STV new release challenge and another entry over at MFP (-:

hi there,
was able to do Jessica's color challenge  for the STV release celebration..

Used GKD's "Life is Good" by Theresa Momber (a fav set!!)
crazy looking reflection but I was trying to sponge an early morning scene - maybe too heavy on the red sponged over the yellow...
colors are kinda off - the  inked CB cardstock is GKD's Lemon Drop...looks kinda minty but it isnt, think its because the image is raised and the Old Olive mat from SU is throwing it off...
I'm just glad I finally entered every challenge for this release
AND
entering this over at Vicki's challenge at Marks Finest Papers! to do a friendship card
 - yes, my second entry for this week (really want to win one of their sets dont I - yep!)
have a beautiful week,

STV's new Release Party - 2 challenges done (-: and MFP's Challenge

This week Gina released the new stamp sets for September over on Stamp TV. I managed to get two of the three challenges from the release party done - hope to do the third one tomorrow....

For my first project, I've done a photo album (one of those adorable ones for $1 and perfect for a baby or grankid brag book) to enter in Lee's Challenge to make a 3 D item or anything BUT a card. If we had it all wrapped we get entered twice! I didnt wrap mine because it will be wrapped on top of my baby present. Made this for a young girl at our church expecting their first baby in November...so it wont be wrapped for awhile (-:

This is from the GKD stamp set Oh Baby from Rupa - ducks colored with copics and the little card was stamped with Vivid's Tuscan Tan and Memento Bahama Blue (dp is scrap of Webster's)

The second one is a card for Theresa's Challenge to highlight with nestabilities - now this has become a technique so many of us do without even thinking its a "technique"  (darn I wish I remembered it in my last Blast from the Past Challenge card)

This was done with two GKD's stamp sets "Tropical Blooms" and "Fancy Tags" by Nina. Using up my SU dp and cardstock is GKD's Vibrant Violet, ink is Memento's Grape Jelly and clear embossing powder, blooms are paper pieced

also entering this one in Vicki's challenge over at Marks Finest Papers! to do a friendship card

both of these were a pleasure to do, easy and uncomplicated for a change (-:

have a blessed Lord's Day,

Phri-days are Phindys - Challenge #20 Christmas in Summer

Phri-days are Phindy's
and that means the weekend begins at 5:30pm!!!! SHARP..no foolin around LOL
I know it's soooooo early to think about Christmas cards - but it's right around the corner. So come on and get your Christmas mojo going by joining us in the challenge at Phindy's Place.
!
Hope you have a chance to check out the gorgeous cards created by the Design Team!
I used Phindy's image Back to Nature "
did the background snow n sky using the emboss resist technique - made snow dots with versamark pen, clear embossed, and then brayered with SU's Not Quite Navy, tore white cardstock for across the bottom. added stickles and white flower soft, nestie tag, sentiment from GKD punched with oval SU punch, stash ribbon, EK corner punch, snowflakes from stash covered with stickles and then mini adhesive pearls, cardstock is GKD's Rocket Red and SU's Not Quite Navy, image stamped with Memento Black, sentiment is SU's Real Red and colored with Copics, B16, C1, 3, 7, E33,35, W2, 5, YR04, R29 and N1, 2.
Snowman is pieced and set on dimensionals - whole thing is really sparkly IRL (-:
have a blessed weekend,

first time working with grundge!

isnt that the weirdest name to call something! but after working with it...my fingers are sure grundge! of course, I need to go watch some videos on how to work with this stuff LOL
but I wanted to enter Joan's challenge...of course the last entry never wins (and the prize is more grundge..grunge?) but wanted to show my support for her challenges - she is just sooo sweet!

so here is my grundge tag

used top note die, airbrushed with Copic E33, stamped fern with SU's Not Quite Navy (fern is from stash - I've already put it away so if you want its name just let me know) and the sentimen in Ranger's Barn Red...which is what I also used for my rose (I'm telling ya, sure hope this washes off my fingers...they are all tipped in red LOL) and spritzed with gold glimmer mist...
I promise the next time I post a project with the "grunge"...I will know what I'm doin (big grin)
hey, it's after midnight and soooo need to go crash ...long day tomorrow

STV's Blast from the Past Challenge final challenge

hi everyone,
Well my time as the Hostess for this challenge is at the end...I have sincerely appreciated all of your support! I have learned so much from you and leave with my notebook chocked full of tips! hope this has been the same for you ...

so for my last challenge - it's to use your  favorite Blast from the Past Challenge (or any technique Gina has provided in the tutorial bar) with a final twist !! and the twist is "to see how many different techniques you can get on your project"....

Have FUN!
I managed to use ELEVEN techniques:

Spotlighting, Piecing, button n bow, dry embossing on BG, shaving cream, piercing, faux sewing, glazed flower in image, made my own flower, flourish embellishment, and lined envelope! (and used scraps and glitter and also sponged  on BG  - but not counted LOL)

We do these different techniques without even thinking - fun to actually step back and count 'em (-:
Used GKD's Hope Grows by Theresa, colored with Copics V04, 12, 15 and sewing done with white pigment pen. Same Copics used on lighter flowers - they were lightened with 0 - the colorless blender.

hugs to all,

Isabella's Sketchbook Final Challenge

Welcome Wednesday!

As announced last week, this is our last Design Team Challenge. Due to family health problems
(which may involve an actual move) plus a severe time constraint, Isabella is just not able to continue to produce her beautiful images at this time. The Digi Boutique and this blog will remain open and as time opens for her, she will be adding new images.
Speaking for the Design Team as the Leader - I know that each of us have enjoyed this team so very much. We have an incredible group of talented ladies that each week challenged us all.
(So many times their cards left me speechless! ...not an easy task LOL)
We wish Isabella and her family well.
Thank you Isabella for giving each of us the opportunity to be part of this team.

This last challenge is to "make your own flowers" - no premade flowers for us this week!

So in our farewell and heartfelt appreciation to Isabella, here's my card
please pop over to Isabella's Sketchbook to share in the cards made by the rest of the Team.

my flowers were done using the 6 petal punch (punched three times, cut a petal out of one piece, then two petals out of a second (these pieces are the final centers) and then each section is rolled and set inside the other)..if you want the instructions just let me know and I will do a post with instructions.

(these are the same flowers that we used to make in grade school - now since I'm almost 60 - does that get me some kind of award LOL)

some of the flowers in the image were pieced, coloring done with Copics RV02, 04, 10, 19, BG0000, BG18 and 75, Tim Holtz dp, Cardstock is GKD's Innocent Pink and All Spruced Up

have blessed day,

She has done a wonderful job hostessing this challenge.

Used GKD's set "Gifts from the Sea" by Melanie, Cardstock is GKD's All Spruced Up and Kraft, dp is from Christine Adolph, Ink used is Vivid's Coffee Bean and Tuscan Tan plus Color Box White, Clam shells are pieced and were lightly colored with Copic E33 and Smooch illuminator, added scallop punch border and jute twine!

Here August is almost over and I had great plans for this set and yet I've used it only once before now...oh well, you know how that goes LOL

Hugs and have an apple (-: for STV's Inspiration Challenge

Hi there,
Did I say how glad I am to have my computer back LOL (-:

This card is for Brenda's Inspiration Challenge at STV
She has had the most wonderful pics to inspire us!
This week I went with the colors Red, Green and White from the inspiration - and thought of this apple image and the white shelves just reminded me of this background

Used several of GKD's stamp sets - the background leaves are from Theresa Momber's "Hope Grows", the apples are from Asela Hopkins' " Fruitful Harvest" and the background is Melanie's "Inspiration Mosaic". Cardstock is GKD's All Spruced Up, Red Rocket and White (120 lb). Red requires a lot of blending and the 120 lb is absolutely perfect! (ps - also highly recommend at the Copic Certification too!) Colored with R11, 22, 27, 39, E33, Y11, YG11 and 67, T0, T2. Ink is Memento's Bamboo and Black.

I started to lightly yellow the inside of the apple but I love a crisp apple and to me it looked more crisp using the T copics instead of yellow...hmmmm, maybe next time I will give the inside a little more color...

our apples here in Virginia were a little small this year but daggone they are delicious!!

have a blessed day
we are enjoying our Homecoming today - and you know us Baptists - going to be some goooood eatin'

hugs,
also entering this one over at Marks Finest Paper Challenge #17

Thursday Blast From the Past Challenge - Spotlighting

Hi everyone,
This week has flown by...and tonight my mojo with it!

Had my card all planned but I just wasn't "feeling it" once I got started...KWIM... but out of time and decided to post this card anyway instead of starting all over.

This week's challenge is Spotlighting! and the twist - no twist - anything goes!!!! so many ways to spotlight...have fun!

I think its that plastic clear bubble thing (experimenting) that I dont like...bummer...
and to keep the glare down the pic had to be lightened which really washed out the card's colors
oh well...let me stop my whining LOL ....

Using an image for GKD's set "Spring has Sprung" by Rupa Shevde, colored with Copics C1, 3, 5 and B23, 26. GKD's cardstock Black and Little Boy Blue, scrap dp and GKD's Gingham ribbon. The pic doesnt show the embossing using the Spellbinders "Butterfly" Impressabilities that was lightly sponged with Distress Ink - Faded Jeans...its much prettier in real life!

Here's wishing everyone a great mojo week on your Spotlighting Cards
have a blessed week,

hugs,
Linda
reminder:

Please upload your creation to the STV gallery, using the tag stvblastlp11. You do not need to use Gina K Designs stamps to participate, although we'd love it if you did! In fact, if you use Gina K Stamps in your entry, then your name will be added to the prize drawing TWICE! Please be sure to create a new project for the challenge versus linking up something you've created before.

You have until next Wednesday, August 18th, at 8pm CST, to upload your sample. One winner will be drawn at random to win a Gina K stamp set valued at $24.95 or less!

In order to be included in the random drawing for a free GKD stamp set, please create a new card (or project) for each challenge that you participate in. Using one card for multiple challenges is not permitted. Please read the challenge specifications carefully as only those that follow the challenge closely will be put into the drawing for the prize

Isabella's Sketchbook Challenge #20- Scraps!

Welcome Wednesday!

This week we are chosing any Isabella image and using our scraps! yes, just Scraps - except for the card base, no paper or card stock can be any larger than 3”x3” (or the equivalent sq. inches – 9) and all embellishments must come from your stash or be made from items on hand - NOTHING NEW

Prize: 2 free digi's (of your choice) from Isabella's!

In challenges with over 9 entries, an additional participant will be the winner of "Isabella's Pick" and win 2 digis and the "Top Design" badge.

I used Isabella's "Christmas Bells" - this is all done with scraps and stash! Pulled out my Christmas box - time to start on the Christmas cards (which I really do love to make - just not in August LOL)

I'm pretty sure this is all SU scraps and I know the cardbase is SU's Copper (had it forever and now down to just a few sheets) Colored with Copics ...and that's GinaK's ribbon from last year and my little bell ornament is from last year also!

Come on and use up those scraps! hope you get to play over at Isabella's and really hope you get time to check out the awesome "cant believe they did it with scraps" Design Team's cards!!!

have a blessed day,

kept it simple, concentrating on the flamingo - you know.. those skinny legs are tough to color!

the Rose

hi there - couldnt sleep with my jaw aching (Tylenol just isnt doing it !!)
so created a card
pulled out scraps from Basic Grey, Websters Pages (including a piece of their vellum) and colors unknown...needed a sketch so went to Mojo Monday...the circle on this week's sketch was perfect for my rose...Rose is made with the Hearfelt Creation set "Grandiflora Rose" and punched out using the Blossom nestability

What do ya think? not too shabby for this ol insomniac LOL

really got into coloring my rose, wanted to add dimension without layers, just made small cuts
colored with Copics RV000, 02, and 21
used a MS punch for leaves (think I need to find a big leaf punch for large roses), McGill and EK.
Sentiment is from Rubber Stamp Tapestry (have missed them and so made a card with them also - will post it another day)

ok, guess I should at least go try and see if sleep will be my friend (-:
