Phri-days are Phindy's - Challenge #75

Happy Friday!
This week at Phindy's Place Friday Challenge Blog the challenge is to create "a Fall theme". So I'm using this cutie little squirrel called Thankful

Squirrels are really busy right now around here - now does that mean... bad winter, early winter or...do I want to know???

cardstock from Mark Finest Paper's, colored with Copics (just use every E that you have LOL) and then G67 and blender. Paper pierced in corner and added rafia bow...stash leaf dp. Colors are richer IRL than in this picture....

hope you get to enter our challenge...(remember that next week the Phindy Challenge will be "anything goes" but you have to use a Phindy image)

hope you have a beautiful weekend - I'm looking forward to having some friends over to stamp out Christmas cards for the missionaries our church supports...we want to get them done early this year!

hugs everyone,

Stamp TV's CSS Alumni Blog Hop - Fall Shaker card

Hi there, time for the STV Alumni's blog hop. This time it's our Treasure Chest Challenge where some lucky person will win a FREE GKD Stamp Set. Make sure to leave a comment as you hop along because on Tuesday morning (September 27), we will randomly choose one of the comments from all the blogs who will get a stamp set of their choice valued up to $24.95!

Our challenge was to create using a Fall theme and it must be a Shaker....so I used GKD's Showtime Stamp sets "signs of autumn" and "thanks a million".

You should have come from Miesje's Blog Weren't her shakers amazing!! and You can always start the hop right from STV...

This first card is the one I had done last week for this hop prior to my new grandaughter being born..had intended to embellish it more but kinda like it with sentiment being the focal. Cardstock is GKD's Green Grass and dp is Basic Grey's "Pyrus"

i know - i did a green pumpkin..but i wanted to use that gorgeous orange mesh stuff and thought it was too much orange if I framed my shaker using orange also...
TIP: dont use popcorn for a shaker - i had to triple stack my pop dots!!! grooooaaannnnn....

so after being gone a few days, when I came home the other night my craft desk still had everything out from making the above card...so I made another one before putting everything away...here you go!
the cardstock is GKD's Sand
used the red, yellow and gold Gelato's (love working with those, thanks Jennie!)
shaker is filled with Gala Glitz gold...pic doesnt show the leafs in the shaker stamped lighter
TIP:  if you dont have those pop dots sitting tight next to each other, the tiny beads in the glitz come rolling out...what a mess!!!

so I am DONE doing Shaker Cards for awhile.... now that you have a couple tips on what NOT to use LOL...head over to STV and enjoy Gina's Tutorial on Creating a Shaker Card  they really are easy
I made it difficult on myself (-:

now your next stop is over to Karen's wonderful blog She has no problem creating shakers ...

thanks so much for joining in our hop...hope you are getting some inspiration and looking forward to seeing your shaker card over on STV!
hugs

Phri-days are Phindy's Challenge #74

hope you get to play along with us this week!

hugs,

my new grandaughter

welcome to Lauryn Hope....they decided her name when she was born! babies look so much alike but she has our family nose LOL...definitely not her Daddy's nose (that's him holding her - he is a sweetie)

8lbs 10 oz   22inches long
we had a time - well my daughter did...she had her c-section Friday the 16th and the next day they started noticing her incision was opening...long story short...she had to have surgery again on Tuesday and they "corrected" the incision. Hated knowing she was in so much pain ...but all is good now. She came home yesterday evening and I came home later in the evening. Hated leaving my grankids - had a blast with them but this 60 yr old body was ready to come home...there's a reason we have them when we are young LOL
Worked today and tonight trying to catchup up on "stuff"...

sincere thanks for all the prayers!!

Speedy the Cat's Challenge #73

Welcome Weekend!! This week the Speedy the Cat Challenge Blog challenges us to create " a one layer CAS" card. I used the newly released set "Autumn Glory"...
punched corners of card and then just sponged edges of white cardbase and stamped leaves using Ranger Distress Aged Mahogany, Rusty Hinge and Fired Brick. On smaller piece of white cardstock, I colored yellow, orange, red Gelatos directly onto paper and then lightly misted and swirled with paint brush. Heat dried and then continued to stamp the leaf in same colors BUT added one black leaf with the sentiment. Had a slice of white left from the paper trimming so sponged it and added - dont think that counts as a real layer LOL.....heavy on the sponging for this one!

enjoy your weekend! I've autoposted this one because I have a new granbaby and family is coming in, etc etc so will be no time to post or craft this weekend...

hugs

Phri-days are Phindy's Challenge #73

This week at Phindy's Place Friday Challenge Blog the challenge is "Christmas"...and I sooooo need to get started!
used  Phindy's image Peace and Cheer

Colored with glitter pens - outlined using copic B00 and some C2 on the dove, then added Stickles "Star Dust" (addicted to that stuff!)  Ink is Ranger's Distress Fired Brick and cardstock is from Marks Finest Papers - Black, white and Aged Cranberry...sentiment is from Stampin Up but dont know which set....

This was just a fun image to color ..have printed off a bunch for my 4 yr old grandaughter to color! now those will make adorable Christmas cards!!!

TODAY MY NEWEST GRANDAUGHTER ARRIVES!!!! would you believe they still dont have a name for her LOL...and I get to take care of my other two grankids while daughter is recuperating from C-section....no work until Tuesday  wooo hoooo!! but then probably no more crafting either LOL but then I busted it for the MFP release hop...i can use a break...

now I know I havent been visiting and I know I keep sayin I will...but realllly and truly i will!!!
