combine two of GKD's stamp sets

hope you like
I spread a thin coat of Gesso on one side and almost covered up my red pattern designer paper. Didn't mean to have it so thick... and then stamped a background on both sides of my card using images from both stamp sets. (the brown side already had a grid image on it).
Stamped the birdhouse and flowers on scraps of white and colored them with Copics:
E04, 31, 18...YG63, 67, R85, C2
did some faux stitching and added my pearls with a Vivid Pearl Pen (love that stuff!)

My base cardstock is from GKD - Asparagus...everything else is stash!!!

Hope my mixed media card inspires you to join in our challenge...now your next stop is off to our sweet team mate Kay Simmons

and remember....
Make sure to leave a comment as you go along because we will choose a random comment and that stamper will win a grab bag of Gina K. Designs products!
Look for the announcement on Tuesday, May 28

Stamp TV's CSS December Alumni Hop

Hi there
it's that time of the month again when the STV Center Stage Alumni brings you a Hop and YOU have the chance to win a huge grab bag of fabulous Gina K. Designs stamps...
the challenge this month is from me ... and it's to

create a Christmas project with non-traditional colors, absolutely no reds or greens!

Now you should have arrived here from the wonderful talented blog of KAREN  (and a huge welcome back Karen!!!)  if not and you want to start at the beginning, then head over to STV.

I went with blues and yellows..
the holiday decorators at the office buildings I manage provided the most gorgeous yellow poinsettias in our offices! I love them... so where
do you go when you need a poinsettia stamp?
well Melanie's flower sets of course!

I used 3 of Melanie's sets...
from the "Pressed Flowers" set, stamped the background using Memento - Dandelion. Then stamped "Festive Frame" onto that using Memento- Teal Zeal. Stamped the poinsettias from the set "a Year of Flowers" (I'm sure every stamper in the WORLD has that set by now - an all time favorite "go to" set). Colored them using Copics Y06, 11, 28...then using heat n stick powder added my very fine glitter. Some of the frame was also colored with Copics...B18, 35, BG 18.
The sentiment was stamped with Memento-Teal Zeal.
Designer Paper is from My Minds Eye and stash ribbon. Gold pearls are done with Viva Pearl Pen....and that's it!

Now your next stop is over to the awesome blog of Lori .

Hope you were inspired to create with non-traditional colors...
wishing all a very Merry Christmas (I'm a Christmas gal instead of Happy Holidays!)
Don't want to take my Christ out of Christmas...

hugs everyone...

Not sure how or why that happened unless I did something wrong with auto posting. I love Blogger - it's free...but they switched me to the NEW blogger yesterday and it threw me a little...so....

FIRST POST TODAY

I'm hosting the
and the theme is FLOWERS!

Havent hosted a challenge in quite sometime and very happy to do so...My card was done using the color challenge from the CSSDT's September Hop (pumpkin spice, asparagus, corn) and the sets from GKD by Melanie Muenchinger - Stately Flowers 4 and Holiday Basket.

Copics used were E13, 35, 37, Y11, YR20, YG63, 67. Used a cuttlebug folder on one piece of the background, the other background piece is from GKD's paper pack Berries n Vines, ribbon from GKD and then final touch was gold stickles

Stamp TV's September CSS Alumni Blog Hop

Hi there
Welcome to a Color Combination challenge blog hop hosted by members of the Gina K.' CSS Alumni team. Today we are featuring hand drawn sets designed by Melanie Muenchinger and Theresa Momber .
As you hop along make sure to leave a comment because on Tuesday morning (September 25),
we will randomly choose two comments from all the blogs and two lucky individuals
will receive a Gina K. Designs Stamp set each
(the winners will receive either a set designed by Melanie Muenchinger or Theresa Momber).

For this month's Hop, our awesome team mate Sharri Seffens has given us this color combination:
Pumpkin Spice, Fresh Asparagus and Sweet Corn plus
neutral colors (white, ivory, black, and brown)
 are also fine to incorporate.

To be sure you are on track, you should be coming from blog of the  beautiful talent of Kay Simmons.

First up for me, is Theresa Momber's set "Under the Sea".
This month I decided to use some favorite techniques that I don't use often...and one is this first card - reverse masking! Using Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Squares I cut out the square and then set it over the card to sponge and stamp. Had stamped and masked my turtle...fun easy CAS card!

this is another simple card - paper pieced the fish  (i do paper piece a lot!)
aren't these fish wonderful!

next is my card using Melanie's Stately Flowers 4 (did you see her new release this month!...it's a must have!)and sentiment from Melanie's Holiday Basket. For this card I blocked and masked! almost forgot how to block and had to "think" LOL
colored with waterbrush and Memento's Potter Clay ink and finally caved in and had to use some Copics (Y08, YR31, YR02, RV42, E37, G99 - strange selection but I like it ok)
Now I was nervous stamping my sentiment directly in middle
and don't you just know I got it crooked!

Remember to leave a comment because on Tuesday morning (September 25),
we will randomly choose two comments from all the blogs and two lucky individuals
will receive a Gina K. Designs Stamp set each
(the winners will receive either a set designed by Melanie Muenchinger or Theresa Momber).
Next, you are off to awesome blog of Melissa Cash ..

Enjoy and hope you were inspired
hugs

Stamp TV's August CSS Alumni Blog Hop

Hi there
it's that time of the month again when the STV Center Stage Alumni brings you a Hop and YOU have the chance to win a huge grab bag of fabulous Gina K. Designs stamps... oh yeahhhhh

For this month's Hop, our awesome team mate Geri Utterback has given us this beautiful inspiration photo
now as you're hopping ...you should have come from the wonderfully talented blog of Kay Simmons and if not, you can start at the beginning of the hop from STV.

For my first card, I chose to use Theresa Momber's set "Wild About You".
used the "direct to paper" technique for the sky...thinking I need to practice that more. Paper pieced the giraffe and used Viva Pearl Pen for my pearls. Cardstock is GKD's Wine and All Spruced Up".

My next two cards are going to the family of Barb Colbert who passed away earlier this month. Barb and I were on Marks Finest Paper Design Team together. She was such a sweet lady and we became good cyber buddies. I last heard from Barb two weeks before she went home to the Lord. Her outlook was positive and she felt confident she would not be in the Rehab section of the hospital too very long....My heart goes out to her brother and family and her niece.

Both of these cards were created using Melanie Muenchinger's "Wild Heart" and
GKD's designer paper and cardstock

Barb loved butterflies and flowers and color!
well that's it for me!!

now hop over to the awesome blog of teammate Melissa Cash and see what gorgeousness she's created

Make sure to leave a comment as you hop along because on Tuesday morning (Aug 28th), we will randomly choose one of the comments from all the blogs and that person will receive a huge grab bag of fabulous Gina K. Designs Stamps!

Enjoy the Hop!
hugs,

PS I've also entered both cards for Barb in the Moxie Fab World's Repetition Challenge .

Stamp TV's CSS Alumni Blog Hop

Hi there,
it's that time of the month again when the Center Stage Alumni bring you a Hop and you have the chance to win a huge, FABULOUS, FREE GRAB BAG FROM GKD! oh yeahhhhh

This month we were given this sketch from the super talented Melissa Cash ...whose blog you should have just come from...if you want to start the hop at the beginning, just pop over to STV! .

I used stamp sets from Melanie Muenchinger for both of my cards....

This first card was quick and easy and almost like "find Waldo" only it's "...find the butterflies"  LOL
Melanie's butterfly stamp in her stamp set A Beautiful Life matched the designer paper from DCWV - Mariposa so perfectly!
The cardstock is GKD's Innocent Pink and Black (stash checkered dp), stickles, stash ribbon and Viva Pearl Pen - black. Used a short Popsicle stick for template for sentiment...worked pretty good !

This card took a lot longer but love it! Sure wish photo did it justice KWIM!
Changed the sketch just a tad - ran my ribbon along the bottom and used Spellbinder's  Labels One for image background instead of rectangle. Sentiment is done with Spellbinder's Classic Scalloped Ovals Large.

Used Melanie's sets, Holiday Basket and the sentiment and lady bug is from her A Year of Flowers.
Basket was done with Copics E09, 31, 37 and sponged with Memento's Desert Sand.
Flowers were sponged with Memento's Angel Pink and Rose Bud, leaves were done with Copics YG63,67
Sentiment stamped with Memento Black and ladybug colored with Copic R27
Designer Paper is from Prima - the Madeline Collection
Base cardstock is SU's Bayou Blue, stash scrunched seam binding, glossy accents used for dew drops and on leaves... and Viva Pearl Pen - white

Roses were paper pieced and added with pop dots....WHEW! done (-:

NOW, pop over to my wonderful talented team-sistah Kay Simmons to see the gorgeousness she has ready!

Make sure to leave a comment as you hop along because on Tuesday morning (April 24th), we will randomly choose one of the comments from all the blogs and that person will receive a huge grab bag of fabulous Gina K. Designs Stamps!

Sincerely hope you enjoy the hop
