Psalm 118:24

hello,
One of my most favorite challenge blogs is Stampin Sisters in Christ . I sincerely appreciate their insight into Scripture. They challenge us spiritually to bring ourselves closer to Christ, and they share with us each week their talent that reveals their love for our Lord.
This week their theme verse is Phil 4: 13 and the challenge is...
Make a card/project of encouragement or congratulations.

I started to use my stamp with Phil 4:13 but then thought...no matter what we are going through...there are no guarantees for tomorrow... and I'm encouraged about what today brings.
What can I do for the Lord today? Who can I share Jesus with?
the encouragement ..This IS the day that the Lord has made (-: We serve a living Saviour!!!

I am thrilled with a stamp set I won from the Layers of Color Blog Hop. It's called a "Touch of Elegance". Can you see it in the corners and behind the sentiment? Will definitely be my "go to" set for flourishes!
I have a second card I'm working on for this challenge also....hope to post it tonight...

have a blessed day,

my circles are scraps - stamped off the ornament and then paper pieced the ornament colored with glitter pens....that ribbon is from my stash!
what doesnt show well is the gold cardstock that's the base...this is actually a really sparkly card (-:

Cinema Saturday's 100th Creative Challenge

Good Morning, this is my second card
for Cinema Saturday's 100th Creative Challenge and they are using the wonderful classic - Pride & Prejudice! I wanted to make a card using the inspiration of Elizabeth and Darcy's wedding, but kept getting sidetracked...so many ideas...love the jewlery - so added this cameo....love the muted beiges and colors of that era..so lightly colored this image.
You can't tell from this photo but under the lace I stamped a damask pattern and on the big note die, heat embossed white with clear ep....oh well - I'm a stamper not a photographer (need my daughter for that - she's a pro! but in North Carolina....think she would run up here and photo this for me LOL...it's so pretty IRL) added my touches to the stamp (groom hat and bride veil) - stamp has no marking on who it is by

so now I've got laundry going, crockpot hummin and I'm back to stampin - last night I watched P&P so now I'm going to watch Sense & Sensability ....and stamp (Big Smile here...love these movies)

have a wonderful blessed day,
hugs

Cinema's Saturday 100th challenge - Pride & Prejudice

hello, came home from church and immediately set to coloring this image...it's for Cinema Saturday's 100th Creative Challenge and they are using the wonderful classic - Pride & Prejudice!
a fav movie (all of them (-: but I do especially love Colin Firth as Darcy)
anyway, when I saw this challenge my thoughts first went to the relationship of Elizabeth and her father!
I'm a soft-ee when it comes to watching the love between a Dad and daughter
and this image by Mo Manning is just perfect....

I enjoy their expressions and it just seems like the two of them are in their own little world. Since Elizabeth's family was poor, I wanted him to be dressed in "his best" but worn suit....she doesnt care or notice...she just loves her father - and is thrilled to just be dancing with him....

so only added the sentiment and kept these two all on their own...

I want to do another card tonight - something dedicated to Elizabeth and Darcy (-:
at least that's the plan LOL

Tilda's "Birthday wishes"

Hi there,
Worked on this card yesterday for 3 challenges! Havent had a chance to color any of my Magnolia's in soooo long - so just took my time and thoroughly enjoyed (-:   Had a great time with friends yesterday and we made 24 cards to be mailed to the missionaries for Christmas that our church supports ...thank you so much for your well wishes  (ate homemade pumpkin bread, and then cranberry bread and then later topped it off with pizza...and it all stayed down - so I'm thinkin all is OK LOL)

Originally intended to make this card just for the challenge over at Copic Creations - Browns or Make a Scene Challenge. However, that grew into adding what was needed to enter it in the challenge over at Joan's Garden's ....and since her challenge required a sentiment - wooo hooooo JACK POT because the challenge at 7 Kids Challenge Blog was Birthday Cards ....

sentiment stamp unknown - no markings...cardstock is SU's Cranberry Crisp.
Magnolia's Tilda and her dresser and ottoman (she and ottoman are raised on dimensional dots).
ink is Memento's Ruhubarb, Images stamped with Memento's Black, stash designer paper embossed with CB Herringbone folder, stash flat lace, dew drops for accent, small classic scalloped rectangle nestie for sentiment matted with scrap cs cut with postage decorative scissors, flourish at corner of dresser is from nestie pendant set, flourishes with flowers are done with EK and MS punches, glass jars and dresser top are colored with C2 and gloss accent added.
