Crafters of Faith March challenge

Hi there,
I am sorry to my fellow sistahs of the Crafters of Faith group for posting so late - worked late last night and back out early this am - just now getting to computer - knew I should have auto posted KWIM!

Anyhoooooo, each month one of our sistahs challenges us to create something and for March our challenge is from Carolina. Her requirements:
use a lighthouse or some kind of light
at least 2 designer papers
and bling!!!

I used the retired stamp set from Stampin Up called "A Light Unto My Path"  combined with Artistic Outposts "Beyond the Sea"
my "bling" is a brad that I snipped the prongs off of...all designer paper from scrap box, black frame cut with Cricut-mini, cardstock is SU's Not Quite Navy and the light cardbase was stash...it's kind of a mustard color.

This talented group is listed in my sidebar if you would like to see their take on this challenge...
also entered in the new vintage challenge blog Frilly and Funkie ...it's their first challenge and perfect timing for me to be able to join in...

have a beautiful weekend
hugs

Phindy's Blog
This week's sponsor is Phindy's Place  and the winner will receive one of Phindy's images!!!

(Now of course I am so tickled since I'm on Phindy's Design Team LOL)
Phindy provided the team with a couple of her images...the one I received is Mr. Brown Goes Shopping .

For my  5 x 5 card, I used the new set "Mother's Magnolias"
The cardstock, trim and ribbon are all from Mark's Finest Papers. The designer paper is from Graphics 45 - Once Upon a Springtime Collection.

Used Spellbinder's "Twisted Metal Tags & Accents", Labels 16, and Beaded Squares.
Ink is Memento Black and Bamboo

Hi there,
glad you came back for the 2nd post for today - it's the last Friday of the month, so it's "Anything Goes"...now they have been doing calendars each month and the template is available at the bottom of this week's challenge (each month's is available at the bottom of the last challenge of each month) if you would like to join in on making a calendar. I do want to...just cant decide what my theme will be!

Pop over to the Outlawz Copic/Promarker Challenge Team  and check out their adorable calendars! then you'll want one (-:
For my "anything goes"...I chose a fav image from Phindy's Place called Hot Cocoa .
wanted to match the stash designer paper - colored with Copics but have lost my little slip of paper with the numbers, sorry :(
this is short because.....I'm out of time LOL
just enough time to get the auto posting done for this weekend...

wish all this "rushing" would make me lose weight!!!
hugs,

Phri-days are Phindy's!

Only a week to go until we will be holding our 100th challenge.  There will be special prizes and a fun hop with candy along the way!  Be sure to join in this week and be ready to play along next week.  Big hint:  you'll want to dig out and colour your Phindy's Place images, the challenge will require you to use a Phindy's Place image if you want to be eligible for the draw.

Faux Fabric is done using the technique I saw over on my sweet friend Patti's blog . by Clare's Creations. It is done using scraps....love that. Here is the tutorial that Patti shared with us if you are interested. It took me several tries to get the hang of it...thinking I still need more practice but happy with this one.

Sugar Creek Hollow Challenge

Hello, and Welcome to another Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow
We want you to make vintage, shabby chic or primitive cards...with the theme "STEAMPUNK" ..
ok, now THIS is a challenge! and that's one of the things I love about Sugar Creek Hollow...

I had never done one before and had to go see what I could find on this...
here you go...
from Wikepedia...Steampunk is a genre which came into prominence during the 1980s and early 1990s and incorporates elements of science fiction, fantasy, alternate history, horror, and speculative fiction. It involves a setting where steam power is widely used ... Steampunk is most directly influenced by, and often adopts the style of, the 19th century scientific romances of Jules Verne, H.G. Wells, and Mary Shelley.

AHA! light bulb moment..now I understand the Steampunk Paper I bought from Graphic 45....bought it because I liked the colors... didn't understand any of the images LOL

Done completely using only Graphics 45 - Steampunk Debutante Collection designer paper and my own computer generated sentiment....lightly sponged with Ranger's Distress Rusty Hinge. Used Spellbinders "Twisted Metal Tags/Accents", cardstock is SU's Bashful Blue and pearls done with Viva's Gold Pearl Pen....

Hope you decide to try this "thinking outside the box" challenge...for more inspiration pop over and check out the Design Team - their creations are awesome!!!

Cant believe I did a "Steampunk" card LOL...especially since I had never heard of it before this challenge!!!!

Designing DIVA's Oldie but Goodie Blog Hop

Hi there,
Well if you are following the Blog Hop - you've just come from the truly blessed, talented blog of my sweet friend Vicki!
The theme of our hop is just what the badge says - we are to use something we've had at least six months and haven't used....now I have a TON of those kind of stamps! KWIM !!!

My oldie is my stamp and designer paper...now the stamp I have had for years...truly! There is no name of a company other than what is here in this pic

and my designer paper is from Bo-Bunny Press...this was my last piece of this and thankfully the corner had the name of the designer (-:

there are so many friends that are sick right now...needed one for a guy that is never sick...love the rabbit slippers and teddy bear LOL...his reaction will be interesting (-:
colored with Copics: E00, 11, 17, 25...B21,41...C3, Y21,26...R32, YG91, 95, 99
Sentiment stamp I purchased years ago from I think Michael's. It is stamped "designed for studio g".
I'm pretty sure it was in one of their $1 bins.

Now if you are doing the hop, your next stop is to Maria's super elegant, wonderful blog!
Hope you enjoy us bringing out our "oldies" ...I love the "Push" to pull them out

Speedy the Fox Challenge #99

Hello,
This week over at the Speedy the Fox Challenge Blog , I have challenged us to create " a CAS/ one layer card"...
These are tough to me! so grabbing the new MFP set "Lighthouses"....I started to think "one Layer" hmmmmm
Using a reverse mask from Spellbinders Labels One, I sponged the sky with Memento Summer Sky, Danube Blue, touch of Cantaloupe and Angel Pink. Using a post-it-note so would have straight line for the water, I added Paris Dusk.
Then paper pieced the lighthouse that was gently colored with Copics E11,YG63, Y11 and T3. Sentiment was stamped with Memento Danube Blue.

now I have to say, I do like this one layer card - it works for me (-:

hope you get a chance to play in this weeks' Speedy the Fox and Friends Challenge...
remember the randomly drawn winner receives a FREE stamp set (-:

hugs everyone,
