Final Card for the Creative Clear Stamp DT

well everyone, it has really been so much fun! I wanted to use one of my favorites from Creative Clear Stamps .... the Friendship Set...each sentiment is so special.

Even though our term is over...the friendships made will go on....and that is the best part of the cyber time we spend together....friendships!

Laura, you were just awesome! and sooooo generous!!! looking forward to your new releases in January. I wish you the very best in 2010.

Those of you who were faithful followers - thank you so much! your encouragement really challenged me to try and create projects that inspired you....and some of you came and participated even when no one else did....now thats special friendships!

Design Team members - I didnt always get to your blogs to comment, but your creations were over the top! and those challenges Lisa gave....really gave us a push to think "outside the box"....and Jennie - you were just the "bestest"  (LOL) blog coordinator EV-ERRRR!
so this card is for Laura, the Design Team, and all our special friends!!!!

using scraps from huge scrap pile after all those Christmas cards!!!

Thanks again everyone - looking forward to what 2010 holds for us all !!!

"polka dotted" Christmas Moose from TMITA

super quiet Christmas for us...did spend afternoon with one daughter and family - loved it!!!!
Thoroughly enjoyed the quiet together time with DH...we dont get that much time together with my job and his having to work every Saturday...he was off today so that was the best! Have squeezed in some stampin when he was studying for his Sunday School lesson....
Am enjoying trying to get used to working with digi's..this one is from There's Magic in the Air blog...and its a free digi... I think he's adorable! the image...not my card...still out of my comfort zone but I'll get there LOL

hand wrote my sentiment...sending this card to my nephew who recently joined the Navy so didnt want to "girl it up"...he probably wont mind the ribbons since they arent really girly girly...hmmmm, maybe I should have titled this "moose with measles" and made it a Get Well card instead..LOL

can't believe Christmas has come and gone!!!and now we're headed for New Years!!!

have a wonderful, blessed day,

Well, bummer
Big snow storm coming in - actually already started - and I am here in motel near the properties I manage.
Left this morning at 7am and was headed home thinking I had everything ready for the snow contractor to handle everything for this one...but nope,
Received call at 4:30pm that I needed to be here for this storm..so kept going home to get clothes for the weekend - took me 3 hours...packed and drove back up here...another 3 hours...
So here I am....no cardmaking for me this weekend!
This storm is supposed to break Virginia's record for snow in December, so its probably best I am close by in case something goes wrong...

So enjoy the snow for those of you who can....I wont be posting again until (hopefully) Monday!
Have a blessed weekend and stay safe!!

cards for men challenge

Really happy to have found a brand new blog that will feature Cards for Men!  how cool is this!!! I am always working the hardest on cards for them....really looking forward to seeing what this great Design Team creates...one of whom is Patricia St Martin, check out her wonderful blog!
Here is my first entry:

DH has found the perfect tree, snow is starting to fall, and he is headed home!!!

Stamps: Truck is 1996 PSX and tree stamp is 1995 PSX, mini-grass and sentiment unknown
Paper: GKD's cranberry and apple
Ink: Memento black and bamboo
Embellishments: truck/tree colored with Copics, white gel pen, glaze on hub caps

Have a blessed day!

thoughts n prayers - quick card

didnt think I would have a chance to post this one...but find myself with some time this evening after all.
this card is for the color challenge at STV (and already posted there) to use blue n white and for the Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge to let someone know you are praying for them...

well this card fits exactly both challenges AND is easy for my friends new to cardmaking!just follow directions under card...enjoy!

using SU Not Quite Navy, stamped my sentiment and using the tree stamp from GKD's Tree Silhouette set, stamped the trees and stamped them a second time without inking to give the lighter background trees. Then placed the nestie over the area I wanted to keep, and ran it through the CB. Now, before removing the cut paper from the nestie, sponged around the border with Not Quite Navy. Removed it from nestie and adhered to light blue mat and adhered that to the SU design paper. Use any matching ribbon across the bottom of the card and adhere to card base which is also SU Not Quite Navy - added some mini blue pearls to the four corners of the image...done!

Back to work tomorrow and my jail bible study tomorrow night - please pray for these women!
Have a blessed day,

Train Trip!

Another card using GKD's "Life is Good" set by Theresa Momber....just can't help myself...still have so many ideas rolling around in my head with this set!

This is for Jennie' Sketch Challenge over on STV.

DH and I dream about one day taking the big road trip across the USA. Two things we especially want to do are:  take the famous glass-top train ride in Alaska to see the bears catching salmon plus view the countryside and the train trip through the Grand Canyon!!! hopefully.. before we are both using motorized wheelchairs  LOL

cardstock: GKD's cranberry, black and SU's pumpkin, dp is stash
ink: memento rhubarb, black, bamboo
embellishment: MS punch, twine
technique: colored train with Copics C3, C5, C7 and SU choc marker, light sponging with SU Old Olive and Saffron, clear embossed sentiment

oh, and front of train is raised for dimension!

Have a blessed day - supposed to be sunny and in the 50s here in Virginia....hope those of you snowed in are enjoying stampin and getting ready for Christmas!!

Creative Clear Stamps "Anything But a Card" challenge

Loved this challenge! I had been wanting to give a co-worker this project so she could see another way to use some of her stamps!
3x3 cards are sooo handy to have ...I made these little notecards for her to have to use on those last minute "baked" or candy gifts! envelopes were also included... the inside of the notecards have just a blank piece of white cardstock for her personal note.

Creative Clear Stamp set Holiday Sentiments provides so many perfect sentiments for the holidays!
cardstock: dp and cardstock from SU
ink: memento black
embellishment: nesties, MS punch
technique: matting

It's going to be a  crazy busy weekend - for all of us, right!!! - going to shop for Grankids tomorrow...wooohoooo!!

Stamp TV's Center Stage Spotlight Design Team's Christmas Treat Recipe Blog Hop

I dont bake anything from scratch...sorry (holding head down and shuffling feet)....but I make a MEAN Pillsbury Quick Bread!!!! does that count!!!! LOL
This time of the year I buy up about 2 dozen boxes and go to town baking them...some in mini loaf pans, some in the half-loaf pans and some in the full size bread pan!I can bake 8 pans at a time.... wrap them in foil with a tag and give one to each family at church (those with 5 + kids, yep we have several)  will get a couple!
They really are delicious....

and if you dont like quick bread....I highly recommend Mrs Smith - she bakes the most awesome pies..although this year they're running a little on the small side.... :]

enjoy the recipe hop - now go get some "real" recipes!!!

love ya :)))) hugs to all!

stamps: GKD's Holiday Greetings, Signs of Autumn, and Thanks a Million, Basic Grey Eskimo dp

explore dream discover - "Life is Good" set from GKD by Theresa Momber

yes, friends!
I am lovin this set....will try to not make EVERY post with it...but here's another one.

This card is simple and quick- just stamping and a little sponging! This set is going to catch me up on my "stash" of MAN-Cards!!!

Used SU Sage Shadow cardstock and with my CB, cut the top note die. With Memento's Bamboo Leaves - stamped the trees and kept stampin off. Next, inked a landscape mountain stamp titled "Mountain" from Blue Ridge Impressions using SU Night of Navy onto center of cardstock. With Memento Black, stamped my two deer. Sponged trees lightly with SU Old Olive and then darker across the bottom. Sponged trees again with SU Saffron and also in the sky area. (thought this gave a nice "fog" effect). Sponged sky with light and heavy pressure using SU Bordering Blue. Added white accents across mountain tops! Final touch was coloring the border with SU Old Olive Marker...and stamped sentiment with Memento Black (always hold my breath that my sentiment will be straight!! too lazy to pull out Stampa-ma-jig thingy..buried in here somewhere)

Started to add black brads...then decided against it - wanted to keep this one "man-ly"  LOL
oh...and the whole image is raised on dimensional dots!

Have a blessed day,

PS I had given the wrong info on the mountain stamp - found the correct distributor and the above info is now correct - my apologies to Biblical Impressions!
