stv color challenge this week - Black, White and Kraft

am out of GKD's Kraft and didnt realize it...so used SU's Caramel and Copic E31, E33
Coloring and sponging came out a little darker than I had wanted...but here it is...

a 2010 goal, besides working on using up my scraps, is  to do more of the inside of my cards! love this new stamp set from STV called "Picture it"...the inside sentiment is from SU (but in a box with scripture stamps so dont know the name of the set)... on the front I did the reverse mask using the nestie! the background mat is dp stash...

our church was cancelled today due to the snow...bummer, but I've gotten ahead in my stamping projects and auto-posted through Thursday!!!  woooo hoooo....accomplished something!

have a blessed rest of the day!

"Wucky" in love

love this little guy from Whimsy Stamps!
I'm still using scraps (big smile) so color combo is "out of the ordinary" but you know what....I like it!!!

the dp is scraps from Ginak and SU...with GKD's Spruce and Red Rocket...colored him with Copics...but forgot to keep them out as I used them, sorry!

now check these out - pics are looking out to our backyard...when I took this, the snow had reached 10 inches!our patio furniture is covered and you can see how high it is...... I didnt have to go to work in this (woooooo hooooo) and DH came home from work early, so we have enjoyed a "snowed in day" together....big ole pot of homemade vegetable beef soup on stove!
aaaahhhhhh...it's wonderful.....just as long as I dont have to go anywhere LOL !!!

ok, back to stampin....here I've been wishing for time just to stamp and havent accomplished anything today!

kitten chasing butterflies

ok ok ok.....guess you can tell by now I have Theresa's new set from GKD's.   LOL
and it's called "Purrr-fectly Delightful"....now you would think I love cats...wrong...have never owned one...well, growing up there were the cats that lived in our barn.  They would have killed you if you touched them!!! so I'm actually kind of afraid of them (childhood trauma thing)...we never fed them - they were just always there...hissing and arching their backs if you walked up on them without knowing it and the sound they made.....well, it stopped you dead in your tracks and I never moved until they did !!!
now how did I get on that.....LOL....this stamp set has this adorable little kitten. But I have no idea how to color a kitten  (havent had a chance to look at any cat books) so have just kept her white...Shaded her so you're looking down on her!

this was done using Jennie's sketch for this week's challenge at STV.
The colors dont show very well. The cardstock is SU's Hunter Green and Elegant Eggplant - they are really pretty together! Butterflys are stamped with Vivid's Purple and Kitten is stamped with Memento Black - used Copic R11, C1, and W1. SU dp was run through CB's dot folder, nesties, and Fiskars scalloped p

Easy and quick card!

Have a blessed day....hope snow stays away!!! wanting to celebrate my youngest grandson's 1st birthday Saturday (:

another kitten card!

whew! was trying to get these posted before 9pm to enter in the blog hop over at GinaK for this stamp set...just made it in time!  ok...deep breathe...relax..and now about the card LOL
I did the kitten pretty much the same as the CAS kitten card. It's the background that has more detail and time involved. You can see all the matting. The main background was stamped with a large flourish style stamp (using versamark) onto dark purple cardstock. Then brushed different colors of pigment powder over the versamarked area (brush lightly and just blow off excess). Love that metallic look! Stamped another flourish style stamp in bottom right area with versamark and added fine glitter. After heat setting, that area is all glittery!!....the matting was done with scraps!

I am determined to use my scraps first and NOT cutting into new paper unless there is really nothing in the scrap box -sooooo, you will probably see some strange color combinations in the next few weeks (-:

have a blessed day!

Stamp: GKD's "Purr-fectly Delightful" by Theresa, Large and small Magenta "flourish style" stamps 1996

CAS kitten

This little kitten is so adorable....and this card is a quick and easy one!

using stash paper and ribbon! stamped kitten onto white cardstock....and not being sure of my ability to color this kitten...left her white with just some highlights and pink nose (that barely shows in pic), colored her cup and cut her out and raised on dimensional dots!
Going to make several of these to have on hand for different occasions! will add sentiment as needed.....

have a blessed day!

I dont often think ahead enough to combine challenges LOL....

but for this card I did !!!!  This is for Jennie's Sketch challenge this week and Vicki's color challenge to use Rust, Yellow, Gray or Black...AND my good friend Peggy let me know it also meets the challenge at Saturday Spotlight Challenge #15.

I pretty much stayed with Jennie's sketch but Vicki's colors were a challenge...at least for me! Can't wait to see what the other entries did with these colors!
Thank goodness for these Basic Grey papers - they were in my BG stash folder so dont know their name...sorry. The main image is raised on dimensionals...and colored with Copics. I 've been asked to give the copics used (so I remembered to write them down as I was coloring) and they are listed below. Promise I will do better about listing them! just feel honored that so many want to know more details...          THANK YOU!

Have a blessed day...it's Monday so have the Bible study at jail tonight...would sincerely appreciate your prayer ...

Colors of Winter

This week's color challenge from Shannon over on Stamp TV is "to create a card inspired by the colors of winter"...so I thought about this and decided to take my inspiration from the trees outside my craft window.

By winter, their leaves are gone and the wood colors are brown and green...then the snow arrives...and you only see the bare trees (it's beautiful)...finally, snow is gone and now we can see some sunlight but with fog!!! and..... a little bit of green around the pines!

so there are my colors of winter!  SO READY FOR SPRING !!!

have a blessed Sunday! :-)

Stamp TV's Inspiration Challenge from Gina

Challenge from Gina this week is to use this photo as inspiration...that's it!!!

beautiful picture...and I wanted to keep as close to it as I could....
here's my card....

and the inside...

For the background mat, I used Basic Grey's Bittersweet paper...sponged it with various inks, stamped it with leaf and tree stamp, ran it through CB Branches folder, sponged it again with same various inks and then sanded!
Sentiment stamped and mounted with nestie...AND this time I did the inside of the card as well....

what do you think?  It's one of those that's prettier IRL...
Wanted it to be a simple card, but the background did take some time....

thanks for poppin in....

Designing DIVAs First Challenge for 2010

yes! I'm doing it....catching up on some challenges! This one was just for the Designing Diva's and the challenge is to sew on a card - real or faux!  Well, our DIVA sister Peggy has this "humongous" dog that apparently has eaten the sewing machines of several of the Divas...so we just "had" to resort to faux stitchin'  (can you tell we were having fun with this LOL)....so when I think of sewing on a card...I always reach for my trusty Inspiration Mosaic stamp (from Gina K).....

used stash dp from SU, and from GinaK the "Lovely Shelf" set by Nina, Vivid's purple ink and yellow flowers from embellishment stash drawer!

3 day weekend!! woooo hooooo!
hope everyone enjoys it that has the 3 days off!
blessings to all,

CSS Inspiration Blog Hop

from our Design Team Coordinator, Jessica Fick:
It's time for another GinaK CenterStage Spotlight Team Blog Hop!
Each artist was asked to design their project by drawing inspiration from these photos of the AMAZING Christmas Cookie Bouquet the CSS Team sent to Gina's DT Coordinator Jessica Fick:

Click on these links to see what the participating Designers have prepared for us tonight:
Everyone's projects will be added to the StampTV gallery and Idea Center over the next few days. You can search for them by using this tag: cssjf4

My inspiration for these cards was based primarily on the colors used...there are some adorable stamp sets from GKD that would be perfect for this inspiration challenge (and I am betting the other designers have used them) but I dont have them...sad face...goal for 2010!!! buy all the sets I dont have...hmmmm...for this I would need 2011 through 2015 ...LOL (:
Enjoy - hope you find something here to inspire you!
