Phri-days are Phindy's!! Challenge #86

This week at Phindy's Place Friday Challenge Blog the challenge is to create using "scraps no bigger than 3 inches"....LOVE IT! so pulled out the huge scrap box and started plucking out my pieces...

Did something a little different - only used a portion of the Phindy image, Snow Fun . Actually even the image is a piece of scrap - the girl that's with this snowman was poorly colored ...so i just punched out the snowman and only used him.

the tag came from My Mind's Eye, I added the To & From....

well Phindy and the rest of the team are taking a break until January...so hope you can pop pver and enjoy the rest of the Design Team's inspiration and join us in our last challenge for 2011...

Get rid of some scraps!!!
Thank you everyone who supported our Phindy Weekly Challenge this past year
 - see you again on January 6th!!

Merry Christmas Phindy Phans (-:

I have created two projects with the new set "New Pines" - this first one is a quick/easy card !
stamped the sentiment using Ranger's Distress - PineNeedles, then laid a nestie mask (a scrap piece of paper that has cut out this die image) over the sentiment and sponged lightly around sentiment...ran it through the Cuttlebug using the "dots" folder.
Added ribbon from MFP and matted onto MFP dark green cardstock. Stamped trees using white pigment ink and embossed with Seafoam White embossing powder onto piece of same green cardstock. Cut out trees and adhered to card. Adhered to MFP's white cardstock base.
This is a FIVE MINUTE card - very handy layout that I go to often when in a hurry (-:
______________________________________

Next is another vintage tag using this set (and it will be entered into some tag challenges)
i LOVE this designer paper - it's from My Mind's Eye "Lost & Found Christmas" matted onto olive cardstock.

I added the "To and From" with gel burgundy pen and colored the berries with it also,
reversed the paper and added the strip on the side.
Stamped the sentiment with Memento Black
Stamped the cone with Ranger's Distress Aged Mahogany and paper pieced onto card.
Added lace...and bow with stash ribbon above the cone...punched hole up at top and made my hang string - popped big designer brad to close up hole...
last thing was adding the pearls using Viva's pearl pen - Ice White

hope this new release for December has given you some inspiration....
now looking forward to seeing who the random winners are - best wishes to all !

Speedy the Cat Challenge #85

Hello weekend! I am SO glad you are here!!!
This week at the Speedy the Cat Challenge Blog, I loved having the challenge again. So have challenged us to create "Thank You" projects....we are busy making our Christmas cards and yet our stash of thank-you cards are going to be needed real soon ...
I strayed from the Christmas theme and created my card using MFP's "Black Eyed Susans for Encouragement"...was saving it for a "trash to treasure" challenge because I used a coffee cup holder from Starbucks. Turned it inside out to use the crimped side - an old friend taught me this trick (aka Jennie Harper) years and years and years ago...that's how old Jennie is..not ME (-*

cardstock is MFP's Aged Cranberry and stash designer paper. Image is stamped on Kraft and colored with Prisma pencils...lightly penciled edges while still in die and blended out...
added pearls with Viva's Black pearl pen, sentiment stamped with Memento Black.
Card opens from the bottom.

Hope you get to pop over and see the wonderful creations from the Design Team AND hope you are inspired to join in the challenge...remember - random winner wins a FREE STAMP SET!

looking forward to seeing your thank-you's

Stamp TV's CSS Alumni Blog Hop

This is our Treasure Chest challenge hop and the focus is to create treat holders with a Christmas or New Year's theme! If you want to start at beginning of the hop, you can start from Stamp TV but if you hopping along already, then you should have come from the sweet blog of Lori McAree

I decided to create these adorable "sour cream containers"...they are quick - easy - and great way to use up some of my retired designer paper. TIP: my fingers just couldnt get these closed when they had the candy in them...so instead I sealed them up empty and then cut a slash in the top and filled them with M&M's...so much easier...added my little scalloped circle sentiment and it closed the slit perfectly!
These are for my grankids - chocked full of M&M's... and they hold a LOT - kids will enjoy (-:

these are so easy to make - go here for instructions - I just made my cylinder and sealed one end, then sealed the opposite end the opposite way, slit the top and added the candy, and added sentiment and ribbon....sooooo easy!
used GKD's 2009 Stamp set "Signed with Love" and punches from SU.
__________________________________________________
then for my assistant at work I made this larger gift box - filled with gold wrapped snickers!
used the Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities Labels 4 and regular size Labels 4, cardstock is all from GKD along with GKD's designer paper, Stamp set is GKD's 2009 "Very Merry Christmas" by Theresa Momber. I took side pics so you could see that I made a small box and adhered the two side panels...bells are colored with Copics Y21, 26, 28, YG63,67 and Gold Smooch, ink is Memento Black and Delicata Golden Glitz....easy QUICK and different!

i should have decorated the sides....

that's it for me!!!

Make sure to leave a comment as you hop along because on Tuesday morning (December 13), we will randomly choose one of the comments from all the blogs and that person will receive a huge grab bag of fabulous Gina K. Designs Stamps!
your next stop is the elegant blog of Karen Knegten

hope you've been inspired!

Sugar Creek Hollow - WOOOOO HOOOOO!

hi there - THIS is what you will see over on the Sugar Creek Hollow Challenge Blog today:

Welcome to Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow and a new challenge. Before I get to the challenge, let me tell you about some changes to the Sugar Creek Hollow Design Team. First, we are losing a couple of our wonderful designers because of family commitments. Marsha has been with Sugar Creek Hollow since the very beginning and her wonderful vintage designs will be missed. While Heide hasn't been with us as long, she has inspired us all each week with some gorgeous designs. Renee is going to stay with the team but will be scaling back her participation. Starting in the New Year she will become our Feature Artist and will show us all how Recycling and Repurposing are done the vintage way when those challenges come up. These ladies have made valuable contributions to the Sugar Creek Hollow team and have become lovely online crafting friends. Next, we have three new designers coming on board and they are joining us with their vintage beauties for the challenge this week so you can get a preview of what they will be showing you starting in January. Give a big welcome to:
Linda Payne from Payne Holler Cards
Peggy Marsh from The Wired Angel
Daniele Haddon from The Musings of a Chocoholic
Now on to our challenge. With Christmas close at hand, our challenge to you this week is to make CHRISTMAS CARDS IN NON-TRADITIONAL COLORS. Don't forget that we are a vintage, shabby chic or primitive challenge and want you to create in those styles.
We have a lovely new sponsor this week. Please welcome Delicious Doodles who will be providing one random winner with 4 digis of her choice. The random winner will also receive a Sugar Creek Hollow winner's badge to display. The Design Team will also choose a Card of the Week and the creator will also receive a badge to display and will be in the running for a Guest Designer spot. Don’t forget, we also have Christmas Blog Candy for one lucky winner to be chosen from our challenge entries between now and Christmas Eve. To inspire you all of our current and our new designers have created some fabulous Christmas cards in non-traditional colors using a couple of the images from Delicious Doodles.

so here is mine :
this image reminded me of some pictures in my baby book from when my parents went camping when I was a baby ...(and I'm now soon going to be 61 so you know it's fallin apart LOL)
what I love about it is that my Mom journaled back then...all of my photo pages are black and she always used a white pen! sure wish I knew where to find the kind of pen she used!!

one of these days I will take some pics of my book and use in a post...

I am thrilled to be part of this Design Team !! hope I do them proud
hugs
